What's the most stupid thing you did when you were younger? email this discussion to a friend?

When i was in first grade, I had this classmate who told me that putting chilli on your forehead will take away headache so we both got some chilli from the school's garden and rubbed them on our foreheads. That's when I realized that she might have been correct because I actually forgot my headache but it's because my eyes got too hot and way way more unbearable than my headache. Our classmates panicked because they couldn't give us water to wash our faces because it might worsen the case. i really don't remember now what happened after that incident and how we managed to clean our faces. i would never wanna remember that experience again.. very stupid of me.

I hit a small pebble on my sister's forehead ( actually we were playing). Even today I regret what I did & thank God nothing serious happened. Today, just a minute scar can be noticed on her forehead.

myLot reputation of 98/100. calai618 (725)   ranked 32 out of 859 in hanging out with friends  3 months ago

Really? If that had happened to me, i would surely regret that until now too. What's bad is that the evidence of our stupidity can still be seen..:( I hope your sister is totally okay with that..

Well not sure of my age at the time. I think i was around six maybe. There were these little ball things that were on the end of antennas. Smaller then a marble. Well i can't remember exactly what both my brother and I were doing but some how i managed to end up swallowing the ball part cause it could unscrew off the top. Anyways my brother told me to drink a big glass of water. And we never told no one else cause didn't want to get in trouble. So im sure its long gone through my digestive system now. LOL.

Lol. that's usually what young kids do, not tell about what they had done or lie about it. they don't wanna get punished or afraid of getting laughed at.that is why we'd rather deal with troubles ourselves than tell others haha..

Hi calai, my cousin and me wrote letters, supposedly from our mothers, requesting we be allowed to go home at lunch time. The ridiculous part was we thought we would get away with it. We were met at the front of the school by our mothers, and were then confronted by our teacher, who had alerted them. They all had a good laugh, and we weren't punished.

myLot reputation of 98/100. calai618 (725)   ranked 32 out of 859 in hanging out with friends  3 months ago

Wow lucky you, you weren't punished! But wasn't that embarrassing? I bet if your classmates knew about how you were busted, they'd be laughing their butts off or maybe teasing you too. That's usually what happened when we were younger at school lol.

myLot reputation of 98/100. mipen2006 (2434)  3 months ago

Can't remember much about how the rest of the class reacted. This was nearly sixty years ago now, so I suppose that's understandable.

I had something similar happen!

In second grade my teacher brought in a chili plant. It was beautiful! She said not to touch it but not why. Of course, I touched it! Then I rubbed my eye--OUCH!! I didn't want her to know that I'd been so stupid so I sat there calmly while my eye felt like it was burning up. When recess came I went to the bathroom and drenched my eye till it felt a little better!

After that, I always asked why!

myLot reputation of 98/100. calai618 (725)   ranked 32 out of 859 in hanging out with friends  3 months ago

Woah..did you do that out of curiosity or you just totally forgot that you touched the plant? Stupid chilli plant..It's proven already. lol.

myLot reputation of 96/100. dragon54u (9618)   ranked 158 out of 859 in hanging out with friends  3 months ago

I did it out of curiosity. I have always been curious and if someone tells me not to do something I'm sorely tempted to do it! I was very proud of myself for having enough self control that Mrs. Laird didn't know I'd disobeyed her. But my eye was so red, I'm sure she saw it and knew and didn't want to embarrass me in front of the class, she was a very compassionate person and a great teacher!

I don’t remember how old I was; I think I was quiet young, about five maybe. I decided to light some candles and let the wax drip on my fingers, I think I was trying to cover my hands with wax like a glove...I know...Pretty silly! As you can imagine, I poured the wax on my thumb and that was enough! I had a blister the size of a marble and I still recall screaming my head off as my mother was attempting to burst it and disinfect it!shocked

myLot reputation of 98/100. calai618 (725)   ranked 32 out of 859 in hanging out with friends  3 months ago

I use to do that too!!!! I would light candles and let them drip onto my palm..didn't know what I was thinking really.. lol

It is a wonder what any of us were thinking when we were younger, maybe we weren't thinking at all!happy

At naptime in Kindergarten our teacher would often take a bathroom break. As soon as the door door closed, someone would always yell, "Teacher's gone!" and we would all sit up and talk. Then one day no one yelled when she left the room, so I sat up and did it. Unfortunately, I didn't see that the school nurse had slipped in and was sitting in a chair in the corner! I was caught in the act with the whole class for witnesses.

Woah..busted! lol If that had happened to me, I would have died right that very moment.. I'd be so embarassed..

I think I know a lot of kids like that but I can't remember if I was the same when I was younger..My sister however was different, she would eat her stool when she was younger.. My father was the one who said that and my mother confirmed it so it might really just be true.. disgusting!!!

I tried to fix our night light with the portrait of virgin mother in it and its quite nice to see when its dark. However, the electric cord was too short so I cut the cord and connected it with longer cord. But at that time I did not realise that there are two cords (positive and negative). Before we slept that night, I told my father to plug it in and we had a short circuit at home, we didn't have electricity all night. Was not a very smart thing! I learned from it though, that I repaired a lot of our flourescent lights who were in storage and made them work again.

myLot reputation of 98/100. calai618 (725)   ranked 32 out of 859 in hanging out with friends  2 months ago

I bet your father did not know upto now that you were the one to blame for that..lol..But it's good to know that bad things like that can actually turn out to be positive:D

jenyenh (94)  2 months ago

Oh my father did know. The whole family knew when we didnt have power the whole night! It was a lesson learnt from me and that I know it by heart now.

Well,

1. When I was veeery young I mistook an ammost finished bar of blue soap for chewing-gum and I ate it.

2. Not so much older, I thought the vey old woman owner of the bar I used to go was a beggar and I gave her money. In my head there was a connection: old/bad-looking/poor. Don't ask me why, I don't know.

3. When I was in first grade the teacher was explaining how plants make roots, and she did it by putting beans in the cotton. In the afternoon I went to the shop with my mum and while she was buyng fruits I picked one bean of any kind there was in the shop and as soon as I went home I gave them to my mum proudly, without realzing they were STOLEN. My mum was so shocked I still remember it, and I could never ever steal anything, not ever a bean, again.

There would be more, I just have to think about it...

your number 2 is very stereotypical but really funny and embarassing..I don't even want to ask what te reaction of the woman was.. hehe..your number 3 I think is something that a lot of us are guilty of..children really are prone to that without their knowledge of course..hehe

myLot reputation of 71/100. XiaoLin (137)  2 months ago

Well, my mother saw the scene happening so she run to me and she took me away explaining me thet she was sitting there (on a chair, not on the floor) because the shop was hers, not because she was asking for money. I don't really remember the reaction of the old woman. I wasn't even embarassed. The one who was very very embarassed was my mother, though.
She was used to being embarassed by things I would say in public, though. Once I heared some women chatting in a shop, talking in dialect. My parents aren't from the place where we were living, so we never spoke any dialect at home. I asked aloud wich language were they speaking, because I didn't recognise it as Italian.

Soon as I read the discussion question, the first thing that struck was the chewing gum incident. I still can't believe I could be so dumb as I was on that day when I had bought a handful of gums on eat on my school trip and a friend bluntly told me that chewing gums are detrimental to health and I came to believe it seriously. To top that, he even asked me to hand over the gums to him which he would later on dispose of at a rightful place, to which I thankfully agreed. Many years hence, we would still joke about this (now) stupid thing which I then did completely out of innocence.

myLot reputation of 98/100. calai618 (725)   ranked 32 out of 859 in hanging out with friends  2 months ago

lol that was funny.. based on ta you said, I am starting to believe that stupid things when we were little are actually meant to happen just so we have to laugh at when we get older or else life would be boring..hehe
