Have you ever seen a Sphynx cat before? |
|
I was at the mall and I always love going into the pet shop and visiting all the animals. I always come out sad though because I want to take them home..lol...but anyway, I saw these two kittens that had no hair! I went over and took a look at them and they were all wrinkly and gray. Very odd really for a kitty. I think there is some kind of legends associated with these cats. Eygptian maybe. I know the were $1400 a piece! Have you ever seen one? Check this out. http://www.gopetsamerica.com/profiles/sphynx.aspx

JenInTN (3627) | 2 months ago | Wow! I had no idea they would be so fragile! I could see why though since they have no hair. I thought when I saw them at the pet store that maybe their hair grew in a little later but now that I've seen the adult photos of them, I guess I was wrong..lol.

2. kent_help2smile (1765) | 2 months ago | I just saw a Sphynx today, thanks to JenInTN. I felt sad about the Cat because she is hairless. She is helpless in weather. But Since Philippines is a Tropical. She might live for years.

JenInTN (3627) | 2 months ago | I felt kind of sad about the ones I saw in the pet store too..lol..I wanted to hold them because they were shivering somewhat. I bet they would do really well there. I think they are native to Eygpt. Thanks for responding.

| |
|
|
JenInTN (3627) | 2 months ago | Oh no..they are little to expensive for me. Besides that, I have enough little Chihuahuas shivering around here to add a kitty..lol..

4. pergammano (1974) | 2 months ago | Good morning, dear Jen! I am such a mixed bag of contradictions....I hate the artificiallity of Pet Shows.....but I can NOT pass one up for curiousities sake! So, yes, I have seen Spynx Cats! They conjure I thoughts of me runnning home and knitting a nice warm, Buffalo wool coat sweater for them. LOL! I am always amazed at the number of species in cats and dogs, that I have never been aware of! Do you visit Pet Shows! Hope your TN, weather is better than "Auntie Jo's" or ours right now! We just had our Thanksgiving weekend, and it was fraught with FRIGID weather, breaking over 80 COLD records! NO wonderful rainbows in our skies, so still am very thankful for the beautiful one you sent me. BIG, BIG, HUGZ, Jen!

pergammano (1974) | 2 months ago | Sorry...Jen, I was not referring to televised shows...I meant real live Pet Shows. That is what I am a sucker for, yet I hate the plasticality of it all, assuming that these poor animals would sooner be home, lollygagging! LOL!
How do you keep your wee little mites (chihauha's) warm...? And did you keep the whole family? Hoping your weekend is spectacular...and BIG HUGZ!

pergammano (1974) | 2 months ago | AWH....JEN.....way, way toooo cute! What a delight "Eva" must be? Alright, fess up...how many babies did you keep? IT is only TOOO hard to let any of them go! When my "Westie" Moki, had her litters, I think adoption agencies shud have taken a lesson from me! Personal home inspections, many chats...and a kazillion follow up visits!
And, one more question....what the "hey" are you doing up at this time of the day?It is 3:42 a.m. here, is it around 5 a.m. in TN? All summer I started work at 4 to 4:30 a.m., so can't break the habit? Do you work today?
One of these days I will learn how to post pics...here! LUV & HUGZ!

pergammano (1974) | 2 months ago | Jen...Good Morning! Is their truly a reason you have to let him go? At one time, I hate to admit it....but I had five, yes, five dogs! Right now, I am seriously thinking of getting another, as just because I am solitary, doesn't mean my dog has to be! LOL! I know you have family, a lot of commitments, but they are such good company for each other....(you can see I am trying to jade your decision)! I also never felt sooooo bad, when I had to leave them home alone! And...I don't think they prefer the company of "your dearest daughter's" amphibian friends..LOL! Have a truly wonderful Sunday....can't send a rainbow, as there is NO end to the rain...but how about a big bouquet of HUGZ!

5. sacmom (5826) | 2 months ago | I'm pretty sure that I have. It was when I went to either Petco or PetsMart a few years back. I haven't gone to either of these places in a while so I haven't seen any since.
I have to say I couldn't imagine owning one. For me, a cat isn't a cat unless it has fur! And at that price it better have a lot! LOL
Happy mylotting!

|
|
JenInTN (3627) | 2 months ago | LOL..at that price it might should poopoo some gold too..LOL..That is a very expensive pet. It is strange to see a cat without fur. I pet one and it was strangly soft..like it had peach fuzz all over him.

6. ElicBxn (15217) | 2 months ago | I saw one at a cat show a long time ago, but other than that - no, not in person
I think I like my cats with fur - actually, I like my cats with short fur (only have 3 long haired in the bunch) and tails, all mine have tails, I wouldn't mind a poly-toed cat, but haven't gotten one of those yet either
| |
| |
|
|
JenInTN (3627) | 2 months ago | What's a poly-toed cat? When I pet the kitten at the pet store...he was soft like he had fuzz on him. I can't remember if he had a tail or not.
| |
|
|
ElicBxn (15217) | 2 months ago | cats with extra toes or a Hemingway cat they are sometimes called - nope, all mine are just nice, normal cats, but they are SPECIAL, because they are MINE!
| |
|
|
JenInTN (3627) | 2 months ago | Oh..ok...I had a cat once with 6 toes on each of his front paws. It was strange looking but it was the sweetest cat.

JenInTN (3627) | 2 months ago | Heyya anniefannie! Yep..they have more money than me for sure. Noway I could afford an investment like that. I often leave the petstore wanting one of those $1500 birds..but I'll never get one..lol..Thanks for responding.

8. Shar19 (2771) | 2 months ago | I've seen these cats before. I never understand the fascination over them though. I think those cats always look sickly.
| |
| |
|
|
JenInTN (3627) | 2 months ago | Hi Shar! They are very strange. I guess in a way they do look ill. I think it's because of their lack of fur..we are used to healthy cats having healthy looking fur. Thanks for responding.
