Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize!!

ya, but why did he win it? I am reading somewhere else that the nominations for these awards were made two weeks after he took office. Whatever he did, he must of done before that point or in just those two weeks.

he got award for the extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and corporation between the people..

and....just what did he do....up to two weeks after he went into office that fits that description?

umm..ya, letters of invite were sent out to the potental candidates last sept. before there were any certainty of his election even.

whatever he did to make himself worthy was done outside the presidency I guess....

How do you know he was nominated in the first two weeks of his presidency? According to the Nobel rules, the names of the nominees are not disclosed and the records are sealed for fifty years.

I also think it's not always the person who works his but off who makes the most difference. When Princess diana hugged that man with AIDS, she did more to remove the stigma of the disease than all the dedicated, hard working AIDS activists on the face of the earth. Maybe, the Nobel committee recognized that President Obama's sincere efforts to bring the US back to the table will further World Peace. Maybe, they are just glad to have us back. If nothing else, his award recognizes the importance of America's role in world diplomacy and I do not see how that can possible be a bad thing.
