Edu Manzano, Bongbong Marcos, and Grace Poe for senator?

When I first learned that FPJ's daughter was contemplating bidding for a senate seat, I literally went "WHAT??? NOOOO!!!" I don't have anything against her. In fact, basing on her interviews and how she speaks, I can see that she has a good head on her shoulders. But, having one doesn't necessarily give one the right to aspire for a seat in the government. Has she proven anything yet? I don't think so. As far as Edu is concerned, well, he is a public servant and I think he's got a better head than most of those already in the seat of power. Now about Bongbong? No contest here. I think Bongbong is more than qualified. 'Nuff said.

Anyway, Is he really seriously running for the presidency ( again?! ) next year? I mean, I thought that was just a running joke or something. hahahahaha. And what's up with the senatorial line up? jinggoy and the son of JDV ( whathisnameagain?!).. proven trapos.. we need a new face in the senate ( But that new face does not include a daughter of a late candidate ) .. hahaha. Please, don't think that it's your obligation to run for a government position just because your last name is Estrada, or de Venecia, or Arroyo, or even Marcos....

okay I'm stopping now. my blood pressure's already rising. hahaha.

a losing slate, i say. bong bong marcos, while he's a marcos is not just as brilliant a politician as his late father or even just as charismatic as his imeldific mother that's why he's a perennial loser in his attempts to become a senator. grace poe? her claim to fame is just her surname poe and nothing else, but people barely know her as the daughter (is she really a biological daughter of fernando poe?), what would she do as an honorable senator of the philippines? try to resurrect fpj? so why not susan roces poe, instead? she's more popular and palaban! hehe!

and look at the list, they even included father and son joe de venecia and joey de venecia! and again koko pimentel (son of nene pimentel). they have a grand scheme of creating dynasties in the senate (now with the cayetanos in it).

I'd rather pick some one from the one who's experienced rather these three. although Bongbong is a politician, i fear that he's rising that he might bring back the horrors of Martial Law to our country. call me paranoid, but this is really not the type of candidates that i want in my list. Grace Poe? i hope people would learn a great deal of lesson regarding voting people who are popular, and thus they should vote based on experience,record and conduct..

I may have not chosen yet the list of senatoriables whom I will support this coming May 2010 election but for sure those three are not in my list.

I hope the elections will be peaceful.

I can understand Edu and Bongbong running. You're right. Edu has had political ambitions for a long time and he took his time by gunning for local government first (did he ever win? I'm not sure). Bongbong, of course, comes from a political (does he ever!) family and has for a long time served as a legislator. I'd be leery about him, of course. It would take an incredibly amazing public service record for me to look past the name. Grace Poe has always stayed away from the limelight. I wonder why she'd feel compelled to run (is there some feeling of vendetta here - like avenge her father's loss at the presidency or something? Even then, it doesn't make sense. This is completely the wrong arena, jmo). I don't know what her educational or professional background is. I wouldn't consider voting for anybody who has no prior experience in legislative work or public service. Even if Edu does have some experience, I'd really rather elect people who have the mettle of the statesmen of old. Note my wistful tone.:)

I promised myself not to respond to discussions on politics, coz I can become a little "passsionate" for my own peace of mind. But this one's too tempting, and I decided to succumb.

I watched the news on TV about Erap's line up, and all I can say is, it's very Erap. Its' star-studded, apparently not giving enough thought on "content". What has Bongbong done so far that made him stand out? I can't think of anything. Edu Manzano would be better off doing game shows, and he should go back to acting, I miss him on the big screen, I'm a fan. He's principled but I guess not armed enough for the job of a senator. And who's the last one? Grace Poe? Who is she, other than bearing the family name of the late Da King?

I don't even think Erap should run. If he does, Binay could eventually get the top position. I don't want that to happen. The country is in a total mess, and we don't need leaders who don't know how to lead...I rest my case.

Edu and Bongbong have proven that they're both good in politics. I would like to keep an open mind when it comes to Grace (I thought Lovi is the only daughter of FPJ...). It's too early to tell since most of the people don't know anything about her yet and I wouldn't want to take it against anybody who has the intention to run for politics, in fact it should be welcomed. I think it's high time for people who have good intentions to run for public office to come out and show their desire and not just leave the politicking to the trapos. I would like to see her qualifications and platforms, if she's qualified then why not?

Edu Manzano already resigned as an Optical media board chairman. Bongbong Marcos is qualified since he have been in politics for several years now. Grace Poe, what on Earth is the reason she is running in the first place? Because she carry her dad's name? Well if they will run for Senators, they can still run even if we don't want isn't it? Those running for Senators have qualification and I don't know the list of qualification, as long as this person will truly serve the public why not.

Not really enthusiastic with the mentioned names as contenders for the senatorial seat. Among them, Marcos has the most experience and background to boot to make it as a senator. Manzano, I would rather watch him on his show but if he does decide to run as he now claims that no clear plans have been made after Jinggoy's announcement of his father's political plans and line-up, I wish him the best of luck. (love his show . Poe is too young and inexperienced for the Senate, I am not undermining her abilities and her intentions but she still has a lot to prove.
