there have been many inventions throughout history that have made profound changes to how humans live. do you think you would have been imaginative enough to come up with some of them? what about the destructive ones - would you have realised the effect they would have and would you have decided to keep the idea to yourself because of this? and one last question - do you have any ideas that you think would make a big difference to the world today?
in my case i think i could have managed the wheel - i'm quite good at problem solving and coming up with original solutions. making fire i am not so sure about and splitting the atom i would have kept to myself.

I am not that creative. If the world had to rely on me for inventions it would wait for a very long time...

I had a job when I was younger and worked in a research and development laboratory! My job was to invent things for the corporation! I did and got my name on a few patents as a co-inventor, we had to sign a release when we hired in, this was our job but we did get some credit! I's hard to know where some of this will lead when you do invent something your mainly focused on the particular thing your working on! Others get to tweak it for whatever they come up with! If I knew it was going to the war machine I wouldn't have taken the job!

I worked on a radio frequency welder that induced electricity into metal alloy tubing that was formed on a rolling mill, I invented cutting tools for the various alloys that went thru the weld area to remove the scarf as it went thru the area and was still hot also the collection system to gather it as it was being taken off! Also the internal cutting tool that matched the inside diameter. It was thin wall cooper tubing, And a copper-nickel alloy! This was used to make desalination process machines to make ocean water into fresh water!

Hi jb,
i think i can not be creative enough to make some huge or influential inventions. But i do consider that someday maybe i can do something to contribute my country, as my current job is in leading edge in my country. i would be very content if i can make some contribution to heath care in my country. As to destructive ones, i never thought about it. In my opinion, no matter whether can i make me influential, i should be a honest and kindhearted person.
Happy mylotting!

Well .. actually I HAD invented the wheel. In my first life, that would be .. 17 lifes a go.
Ho did I figured out ? Well, is time world to know ..
I was the leader of a small group living in a cave. While I was the boss, I was on night-watch duty only when weather ws nice, no rain, no snow, no clouds.
While I was sitting there at the cave entrance, my eyes ere attracted to that shiny big thing on the sky (later somebody call it "the moon")
Every night, on my shift, I saw that thing round "rolling" on the sky. You see, moon have what we call today "phases". And "travelling" on horizon, slow motion .. I start to make drawings about how that looks (I used a piece of wood scratching on dust).
After few days, I was looking to all those marks I made in the dust in day light. Together with the eyes-memories, I was sure that thing is .. turning around. I grabed my silex tools and go on top of the nearby hill, theer I spoted once some rocks and some woods, having in mind to "build" something "shape similar" with the lighting thing were nights on sky ..
It happen that just a bit later that day I saw a big tiger trying to go inside our cave. I just have finished to carve a stone looking like "the moon" from an angle .. I got mad I let wifes alone to face the danger and I tryied to run down the hill to fight the tiger. But that allmost-round stone was in my way and I hit it hard ... I fall down but the round stone start rolling and hit the tiger which was so surprised he can't react in time ..
And so I have .. actually discovered, not invented, the wheel .. me ..
Prior to this I had discovered the fire, but I'll tell you about that some other time ..

I can remember as a kid, probably younger than eight years old or so, imagining being able to tell a car you you wanted to go and it taking you there. Mind you this was back in the days when my mom had a Studebaker! Now, we're almost there in reality.
I've heard it said the world takes 50 years to catch up with the thoughts of an Aquarian.

That should say tell a car where you wanted to go. That's what I get for gawking at the television while typing.

I can some up with many different ideas that would work well, the problem isn't thinking up ideas, it is finding the time to work on making them and testing them. I think that I could have come up with the wheel and I definately would have shared it because it is something that helps everybody.

na i would have skipped the wheel and jumped directly to the slip and slide. I think outside the box.
