when is the time to set up for Christmas?

well, i have started crafting for christmas and have done so fur quite some time but as for decorating, i usually like to do it the beginning of december and take it down just after the new years.

Oh I know that it is getting to be that time of year for all of us. Christmas I dearly love but I hate the shopping that goes along with that. I ususally start setting up around Thanksgiving.. That way I try to have it all done by the 1st of Dec.

As per usual, my mother sets up the christmas tree and decorations the night of or the night after Thanksgiving. I enjoy christmas, but its not the same as it used to be... but all the lights on some peoples house can look so nice... which is one of my favorite parts just to ride or walk along looking at each different house that is decorated for christmas.

Well we have several boxes of Christmas decorations that we take out every year. So we don't really go shopping every year for new ones, although sometimes we might need to buy more lights to replace broken ones, but we always put up our lights and our tree and decorate it the day after Thanksgiving. It is a nice day because my husband does not have to work so we have all day to get it done, and then we have some left over turkey and stuff.

I usually go shopping for decorations after Christmas the year before...and usually set up the lights at the end of october...unless it starts getting cold early then I do it earlier...
I've already started shopping for christmas presents though!!

I don't think it is too early to start doing a little planning. Leaving planning until the last minute can often be really stressful and we can all end up spending way too much money without meaning to. To decorate the lights and such I think that end of November is an appropriate time, so really the decoration shopping does not need to be done before then.

It is not too early to start making things, as some projects take time. However, I do not buy any Christmas things until at least December and actually usually buy after the holiday when it goes on sale and then have the stuff for next year. I do not do the actual decorating until at least Thanksgiving has passed.

Sorry Clorissa. I should have checked first as I just posted a similar discussion. But to answer your questions - I'm thinking now and have the cards already! The decorations are in store and my mind is turning to present buying. I shall leave the food until the day before though!

I have plenty of decorations and don't need to buy any more... but who knows?:) I start decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving and sometimes the evening of Thanksgiving. I make myself wait that long.

Christmas is coming up so fast isn't it? Since I'm a student and my money is usually stretched to the limit I start shopping as soon as possible. I plan to begin my shopping this weekend hopefully. As far as decorations go my family usually puts ours up just after Thanksgiving and we keep them up until the day before New Years Eve.
