Getting older

Awesome post Pose. I would like to be a writer also. I'm 51. I don't really pay that much attention to the fleetingness of time. I try to just enjoy the day. I worked in hospice for a little while and if nothing drives home how precious time is, that really did. You have inspired me. I'm just coming back to mylot after being off for about 7 months. I don't know how long it's been. But it's good to be back. I didn't think my account was still active. Good luck with publishing your book.

I have notice that the years just seem to start and before we know it is over again. I am in my 60's so I know what you are saying that time goes by fast. When we are children we do not have care in the world. Then we become teenagers and can not wait until we are old enough to be on our own. Once we become adults we wish we could be young again. Yes it would be boring if everyone agree on everything.

I have felt same as you but it has a logical explenation. Kids has less problems they just play their games and dream so every day is the same and off course they're waiting for Xmas which make times longer. Now that we have a more complex way to see everyday, well everythin seems to be faster and we can't do anything but to learn to live our lifes as happy as we can do. Hope you can make your dreams come true.

You only hurt yourself when you are not expanding and growing. There are most people can't stand the though of aging or getting old. Old age isn't so bad if we consider the alternative. We must have grown old for us to see how short life is. Life can only be understood backwards and it must life forward.

i'm so agree with you.

I am just 21 years old but I do feel the same way. But getting old is just a natural part of our life as human beings. What's most important, is how we lived our life. It is about how we love and touch other people's lives.
When I was 10, I was rushing to be a teen so I can go to malls on my own and go out with friends. But when I was on my teen life, I was again rushing to finish my studies so that I can work and earn money and live my life to the fullest. But now, with my age, and the work that I have, It seems that I am not still contented and still looking for another job. There is no satisfaction or contentment.
With the kind of world that we have today and with the technologies, it seems that we just don't stop looking and searching. And when we get old, we still don't stop. And that's when we think that life is too fas because felt that we haven't done anything.

Whatever age we are right now, I think we have to pray and live our life to the fullest. Say to our parents and friends on how much we love them. For sure, before we die, we can say that we have lived.

Great analogies, I hadn't really heard the first one before. But it is so true..
I used to think the days and years took forever when I was in school. now I can't believe how fast the year goes by.. Heck the weeks go by in a blink, and all i do is go to work and come back. I look forward to Thursdays because it is the start of my "weekend", but lately it seems like one has just passed and already it's Thursday again, and next thing I know a month is gone and I can't believe it's OCTOBER!
By the way. I'm 42. So if time starts speeding up.. holy cow!

Hi Pose123 you are right when we are kids times is so slow especially during school or in any boring moment. I am a not closed to 70 well I am 27 but I have noticed that time is going so fast there are days that I think I might only do 10% of the things I have to do. I just hope that when I get to your age it wont go a lot faster than now because then I wont be able to do anything in a day. I know that right now I have two kids, my husband and a house to take care of and that might be the reason why I am not having enough time to do everything that I need to do. My dad in September of 1930 so that must make him 79 and he loves to go to different states and he those not like to just relax you are always going to see him walking around cleaning the yard or doing something. I am glad that he has the heart to do all those things but I keep telling him to relax and take a nap or to just sit but he wont do it he would always say that he is ok. In his case when he is not doing much during the day he would say that it was a long day and that he was bored but when he is doing something he wont complain.
I wish I was a little like him.

How right you are! Gone are the endless afternoons wondering around trying to find thing to do like when I was a child! These days I am never, ever bored and time flies so fast, it is frightening. I guess as you say, it will go by faster and faster as I get older.

I’m 48 years old and it’s only been in the last few years that I have put my priorities and values in the right order and I regret not having done it a lot sooner!

I became a mother at 40 so I am still at a stage where a lot of women were in their mid to late twenties! I just hope I can pull it off! Doing well so far!

I have been a member here for about a year and I wish I had discovered this place a lot earlier, at least I am finally doing what I love during my days writing and MyLotting could do with more money but that may come, you never know...

You’re right it’s not all about always agreeing with each other, it is when you open your mind to others’ views that you learn the most.

There's a lot I can say to that. I'm already 31 and I guess I'm already at the peak - career, life, job and on just about anything. At this point I have already achieved most of the things that I have dreamt of and wanted. I agree that when you were a kid, life is slower but when you aged, it goes a little faster. Time swiftly passed by without us hardly noticing it.
