Has anyone out there tried Acupuncture? |
| |
| I have a really bad case of tendonidus in my right wrist and unfortunately am right handed so to say it has slowed me down is an understatement, not to mention the pain..I think I would have been better breaking it, pain wise. While surgery is out of the question, (dont want to risk them making it worse) acupuncture has been suggested to me as an alternative. Ive been told that treatments are relatively inexpensive and that they can and will solve my problem. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this method and what your feelings are on it. I'm willing to try anything at this point. | | | | | |

| | I'd say anything that might help, give it a go. I've found it helpful on some back and other problems but I know people have had experiences ranging from miracle cures to it not doing anything. I think it depends on the person. It can't hurt to try and maybe it'll do you some good. | | | | | | |

| | Hi Phaedra I think you're right about it depending on the person. Like many other things in life you have to go in with a positive attitude. I think the mind controls or can control the way you feel..The old adage "mind over matter" definately holds true. I really want help with this and am going to try it with an open mind and a positive attitude that it will help..Like I said, i'm willing to try anything at this point..OUCH...Thanks for responding.. | | | |

| | Hopefully it shouldn't hurt. The ones in my face were a bit twingey when I had acupuncture for other ailments, but ones in the back and arms I didn't even feel. I didn't know the needle was in until I saw it there! Good luck! | | | |

| | Please don't expect any treatment method to do wonders. All a patient must possess is, 1. Patience, 2. Willing to accept, 3. Faith in the healer and 4. Faith in the system 5.Faith in spiritual eternity. Accupuncture proved to be very good in nerv problems, pain and paralysis. | | | |

| | Hi much2say Thanks so much for sharing your experienc with me. I'm even more excited about it now. I love how they proved the Dr.s wrong..In my case, the Dr, after examining me, right away is ready to operate..Knife happy I call it. Sometimes I dont think they really care if surgery is needed or not,,its all about the insurane money..not all Dr.s but a lot of them are like this..I'll avoid surgery at all costs and am definately going to try what the Orientals have been doing for thousands of years,,and successfully,,Thanks again | | | |

| | Yes when I was pregnant I had bad headaches and they used the needles to cure them. I also used it to quit smoking and still 3 years out I am not smoking. | | | | | | |

| | I have a friend who is currently pregnant. She's had major lower back pains, so her accupuncture treatments are helping her cope with the pain. That's great it helped you to quit smoking - that's amazing! I heard it's helped some people to lose weight too - but I don't know anyone personally who has gotten accupuncture treatment for that. | | | |

| | Hi OpinionatedLady Wow, quit smoking? Thats fantastic..and I'm sure that you were forever grateful to get rid of the headaches..How long did it take to quit smoking and how did they do it and how long does it last? Do you have to keep going back or is it a one time thing..I'm so interested. Thanks | | | |

| | They put little hair thin pins up by your ears toward your hair line that stay in for a few days and you smoke regular then you go back and get new pins and you decrease the amount you smoke. I wasn't a big smoker so I only had to go three times (I smoked like 4 cigs. a day but just couldn't get rid of the 4). A cousin had to go a little longer but he smoked 2 packs a day for like 30 years. His guy did it a little different, I don't know if it goes by the person doing it or the person getting it or both. | | | |

| | I have always wanted to try acupuncture. I think it would help you out. If it is not that expensive you should go for it. I would love to be able to afford it and try it out. I do not have any experience with it nor do I know anyone who has. I would give it a try. I do think that chiropractors work and I have frequented one in the past. I would give it a try if I were you. | | | | | | |

| | I'm with you Shelly and just as soon as this cast comes off, I'm making an appointment..I was quoted 25.00 per session which is a small price to pay to be rid of the pain..I don't think my insurance covers it either because it is an "elective" procedure, not a required one..You pay all that money for health insurance than try to use it...such a joke..Thanks for your good wishes and I will post my results when the time comes..Thanks for responding | | | |
