There is no place like Hell, but there is separation from eternal Life! |
|
There are many souls that will not exist in the life after this life has ended.
What marks you for eternal separation?
What is the greatest sin?
How do you gain eternal life? (The action - not that we believe in Jesus! For you can believe in Jesus and the resurrection of Jesus and still you might not have eternal life... (one for the theologians to reconsider...)

1. learn2earn (10321) | 1 month ago | I believe that you have the answers to your questions, the way I analyze your questions and the description you have given. There is a very wonderful word which is "FAITH". Yes, faith is the one word which separates those who truly believe and those who profess to believe but in their heart and mind, it's not true. Faith that is placed upon Jesus Christ is the only thing we need to be saved. After we are saved from the penalty of sin, we surely will do good works as a result of a true faith in Jesus. Have a wonderful day.

starsailover (850) | 1 month ago | Hi learn2earn: Once again i have the pleasure to read your words that inspire me a very religious feeling: FAITH, what's that matter, what makes the difference between thos e who beleive in Jesus and his words and does who act like that but can understand what god says in his holy words. Thanks for your reflexion.

TheGreatWhiteBuffalo (1437) | 1 month ago | Just take that faith one step further, for just a belief is not enough, Jesus taught us that we must repent of our sins...
Let's take a real example, something that happened between me and my wife (former) she is involved in having me involuntarily committed on false accusations, as a result I lose my Church membership... Okay' now she wants to rejoin singing in the Church Choir... I'm still licking my wounds from the abuse of being assaulted and she can't tell me when exactly she is to perform. She mentions it to me when I am totally distracted or engrossed in computer activities, this woman does this in front of our children and they think that I have been sufficiently informed of the activities of my spouse. The question is if I didn't hear what was imparted to me how can I be held responsible for knowing what I did not hear?
How do you resolve such a condition?
Are the children right in accusing me of not paying proper attention to my spouse and the needs of the family? Consider that the children were not invited to listen to their mother sing, something that I would enjoy listening to but not over the threshold of any building created by man to promote Organized Religious Dogma!
Freedom of religion should also include freedom freom religion when religion has caused harm to any or many individuals!
Right is right,
True is always true...

sailor10 (598) | 1 month ago | The issue here is between you and your family members. That is best left to you to sort out,if you are looking for outside intervention then so beit. Eternal life...that has to be earned by you.Faith and belief are essential but self realization must be the goal. You have to evovlve to such an extent that you see yourself beyond your body and mind.when the awarenes sets in that you are not your body or mind but a pure soul you develop deatchment. As you grow in detachment and grow in your self observation there comes a time when you leave this life for good.there is no looking back then,I suppose you call it eternal life in your religion.

|
TheGreatWhiteBuffalo (1437) | 1 month ago | Ahh! Sailor,
While my issues are family issues they had a clear beginning brought about by violations of human rights, an injustice... What drives a human????
Certainly there is always a reflection of the past as we move forward, being self aware is only one aspect, there is always the history that will be available to be known and there are the generations to come...
So the Children are our future and they carry with them both the future and the past.
Everything changes and nothing changes...
The best thing to change is the amount of corruption in our present, for corruption is not a gift!
| |
|
|
sailor10 (598) | 1 month ago | the past is dead and needs to be given a decent burial. The future is unborn as yet so one need not fret and worry about it .So that leaves one with the present and what one chooses to do in the present(gift from God). One`s choice of action will result in consequences depending on what one chose to do.
But if one is going to attach oneself to the past and obsess about one`s future the present will keep slipping away and one will regret his lack of powerful action. keep lotting!

2. bird123 (1104) | 1 month ago | It is a blessing that God does not think like man. Man's thinking: If my kids don't do what I command, I won't save them. I'm going to separate them from myself for eternity. So there! God's Thinking. Yes, there are always a few wayward kids. I will send them lessons that bring understanding to that which they choose to do. Though this may hurt them. It is no more than the hurt they have given others. They will understand what they do. I will love each and every one of them unconditionally. They will all be eternal for I could never do without my children. I have the capability of creating universes. What are a few wayward children>>>NOT A PROBLEM!!!!
| |

|
|
TheGreatWhiteBuffalo (1437) | 1 month ago | The lost can not save those that know the truth...
There is a big problem if the children that are lost do not learn to be empathetic to the harm caused to others. They must repent of their sins (the harm that they have deliberately caused) the lack of accountability will keep them from an eternal life in a pure and holy state knowing the peace beyond all human understanding.
Read it again!
GOD is pure and holy, nothing that is not pure and holy will enter into a relationship with the true, pure and holy GOD...
Now define that pure and holy GOD!
Houston we have a big problem, what did Jesus teach?

| 3. skinnyman (22) | 1 month ago | I am currently studying theistic philosophical views on hell and life after death. The view that there is no hell but there is a seperation from eternal life is an anialationist (hope i spelt it right) view. This is followed by some christians and they are of the belief that the righteous go to heaven but, those who cannot make it to heaven do not go anywhere. Their soul just perishes. Kinda a weird view for me to accept really.
My only advice is, you will have to make your own mind up on what you believe. Aquinas is the boss at this kinda stuff. Im pretty sure that he had something to say on this.
The greatest sin is different for different people. Some would say that breaking the decalogue is the worst sin you can do as these are the laws handed by God. Or breaking the Jewish old testament laws. Your view on this will differ depending on what faith/ religious denomination you belong to.
| |
| |
|
|
starsailover (850) | 1 month ago | Hi skinnyman: This theological point of view sounds strange for me. It could be truth... or no, this topic is very deep for our understanding because we're talking about life after death. Even with that i will tell you that i decide to do the right thing not only because i know this make me go to heaven but because i think this is the way we all like human beings must act: loving each others, our brothers and enemies and make what god wants that we do.
| |
|
|
manong05 (2932) | 1 month ago | You are talking about annihilationists. A belief in eternal separation and destruction. Many students of theology are quick to quote St. Thomas Aquinas' 5 rational proofs or justifications for the existence of God and his Summa Theologiae has become a classic. However, the arguments are open ended and does not offer a clear and definitive answers to the profound questions in life.
At the end of the day, everything goes down to faith. Faith not in the sense of leaping in the dark but a complete trust and confidence in the Creator of life.
enjoy life.

TheGreatWhiteBuffalo (1437) | 1 month ago | A life lived is a life that lives forever, as we climb the mountain to the top we find our path narrow leading to eternal life if we follow one truth.
We need to repent of our sins beginning with asking to be forgiven from those that we have harmed!
Then we can come before GOD to ask for entry into the eternal kingdom that has and will exist forever.
Can the infinite be created? (think before answering this question, please!)

4. Pose123 (5700) | 1 month ago | Hi GreatWhiteBuffalo, I do not believe as you do but feel that there is really no death, just a transition from a physical to a spiritual body. I do not judge another and am content to say that it is all a great mystery, although I have my own thoughts on what follows just as others do. I see no reason to try to convince others to believe as I do. Blessings.

TheGreatWhiteBuffalo (1437) | 1 month ago | If a judge is guilty of misconduct even though man (our society) is likely not to pursue the violation does the judge that knowingly violate the human rights of individuals does that judge get a free pass to the heart of GOD???? (Really, I think a child could answer my question to you... I hope you can answer my question to you, not that you are to judge the judge, but the actions of the judge are a clear violation to the laws of Jesus the GOD that cam to earth... Or maybe you think all sin is good?
I don't know your heart until you shed some more light on these thoughts...
Rest assured you will reveal your true nature, not before me but before one who is pure and holy, and your judgment will be according not to my beliefs but to the belief of one with higher authority than I have to offer.
If you tremble it is not he work of I,
I wish you peace and blessings,

Pose123 (5700) | 1 month ago | Hi again GreatWhiteBuffalo, Christianity has so many different beliefs that I have no idea which one you favour. I have great respect for the teachings of Christ but not for what most Christian churches are teaching today. I know that we should not judge but when I look at the stand that the church has taken down through the years on such issues as slavery, women's rights and homosexuality, I see nothing to be proud of. Christianity or any other religion does not have a monopoly on goodness. There are probably more religious people in Prison than those who were taught no religion. Blessings.

TheGreatWhiteBuffalo (1437) | 1 month ago | Very interesting thoughts that you have...
What I believe is between me and the source of my life, personally...
I believe in an individual walk, I would add that in this walk there is room for family if the family is true and honest, working and walking together...
Now really what I believe has nothing to do with fighting corrosion and corruption in our local community expanding out to a global scale. Or to say this more appropriately to judge an innocent victim guilty because of their religious beliefs is religious oppression! Something that was once abolished, but again resurrected. My religion might encourage me to behave in a certain way which might need to be disclosed but to judge me religious by the measure of another person and their religion is just wrong. That is corrosive and corrupt!
One step further, does anyone have the right to tell me how I am to sexually behave or is that between me and my consenting partner. Should I parade my sexual practices in the face of the world? The opposite side of this is why do people want to bombard my world with their sexual practices? We should also be free to practice and be free from exposure of how other people parade their behaviors.
As a society we are sending out mixed and confusing messages, we contradict our own beliefs making us hypocrites and disingenuous.
Neutrality or being centered between right and wrong we need to be free to speak and to practice our own beliefs. We need to be free from big organizations which will manipulate our world in such a way as to control everyone.
Look at what the Health Care industry is trying to do to our Nation... Do we need a better example?
Now consider that most pharmaceutical companies have corporate ties right back to Israel. Everything ties right to the root of Religion or Sexual practices.
We have a pill for this and that, now don't we???

| 5. afarrell1 (92) | 1 month ago | I believe all souls will exist once their life here is done, it is a question ast o where they will exist. There is a Hell. I heard once that for every one mention of Heaven in the Bible, Hell is mentioned twice as much. It clearly states that the soul will live on in either Heaven or Hell.
I personally do believe there is a hell. It doesn't matter what the greatest sin is, if you are not saved you will go to hell for the smallest lie the same as the unrepentant murderer. If I had to put a perspective on the greatest sin I would think it would be pride taken to far - that was Lucifer's sin, pride. A person who is in sin and recognized such can ask for God's forgiveness, that is how you gain eternal life, not just believing in Jesus and the resurrection. Even demons believe in Jesus.
It is pride however that will stop a man from realizing what he is doing is wrong and damning him to torment for all eternity. It says in the Bible that you have to come to God with a contrite heart seeking forgiveness, so it isn't enough just to believe, but to also show remorse for what you've done, ask forgiveness, then strive to follow God's will daily.
Then there is the original human sin which I believe is disobedience to God, that's what got man kicked out of the garden in the first place and introduced sin into the world.

TheGreatWhiteBuffalo (1437) | 1 month ago | And your beliefs are founded in a book written by men who want you to believe what they also believe...
Do you have a mind of your own?
Is your interpretation of what was recorded about Jesus as shallow as your personal belief in people who are not equal to the level of Jesus?
You better read those Gospels once again...
It could be a matter of your eternal existence...
I'm sure you know the Religious community believed the world to actually be flat and was it really flat?
Then they changed the Bible when they found out they were wrong...
Could organized religion be wrong over and over again????
Hint: Read my story, you'll be certain to learn a lot about the true heart of people and their belief that they can change the world, with complete disregard for their own future...
Only fools believe in foolishness... Foolishness= lies...
"You know there are weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq??? (right?)
"You also know the way to peace is through war... (right?)

| afarrell1 (92) | 1 month ago | wow, I was just answering your question with what I thought to be a very thoughtful opposing point of view. Sorry, didn't realize you couldn't have an open discussion without it being driven into the dregs of futility.
So to address some of your issues with my stupidity. I don't recall the biblical scholars of the day saying anything about the world being flat and I don't know what re-write your talking about to accommodate a round earth? Please provide a reference so that I can read up on it. I might need some man to decipher it for me though cause I guess I just can't think for myself there after having studied several world religions while in college and deciding which best suited me.
Organized religion as a whole has made changes to the doctrines of their religion to suit their desires. A prime example is the catholic religion. It doesn't say in the Bible that a priest can't be married, it was a Pope who decided that it was God's ordinance that Priest's shouldn't marry because of his own Daughter's courtship of a lowly parish Priest. The message of salvation remains, Jesus died for you and you have the choice to accept him or not.
I also was not aware this was such a political conversation either. But I guess you've written me off as one of those right wingers who cling to their guns and Bibles? I don't think I would want to read any book written by you if all you can do is slam a post which doesn't fit into your world view. But I did go to your page and read your bit on Deceptive Evangelicals (because I am an Evangelical Christian) I was just wondering if you could tell me, what is our "true intention" that is hurting families? I'm afraid I didn't get that part of the indoctrination in my welcome package from the giant talking head in front of the curtain.
| |
|
|
TheGreatWhiteBuffalo (1437) | 1 month ago | Okay, it has taken me some time to get back to this you and your conversation, I'm sorry that I am living this human life with the pressures of surviving working and all of that stuff, your sarcasm will be returned but not in equal...
I will take the initiative to tone down... I hope you do the same so that we can have a meeting of our minds... (Defenses dropped)
First off as to the flat Earth issue, it is fifth grade or elementary education remember the story of Galileo? You know the Pythagorean theory where the ship sailing out to see on the horizon and the mast of the ship continues to sink??? Prior to that and challenging the theory of a spherical Earth was the Church... The flat Earth society was a doctrine of the creationist movement at that time, and people challenging the flat Earth belief could be killed for heresy. Heresy being equal to blasphemy...
Secondly, I had no knowledge of your gender when answering my query, I don't think men are any smarter than women and the first sin was a joke, why should women be punished and men only get a slap on the wrist?
Thirdly, indoctrination of the church begins at an early age, if you follow the teachings of the church there is nothing in your life that won't be a contradiction. Instead of just reading one of my writings I suggest you read what I have been through and look to the responses I received from my pastor.
First I was standing up for my innocence, what a good person I am, then we had a special meeting and he told me of how I should drop my case because even he had to drop a case where he proclaimed he was guilty but insisted he was innocent. After his conversation with me he then told me that I had a case of vocational profiling but warned me not to pursue my case. Like 'duh?' I didn't understand what he knew, and I still don't understand the point of giving up on the truth!
Some people feel there is more than one truth, that I will challenge, for obvious reasons.
The politics aside, it is very political, we are getting ready to elect some judges, do you know anything about any of the judges in your area?
Google judges by name and see what comes up...
Yep it is political...
I wish you peace and blessings,
Sincerely,
Gary

You will just stop coming back into a human being form but this is not really a separation. Why? Because your soul succeeded to go back to its source during your human life with all the information needed. 2. There isn't 3. You already have eternal life

It is by faith in the sense of trusting in the finished work of Christ and following His words. We take everything by faith and is evidenced by our works. For faith without works is dead.

Do I need to be more clear in my response?

10. DavidReedy (1671) | 1 month ago | Wow, a lot of poignant and deep commentaries there. Not sure, what, if there is a question... My greatest sins? A youthfulness filled with lust and intoxication--and shame from those actions leading to dishonesty... Yeah, I can look back at my life with open, honest eyes. I don't know about Hell, but if not a physical afterlife brimstone burning kinda' place, I can certain vouch for the Hell on earth--life without God, or Love, burning and disease from those sins, yeah, I know that one well. I don't know about the beliefs (or disbeliefs) in Christ, or acts or faith, though... Afterall, I know some who claim to be, and may very well be believe they are, Christian, who are horribly mean or dishonest or otherwise selfish people (likewise i know many more who are great people) similarly I know atheists, agnostics, and people of all faiths who are great humanitarians (and likewise I know evil people of all persuasions). I'd like to think that if "judgment" in an afterlife sense is real, that the One doing the judging would do so based on greater parameters than which we mere mortals could do...

| |
|
|
TheGreatWhiteBuffalo (1437) | 1 month ago | Hi Wisdomsky,
Now if you do not believe in GOD, then why do you find wisdom in the sky? But seriously, if an innocent victim of an injustice should share with you this terrible experience, this might break your peace of a joy filled life and the tranquility of your life might therefore be broken. Was the act of sharing a bad experience sin, or were the actors who created the bad experience culpable for the sin of the innocent? I think when seeking the truth we need to be able to speak openly and honestly to break the curse of another person and their sin. Or make that the sins of other people.
Now answer me this of the above scenario who will attain eternal life, assuming you can grasp the concept of such a thing because your source of life has no source at all... I understand your unbelief in such things but I'm sure that you can grasp the concept. Maybe???
