My longest holiday is Passover. It lasts8 days. During those days I can't eat anything that has yeast or rises. So I can't have pizza, pretzels,or pasta. That's most of my diet. It is so hard.

Passover is the Holiday when Jews remember that they were delivered from slavery.Have you seen the movie The Ten Commandments? that's the story. When Moses got The Jews release, there wasn't any time to let the bread rise .They just packed up and fled .So we Jews today don't eat anything that has to rise like bread during Passover.

Our longest holiday is Christmas, and it also depends on what day of the week Christmas Day and Boxing Day falls on as the holiday could be extended longer! Then close to it is obviously New Years Day. However in respect to school holidays the Summer holidays are the longest with most children getting 6 weeks off! That is what I used to love best about school the time off! But when you work I guess Christmas is the longest holiday in the year, unless of course you take annual leave!

Hi youless, I'm glad to learn that you could enjoy a long holiday for 8 days.
So you have to thank for the Mid-autumn Festival that falls right in your National Holiday. This beautiful coincidence has offered you such a wonderful and happy vacation
I hope you could make full use of the holidays and enjoy the pleasant time heartily together with your family, doing activities you long for to your heart content.
One of my part time work agreement had come to a successful conclusion. The other one will be ended by the end of the coming month. I would like to start my work usually in Feb of the coming year. The former one most probable will begin in the month of March. So I usually could enjoy a 3 months long holiday
Wish you all the best and a Happy National Day and a Mid-Autumn Festival Day!

but this is an unpaid leave holiday.
I believe you son must be very happy to have a long holiday vacation together with his grandparents in another town. He feels happy as well with his well designed and beautiful lantern I suppose.
Take care and happy holiday!

In Malaysia, only the main festival was given 2 working days off.
Namely, Hari Raya Puasa (for Muslims), Chinese New Year and Deepavali.
So, school will normally close for a week during this festival so that
people can go back to their hometown. What the school did is they have
replacement class on Saturday to replace on the extra days given during
this special festivals. Those working adults will apply their own leave
from work, hence minus from their annual leave

Hi Youless,
So what is your programme for the past long holiday?Going for any trip with your family?
The longest holiday that happened recently is during the Muslim Hari Raya in Malaysia, that was 3 days holidays. But during that 3 days, I was just at home ,spent my times with my son and husband.
I can't recall back any longest holiday happened in my country here, the longest is only 3 to 4 days. The rest is only for 1 day.

I think there are two long holidays here in my country... one is christmas season and that starts like in December 22... then up to new year on January 2 or 3... the other one is Holy Week... which starts Monday... and ends during Easter Sunday...

Holidays as in, national holidays where we do not have to go to work?
Then I guess the Chinese New Year holiday is the longest on the calendar. Cos if the Chinese New Year falls on a Monday/Tuesday, or a Thursday/Friday, then we would have 4 long days of break from work!
