I hate having this dream |
I had one of those crazy dreams where I was out somewhere and it was time to leave and I could not remember where I had parked my car. So then I spend all this time walking around and around looking for it and getting more and more frantic by the moment when I can not find it.
What could possibly cause such a crazy dream? Why do we have to go through such an experience during a time when we are supposed to be pleasantly and peacefull y relaxing through eight blissful hours of sleep?
The truth is I hate any dream that does not allow me to wake up rested and refreshed but this dream in particular is pretty annoying.

3. mommaj (1077) | 3 months ago | Seriously, I have to ask if this has ever happened to you. I have actually done that and I was wide awake! Is this just a fear of yours or a memory? Chances are really good something happened that day to trigger the dream. It could have been something happened that gave you that same feeling, or maybe you lost something, or forgot to do something that was important to you.

Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | I am always having trouble finding something or other in this mess of disorganization where you can't remember where you last had something. Tomorrow is payday so things will hopefully start to be on the upswing again.

mommaj (1077) | 3 months ago | LOL. Am I psychic or do I just remember things, dejavu?

Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | It's cold today and all I want to do is sleep!
| |
mommaj (1077) | 3 months ago | LOL. It's in the 70's here. I absolutely love this weather. We went to the zoo for a couple of hours. They were closing early because they have a night thing called boo in the zoo. We aren't going to that because quite honestly, I don't have the money. The pass I bought for the year was bad enough, but we have more than got our money out of it.
| |
Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | They do boo at the zoo here as well and the tickets are expensive!
| |
mommaj (1077) | 3 months ago | I think it is expensive. Of course anything over $15 is expensive to me. LOL
| |
Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | Well I just saw an email from them today and the tickets are more affordable now but still, for families with more than one or two kids it adds up quickly!
| |
mommaj (1077) | 3 months ago | It definitely adds up quickly. I don't see how families go on excursions more than once a month. LOL
| |
Canellita (3275) | 2 months ago | Forget excursions! What about going out to dinner or the movies? Even once per week it is so expensive.
| |
mommaj (1077) | 2 months ago | HAHAHA. Movies? We rent movies from the library once a week. LOL I am thinking about buying some games and having game night as well! It would certainly lower our electric bill if we were all in one room with one light on. lOL

Canellita (3275) | 2 months ago | HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! I am ROFLOL! You are hysterical. Yes, it more than likely would save. Perhaps it is time for you to explore alternative forms of energy. Get the kids a biycle they have to pedal to watch tv!

4. greeneyedlady (552) | 3 months ago | Hi Canellita! Oh I hate having dreams like that also that and then of course to make it worse you wake up stressed and Not rested and then you have to face an entire day of work etc.!
I've always heard that it is something in your subconscious that causes you to have those weird types of dreams. Not necessarily that you Will loose your Car in this instance but supposedly everything seems to have a symbol so the loosing your Car in your dream does not necessarily mean Car!!! It's amazing how complex the mind is even during what is suppose to be our most relaxing time of the day!
| |
| |
angelajoy (981) | 3 months ago | I think the same. Maybe the dream has a symbolic meaning. I've read in a psychology book that our society teaches us to censor some things because we might step on each other's toes, so sometimes when we dream our mind uses symbols so as to censor some things. Sometimes when we can't face something our mind uses symbols in our dreams to convey the message that we can't really think about consciously when we are awake. No matter how troublesome a thing is and no matter how much effort we make to put it at the back of our minds, our subconscious thoughts will always find a way of getting out.
| |
greeneyedlady (552) | 3 months ago | So true Angelajoy, our subconscious is so powerful and I believe in reality it really does rule our lives, even though we don't realize it!
| |
Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | I get lots of messages through dreams. I guess the message in this one is to pay more attention to where I put things! LOL!

5. Hatley (21325) | 3 months ago | hi canellita I have similar dreams only I am on foot, and lost, and walk and walk, and end up in an area where it is all industrial buildings and big machines, and dirt in big mounds. I am frantic trying to find my way back to town and the JC Penny store which I was headed to, and never found. I wake up exhausted and so glad it was a dream and I am not lost at all. grrr. so scary. The awful part is that I have had much the same dream over again several times. The thing is that horrid frantic feeling that you just cannot figure out how to get out of this jam.I wish I knew what causes dreams like you had and I have had.they are so awful.
| |
| |
Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | I have had a similar situation sometimes if I am driving in the dream. The car will suddenly become something else or I will suddenly be walking. I used to have dreams about roads disappearing or running out in marshes, or the brakes not working, even before I really started driving. Used to "drive" me nuts!

6. kelly10 (222) | 3 months ago | I think that everyone has a dream that is constant to themselves and most of them will probably hate it. As others have said it seems like your dream is to do with stress or fear. Feelings in your waking life that you either don't understand or deal with often manisfest themselves in your dreams. It's a kind of coping mechanism so that you can rid yourself of the stress so that your waking life isn't affected. One thing I would count your self lucky on is that you don't have a recurring dream that comes true. Many people, myself included, have dreams of events that then happen. You always know that it's been one of 'those' dreams, and then you really do wake up feeling stressed and worried. Has anyone else ever had dreams that have come true?
| |
| |
Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | I just find the dreams annoying. I would much rather dream pleasant things.
| |
kelly10 (222) | 3 months ago | Like I said there is something in your life that is effecting you. Some sort of stress, fear, or worries are stopping you from relaxing and therefore having a good nights sleep without dreams that are stressing you out. It's a viscious circle so you have to find the cause of your worries etc and rid yourself of them. Are you a good sleeper and do you follow the same pattern each night, ie going to bed at the same time, eating or drinking just before, watching TV? The reason I ask this is that you maybe doing something that is stopping you from relaxing. I would be very interested in knowing.
| |
Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | I don't follow a specific pattern and my habits on the weekends are different than Monday through Thuursday. The last two nights I went to bed early and woke up either at dawn or before the sun. I still had some crazy (thought noet stressful) dreams but I was more rested.
I finally got paid (waited a month) so I am sure that helped.
| |
kelly10 (222) | 3 months ago | Try following a pattern to help you relax, and therefore de-stress, before going to sleep. One thing I find relaxing is to watch the last hour or so of TV in the dark. I suffer with insomnia and find that this helps me to switch off. As you don't follow a pattern maybe doing so will aid you in relaxing and then make you feel like sleeping without thinking about it and getting wound up. Let me know if you do this.
| |
Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | I have used TV, music, videos and all sorts of things to fall asleep at night. Lately (the past week or so) I have been too tired for it to be an issue and I am not having quite so many crazy dreams, at least not the ones that make me feel more tired.
| |
kelly10 (222) | 2 months ago | It really does seem that your dreams were stress induced, and this was also affecting your sleep. I find dreams are very interesting subject and have always wondered why some people dream and others don't.
Another trick I have for relaxing to help me sleep is playing a game on my DS. I find this helps me to switch my brain off as I'm concentrating on one thing only.
| |
Canellita (3275) | 2 months ago | I have used the games on my computer sometimes to wind down and clear my head before going to sleep. I am sleeping much better these days in that the dreams have not been stressful.
| |
kelly10 (222) | 2 months ago | Glad to hear that you are sleeping better and the dreams are better. It realy is a great feeling when you wake up after a relaxing, peaceful sleep and feel wonderful. I just wish that I could help myself and actually get some sleep. I suffer with insomnia and rarely feel able to sleep, now that is a terrible feeling.
| |
Canellita (3275) | 2 months ago | Try valerian and cammomile. Both are clamative herbs that can help you sleep.
| |
kelly10 (222) | 2 months ago | Thanks for the tip, but I'm not able to take any kinds of herbal medicine. This is because I have epilepsy which I take medication for, and the doctors are not sure how it would effect me or the medication as herbal medicines are tested as much as 'normal' medication. So I've been told to just stay clear completely. I do find that drinking green tea is quite relaxing so on bad days I have a cup of that and use a lavender fragrance plug-in, I can't remember the fancier name for it!
| |
Canellita (3275) | 1 month ago | In that case yoga or meditation could help.

7. pede_22 (156) | 3 months ago | I think it's just a fruit in our night sleep...It happened sometimes when we are stressed with our works. Bad dreams came and you could not control for it... But, not all of the times we experienced that because there are dreams that are so nice, incredible, and meaningful. lol...

Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | That may be so, but personall I prefer the dreams that are nice and pleasant. They don't have to be meaningful, although incredible sounds good!

8. scheng1 (1695) | 3 months ago | haha, probably your mind is telling you to exercise more. Since you are not able to walk so much during the daytime, you have to walk in your dream. I wonder if your legs ache after so much walking. Maybe your brain will get tired of asking you to find cars, and the next thing is to find food in the forest. That will be much tougher terrain to walk.

9. pcruz77 (437) | 3 months ago | I think your dream suggests that you embarked on a journey, perhaps a new beginning, but then when it was time for you to return, you forgot where you started from. That park car could be a symbol of where you had started before on this journey of enlightenment or perhaps a vacation, or something else.
And looking for your car can also be that you knew where you were, but you couldn't recognize where you came from. This could be a message for you to rediscover yourself. This is something that most people should embark on.

Canellita (3275) | 3 months ago | Oh no! I would have lost my mind and reported the car stolen. Once I was working in an office and I thought I had noted where I parked my car and when I returned to the space in the parking garage at the end of the day it was not there! Fortunately I found it on a different level.
