Snow on top of fall colored trees, weird sight, and first time I've ever seen it

The deciduous trees didn't have their yellow, orange, or red leaves off and they were covered with snow in the higher elevations. No I didn't have a camera with me on my way to the Doctors, but I hope someone did. In all my years, I've never seen such a site. Usually the leaves are off those trees before the snow hits. It was a strange mix of seasons. Have you ever had or seen a strange mix of seasons? What has the weather been like the last couple of days where you are? Thanks and take care.

Your description of this pretty sight sounds amazing. I have seen it snow with leaves still on the trees here in Missouri. I have seen it snow out with the sun brightly shining and have seen it rain with the sun out. Saw this in Florida several years ago where it rained on one side of the street and was sunny on the other side. This usually doesn't happen here. It's been raining in our area for several days. We haven't seen the sun for about a week. Just heard on the news the sun will be out this Sunday. Don't recall the news people letting us know when the sun will be out. I don't mind having rainy days but don't like it when it gets cooler as it has been the last couple of weeks. Sure hope winter isn't moving in early this year.

We may have a very long winter. Too cold here for Oct. Had to turn on our furnace last month and that's unusual.

Seems like it's coming early here. There was a weather line betweem my neighbor's farm and ours, not all the time, but quite often. We would have rain, look down the road and they didn't have any. Or we would have no rain and look down the road and it was pouring buckets there. We thought that was pretty wild, but it happened quite often.

Our furnace has been kicking on since the end of September. In 30s at night since then and has beeen dipping into the 20s at night lately. The leaves in my garden are keeping some things from freezing.

Here in Ohio it is cold, unusally cold for this time of year. I bet that was a sight to see, strange looking. Weirdest thing I have ever seen is it snowing really hard and it lightening at the same time. I had been out for the night and had a few and thought to my self, now is that real.

Think it was New Years Eve or around then, I had to stand a minute and decide it was really doing it, not just one too many drinks.

Snowing and lightening? I don't recall ever seeing that. That must have been kind of freaky. Did it happen near Halloween? That would be one of those things where it would take awhile to believe your eyes.

The weather here has been 30 to fifty degrees colder than normal here this last week. It has been damp, chilly and very wet today. No snow in MY part of Kansas, but I think out near Colorado they have had some snow. I have seen big fluffy snowfalls in October before, though. Something like thirteen years ago, I believe, we had a beautiful snow on Halloween.

30 to 50 degrees colder, wow! We've had snow at the end of October before, too, but you're farther down than us, so I'm surprised that you have. I feel sorry for outdoor trick-or-treaters when that happens.

First time with snow on leaves for me. Plus I had to go to the higher elevations to see it. So it's not that unusual for you. Most unusual snow storm we had was a NorEastern Blizzard in June. That was wild. I snowshoed in June after the NorEastern calmed down. So heavy snow in April, we've had once in awhile. But in my 51 years of being alive, that was amazing for snow in June and not just a little of it.

In 1976, in Denton Texas, there was an early November snowfall, there were FLOWERS in the snow - beautiful, but strange

well, in part I remember because that was the ONLY year it could've been, but also they were like African marigolds - an orange/bronzie color - we liked it so much we took pictures - someplace I might still have them

I know better than to ask you to post them, I remember last time I asked that. That must have been dramatic with the color difference. Neat!

I bet that was awesome. It made such an impression that you even remember what year. Do you remember what kind of flowers or what color they were?

Yes, I remember once. It was March 21st (Spring equinox). It snowed that day, and it was abnormal. Because that day means it is nearby the middle of spring. I found abnormal weather is more common than before in fact. But the scene you saw is normal here. Many trees here are evergreen. Hence even if in winter and snow heavily. We often see the trees with their green leaves covered by white snow.

Yeah, we see evergreen needles covered with snow in the winter, but not the deciduous leaves that are yellow, orange, and green covered with snow. So white on top and yellow, orange, red or green-deciduous green was a new one for me. Trust me, it looks way different than evergeen covered, very strange. We've had snow on Spring Equinox, but not on the Autumn one. We had snow in June one time, that was very abnormal. This was our earliest Fall snow. Usually end of October or beginning of November. But one year we didn't get snow until the day before Christmas. You're right, unusual is getting to be more usual. The weather patterns do seem to be shifting.

sometimes in early spring you will see snow on trees that have buds. I think we are going to get some really cold unseaonable weather. It is supposed to rain. I jus think that it will not be nice again until next week, although today was a lovely day.

Yes, this time of year is strange sometimes. I hate to see snow on trees with buds. Puts sooo much stress on them and some die. I hope that doesn't happen very much where you are.
