Flirting with 30 Minutes

Thanks! I was pretty happy with the improvement. And I definitely felt better running this one too as opposed to my first 5K. I'll have to see what I get on a flat course next time. I'm also contemplating attempting a 10K in the near future.

That's the difficult thing... I haven't decided what to wear yet.

My friend is going as a cheerleader, but I don't really have to match her or anything like that.

Even though I hate how I look in skimpy clothing, I figure running clothes are usually skimpy anyway and I don't want to be too hot to run quickly. So, I'm going to look around for skimpy enough costumes that they'll be cool, and also costumes that I could easily wear a sports bra under without it looking horrible. Preferably, my belly will not be shown off. But if I end up with shorter shorts than I'm used to or something, I guess that wouldn't be as bad.

We have some time to figure this out.If I think of a good costume,I'll write.I have to think about this and get back to you.

Ok, awesome! Yeah, I probably won't be able to go out looking for costumes until next Thursday anyway, so plenty of time to think about it. And even after that I could still be looking. You always have such good ideas.

I have two ideas.the first is going as an ancient Greek athlete . In other words wear a mini toga. I saw torch bearer on a book today and he had a short sleeveless tunic and it was belted. It looked similar to this photo.he had everything covered.

I looked at that photo and at first I'm like, "wow, that could work... it will just be that and running shoes." And then I realized I'd have one boob pooping out! LOL But there has to be a way to cover that. Although maybe something with two straps would be safest to avoid wardrobe malfunctions.

I wish I could show you the picture I saw but I couldn't find it online. In the picture it was a sleeveless tunic no boobs were showing. I thought this could be great to run in.

Eureka!I found the cover of the book. Google The Greeks by Judith Crosher and you will see the outfit I think will work.

Oh nice! That really would work. If I was a barefoot runner that would be really funny too.

fantastic.It looks easy to make. do you have a off white or cream oversized t-shirt? If so,then roll up the sleeves and add a belt and you almost have the look.Good Luck!

My oversized shirts aren't that long, but I'm sure there must be something like that at the local craft store. Either that or I have tons of extra sheets and I'm a master at "sewing" with Krazy glue.

Yeah, definitely minus the pumps! Could you imagine running in those? Although, in your case I have a hilarious idea... since girls in those types of outfits often end up taking off the shoes and since you run barefoot, you could carry some pumps like you just realized on race day that those are impossible to run in. You'd get a lot of funny looks for sure.;)

I'm seriously contemplating a batgirl outfit and after reading your post I looked for local races. There are 2 5K's on halloween but neither one are dress up affairs. I'm thinking of running one of them dressed up anyways.

You should run dressed up if it's on Halloween. I'd bet a lot of people would.:)
