This summer the blockbuster video store in my neighborhood had a thing going on where you could rent as many movies as you wanted in a week for $10. You could rent games to. The only catch is that you had to take them out one at a time.

Since my kids were home with me for the summer and we were only a limited entertainment budget, we took advantage of that deal several times.

My daugther watched all of seasons one and two of "Dexter". Interesting show.

We also rented a lot of comedies. Mostly "new releases". Some of them were funny. Some were borderline obsene.

I finally saw "forgetting sarah marshall" I saw one of those spoof movies about teen movies (can't remember the name). I saw the second Harold and Kumar movie.

We probably also rented a few action movies. I stayed away from romance and horror movies. I'm not a big fan of horror movies and haven't been in the mood for romantic comedies.

That $10 thing at blocbuster ended 1 or two weeks before schools started. We still had a few more movies we wanted to see, but...oh well.

I also am signed up for blockbuster online. They had frozen my account because I had paid with a debit card and I was out of funds for a while.

I finally got that started again. It's a pretty good deal. For 19.99 a month I can get 3 movies at a time by mail and when I'm done watching the movie I can take it in to the store and exchange it for a movie right then and there (no extra charge).

I got my first three movies already. I'm trying to throw in some "family" movies along with the other movies. So, right now I've got "How to eat fried worms", Flushed Away and Ghost Rider. those are the movies that happened to be in my "que" when they froze my account.

So...what movies have you seen? Have you seen any of the movies I've mentioned? Have you seen any other movies that you recommend?

The last one I rented was 'I love you man.' Definitely NOT a family movie lol. I told my daughter she should wait till her little guy went to bed before watching it, far too many F words and stuff. It was ok, but I wouldn't probably watch it again. Not that the story line was bad, just different. The ones I watched with my grandson a couple of weeks ago was really good family entertainment. The Madagascar series. Good films that even are entertaining to adults, and a story line that makes it interesting for any age. I highly recommend those. The music is great as well as the action and all. My grandson's 6 and he just loved it (I did too and I'm waaay much older lol) I would definitely see those ones again and not tire of them.

Those Blockbuster deals are nice. My sil did that last winter and we always had good movies to watch in the evening.

I'm a huge fan of Dexter but I have really slacked off on watching it. I have seen the new movie Wolverine and it is great if you like the X-men movies. I have also watched a great horror flick called Quarentine. It is really intense and for scary movie lovers only. I also watched a movie called The Mist. It is based on a Staphan King story and has quite the twist for an ending. I have seen Ghost rider. It was ok. That's the one with Nicholas Cage right?

I thought that forgetting Sarah Marshall was really funny but it was like immature adult humor. Was the teen parody movie dance flick? I haven't seen it yet but it looks kind of funny.

I have seen the HAROLD and KUMAR 2nd movie you've mentioned.
It was too crude and a waste of time.

Lately I've watched RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN with Dawayne Johnson aka: 'The Rock'.
It was an ok decent Disney sci-fi movie and I would recommend it.
If you like adventure movies, you might like this one.

This year, I've watched 120 movies (how sad is that??) and its cost me £12GBP They've all been on video (so all quite old) as my local charity shop have been selling them off at 10pence each, so, I buy them, watch them, pass them on to my mum and then we re-donate them to the charity shop to sell again. I've watched all sorts - a few I'd seen before - like Edward Scissorhands; As Good as it Gets and Room With a View. Some were utter crap and others were suprisingly good even tho they weren't the sort of films I would usually watch like 'Rainmaker' - others I enjoyed were 'A Beautiful Mind' 'From Hell' & 'Amistaad'... & Stuart Little...I liked the cat lol

Two days before I watched the movie Angels & Demons with Tom Hanks and I just love the movie especially a Dan Brown scenario, they are just a wonderful moment to live with. When I saw The Vatican and all the churches and events I just want to go there now in a holiday, well wish I get to it. I think maybe you will love it too.

Very rarely do we go to the theater but a couple of weeks ago we went for an outstanding movie I would highly recommend - Inglorious Basterds. It was full of action, comedy a little romance etc. Something for everyone but a little graphic.
Otherwise, we dont rent movies, we get them off the net. You never have to mail or take them back! and the price is right.

I haven't seen any of those. My DH likes the Harold and Kumar movies. I tried watching one with him, but I thought it was too much like a bad Austin Powers movie and I HATED the Austin Powers movies. They were so dumb.

We have Netflix to. My husband LOVES the show The Unit and he's missed several episodes due to his work schedule. He put that on his que. He has a profile and I have a profile, so every time I send a movie back, I get another one I want to see and when he sends one back, he gets one off his list. I've been watching eps of Touched by an Angel. The Angel of Death is pretty hot. happy

The last new movie I saw was probably Fast and Furious. Neat movie with all the sound effects and cars and fancy driving. If you liked the first movie (The Fast and the Furious) then you'll like this one. It's pretty much on the same format as the last one. I also heard there's going to be a 5th movie and Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are returning for it.

Just watched Gamer. It was okay A lot of special effects and loud sounds. The second part was better. I slept literary in the first part because it was like watching a videogame.

The last few movies I saw were...

SAVED! - This movie was so hilarious, I was pleasantly surprised! It's not everyday I can giggle like a maniac with the jokes that were included here! Of course, not many others might laugh along with me with this movie - but if you can find the humor, it'll definitely make you grin!:D And I'm a big fan of Jena Malone, ever since seeing her in Donnie Darko!
UP - I cried, I laughed, I gasped, I screamed (in utter delight)! Pixar never lets me down! Each and every movie they make is filled with hope, happiness, love, laughter, awesomeness, glee, wonder & awe, imagination - along with really amazing life lessons that children and adults alike can learn from!:) I loved every second of this movie, and I'll probably get the DVD when its out here!:D
THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS - What can I say about this movie... well, it made me cry. A lot. I knew I was going to cry, but after reading a certain book called 'The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak, I couldn't resist watching this movie because 1.) it seemed to have good reviews 2.) because I was curious if there was going to be a happy ending. And, well... I won't spoil it but it was definitely a moving movie. The actors playing the two young boys were amazing!:D
TAKEN - Don't mess with a father who can hunt you down and beat you up so bad without morals. O_O This movie was superb, the soundtrack amazing and although the plot is that might've been overused a few times before in other films, it was impressively made. I think Liam Neeson was part of the success of this movie!:D His portrayal of the father was top-notch! If you haven't seen it, don't miss it!:D (It's R-rated though, just in case.)
Anyways, that's a few movies I've seen!!:D
