hi, many people are busy with their work, and often on a duty of business in another city. so we should take a public vehicle. at this time, which vehicle will you choose? a train or an airplane. for train, it is not fast, but you can enjoy the scenery outside the window and chat more with the strangers. while airplane is the fastest to take. but many people afraid of taking it. how about you?

If I went to Canada and the train fare was the same price Vancouver to Toronto by train as by plane I would choose to travel by rail. I would be able to look out of the window and enjoy seeing the Rockies. In the night I could sleep in a comfortable compartment. The plane would take hours and the enjoyable train trip would take two or three days. I do fly when I want to hop continents.

A plane is faster so I better take the planes however there are times when I go to work and I will take the train to do so, it is very calm and then we have to see many views outside too.

myLot reputation of 95/100. buping (540)   ranked 102 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

hi, med. i think when you are not very hurry to some place, you can take rail. sleeping on place is very uncomfortable. but if you are hurry to your work, there is only way to get there, take place. or if you across the continent, you have to take place, there is no rail across the atlantic i think.

This is a very common question. An airplane will save us more time.If i go to do some business,i will choose airplane. On the other hand, train seems more safe. Some fear to stay up in the air.So if i have enough time,i will choose a train.

myLot reputation of 95/100. buping (540)   ranked 102 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

hi, yuhongchao. train seem to be safe, you are right. but i think ariplain is also safe for the accidents happened to plain are not very much. but train sometimes gets wrong on work. i think that many people would be like you that take a train if got enough time.

I love flying, it's just the coolest experience but I also love the train as I get to see so much more. I think it would come down to whether I needed to get where I am headed faster. In that case I would take the plane but if time isn't a factor I would be sure to take the train and my camera.

I find I am far more friendly on a train than a plane though. I think that is because on a train you can wander around a lot more and met more people.

myLot reputation of 95/100. buping (540)   ranked 102 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

hi, webmann, welcome to mylot. you are a friendly person i think as what you have said. you mentioned that you like to take plain to experience the coolest thing. i hope you would take beautiful photos as many as you can. but many friends are afraid of in air. don't you?

I used to live in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, I now live in Frankfurt in Germany.

When I want to go to Amsterdam now to visit friends, it can be done in 3 hours 45 minutes by express train for a very affordable price if you book 2 weeks in advance. To fly takes 1 hour 30 minutes, but then you have to take the time to get to the airport (45 minutes against 5 minutes to the main railway station), at least 1 hour 15 minutes to get through seat allocation and security, 15 minutes at least to get out of the plane, pick up luggage and get out of the airport, and another 20 minutes to get a ticket and then a train into the city.

For approximately twice the price!shocked

As I hate all the (admittedly necessary) security procedures thumbdownat airport as well ...

Train definitely - every time!rolleyes

myLot reputation of 98/100. astonysh (1824)   ranked 163 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

I forgot the at the same price bit - to do that in a train, I have to travel first-class! Another reason for taking the train.

myLot reputation of 95/100. buping (540)   ranked 102 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

hi, astonysh. thanks for sharing with us your experence. for you, i think, taking train from amsterdam to netherlands is more convenient and cheaper rather than in air. but if you go to another city far away from where you lived, sometimes you have no choice but to choose the plain.lol. anyway, wish you every trip enjoyable.

It depends on the availability of my time. In Taiwan, we have both domestic flights and bullet train that travels from the north to the south of the island at almost the same price and time of 90 minutes if taking into account the security check-in and boarding at the airport. I'll take the train less the hassles.

myLot reputation of 95/100. buping (540)   ranked 102 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

hi, timothy. first let me that i feel sorry for the waterflood that happened in taiwan few days ago. i hope and convince that you would have a more lovely and beautiful family in the near future. as you mentioned that you would choose trail instead of airplane if not in a hurry. that is what most people agree, including me. thanks again.

I would definitely like to travel by a plane if teh fare for both the modes of communication are the same. Travelling by a plane would definitely take less time and who would a stupid person to travel by train if it costs the same amount. I do have certain instances where I have to travel by train. It is because, when I am travelling to my hometown, there is no airport. So I have to land up at a place which is 200 kms away from my hometown. Then again travelling from the airport to my hometown by train is another issue. So in these cases, I prefer travelling by train so that i can travel directly to my hometown.

myLot reputation of 95/100. buping (540)   ranked 102 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

hi, vipulchawla. you seem to be on the side of in air. that is few fellows choose to be. maybe you are busy in your work, so you have to choose a faster mode of communication. for me, we have less airport compared with you, so i have to choose a train sometimes, and there are so many people in the train, so i would rather take a plain if on the same price.

myLot reputation of 86/100. vipulchawla (969)  3 months ago

So u fall on my side only.
Well, ofcourse one would choose the fastest means if available on the same prices. The only drawback is with the accessibility to all places

If I have time to spare, I would take the train. Well, it depends though on where I am or where I'll be going. If the train in that place seem comfortable, then I would love to take it. It would be great to see the places that the train passes through.

myLot reputation of 95/100. buping (540)   ranked 102 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

hi, inutme, as far as i know that the train in usa are very comfortable and few people. so it is very nice to take train if time available. for there are less people, so you can enjoy sometimes quitly. i think the trip would be very enjoyable. i hope you could take beautiful photos as many as you can every time.

I would love to do a west coast to east coast train trip through Canada but generally I have time constraints that don't allow me the time to take a train. I think that train travel is usually more expensive as well. The biggest benefit to me of air travel is that you get somewhere so quickly that you have a lot more of your vacation time to enjoy.

myLot reputation of 95/100. buping (540)   ranked 102 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

hi, laureninla. again you are on the side of train. for train, you would enjoy the scenery outside the window. but in air, you just see cloud and cloud. but it is a way to have a rest in airplain for those busy people. and many people just like you that have time constraints, so sometimes choose train unwillingly.

I would be choosing an airplane for an ordinary trip, the fastest way to travel. Yes you are right, if you are on a train you can enjoy the scenery. Well, I would only take the train if I will be travelling somewhere in Scotland or similar places with lots of greenfields and breathtaking sceneries:-D

myLot reputation of 95/100. buping (540)   ranked 102 out of 1,875 in traveling  3 months ago

hi, seekers. you seem to be someone who knows how to enjoy life. but many people are afraid of taking airplane, the reason is that in case something problem with the plain, it would be less chance for people survive. although we all know that plain is the safest mode of communication. anyway, wish you have a pleasant and happy trip everytime.
