 I recently posted a discussion about whether newspapers are commonly read these days. The majority of people read the occasional newspaper, but virtually everyone updates themselves with the news online. I was reading today (online) about a new newspaper that is being produced in Bangalore, India. India is rapidly becoming one of the most "wired" countries in the World. Now if a place where you are nobody without a cell phone and the latest PC can manage a new newspaper can other places? If you were to launch a newspaper, what would it be centered on - local or national news; sports; Men/Women or something entirely different?

| 4. 34momma (4798) | 3 months ago |  i don't read the paper or go on line for the news. the news is just a way of keeping you in fear of what maybe. they never ever talk about anything good. about how some kid goes and read to the elderly. or how the elderly teach children manners. or how a community comes together to take care of each other. i mean if i can't read that kind of stuf that will uplift me and start my day off right, then i rather not know

| 5. dragon54u (9515) | 3 months ago |  If I could publish a newspaper, I would focus on local, national and world news. I would make the sports section very skimpy. I would devote at least one whole page to good news around the world, like a stranger returning money they found or someone seeing a house on fire and bravely rescuing the people inside as they called the emergency in on their cell phone.
I would also have a section on money saving tips and local bargains. I would offer local stores a feature writeup if they extended a 20% discount on a certain day that week to their customers, which of course I would publicize! I'd also offer column space to children and teens.

| 6. catdla1 (2643) | 3 months ago |  If I were to start a newspaper, I'd start with a central 'brain' that contained news from all sources, worldwide. From the central repository (so to speak), subscribers could customize the news and areas of interest that they'd like to receive from. It wouldn't be a lot different than customizing your home page. Much of the news we see is available worldwide through UPI, AP and other centeralized sources, I'm surprized this hasn't been done already.

A couple of on line friends hold his hand and tell him all will be well - they are right. P1ke doesn't eat lunch for nerves. After water guy has left p1ke suddenly gets appetite back. Eats sandwich (smoked salmon - nothing but the best for this boy). P1ke writes about it and friends comment. Boss comes home. P1ke eats supper. P1ke goes to bed. Very dull really. LOL. | |

Yeah, I do read the online news mostly, when I log in the first thing I do is read the news but if I was launching a news paper, I would make a local news, a good meaty news what is going on around ther are where we live, we do have a local papers but for some reason we haven't had one delivered for a long time, its a free papers. My news papers would not have wags or celebrities and no fashion, just plain old fashion that you can have a good read of. Hugs.
