Have you ever been to a play? |
|
I haven't been to a play in what seems like a hundred years. I do remember going to see Oliver Twist and the Nutcracker when I was younger but to be honest, going to a play hasn't even crossed my mind until recently. A college here is doing a play in regards to Halloween called The Bell Witch. I think I want to go see it. So what about you? Have you been to any plays? Do you frequent them or just go sometimes?

1. dumblnddzzy (10307) | 3 months ago | Hey there Jen, no i have never been to a play now that you bring it up... It is hard for me to sit thru a movie, so i don't know how hard it would be for a play...Don't they break every so often? to change scenes? I have a college by me that is always advertising plays.. is it expensive? sorry so many questions...lori

JenInTN (3848) | 3 months ago | I do think they have an intermission sometimes. I don't think they are very expensive but to be honest, it's been so long since I've went, I'm not sure the price. I would say that it greatly depends on the play and where it is they are having it. When I find out..I'll let you know..thanks for the response.

2. justbeingtiffany (1019) | 3 months ago | well i'm an actor and us actors are in alot of plays. So i see alot of the play in the parts that i'm not in. Then i also see plays that i'm not in like for instance in drama club we go on a few field related to the class. For example we were studying shake sphere so we had a man come in to teach us the a month later we went to see a play he was in. He knew alot of about him so he taught us and not only that he can truly act. I love seeing plays because some people are just so great at acting you can't pull yourself away from it. You just want to see more. SO that thats i see plays often and also the reason i love to act. The way they make me feel when i see a play is the way i want to make others feels. And your the first person i ever told this to. You should feel pretty special haha seriously lol well anyway i guess that sums it up. Well happy mylotting!

JenInTN (3848) | 3 months ago | Wow..an actor huh? I do feel honored I am the first person you have told.I bet it's a freat feeling to be able to perform. I have trouble with getting up in front of people so I have a great respect for anyone that does. The way you describe a play really makes me want to go all the more. Thanks for the response.

3. thea09 (5065) | 3 months ago | Hi JenIn, many many times but not recently. Back in the UK I used to take regular trips down to Stratford upon Avon to see plays at the Royal Shakespear Theatre which were most excellent, the most memorable being seeing Ben Kingsly playing Iago. Later on a friend and I used to see Opera North most weekends with wonderful productions of La Boheme and Madame Butterfly amongst them.

4. dawnald (10459) | 3 months ago | Other than the childrens' school plays, most recently I went to an opera. Other than that, I used to go see a lot of musicals and my mom used to take me to the ballet a lot. It's kind of rare that I've gone to a play that didn't involve music, but I've been to a few. It's been years though.

JenInTN (3848) | 3 months ago | I think that most plays I've seen have been more musical too. I don't know about this one I'm planning on going to though. I am looking forward to it. Thanks for the response.

6. lelin1123 (4770) | 3 months ago | I haven't been to a play in years. I use to go all the time when I lived in New York. Seeing Damn Yankees to Bubbling Brown Sugar which was at least 30 years ago on Broadway.I have saved the programs from all the plays I have ever gone too. I have to count them one day just to see how many I have gone too. I would love to go too another play but that probably won't happen for a long time.

JenInTN (3848) | 3 months ago | Hi lelin! I bet that ws awesome experience to go to a play on Broadway! That's a good idea to save the programs. Sounds like you have been to quite a few. Thanks for responding.

7. jambi462 (2391) | 3 months ago | Yeah I've been to couple of plays that were at my high school and I've also been in a couple of plays at my high school. I thought that drama was a really fun class that let you really show some personality. Plus it's not all that hard so it helped my grade point out a little bit.

JenInTN (3848) | 3 months ago | We can use all the help we can get to get a good grade..lol..That's great you took a drama class. I think it would be interesting to do so but I'm a big chicken when it comes to getting up in front of people. Thanks for the response.

8. kitty42 (1169) | 3 months ago | Hello my friend
I have been to several the one I remember the most was the color purple, I was looking forward to this I had my hair done, bought new cloths I was really excited but I had to leave during intermission the seats were to die for literally, I was so uncomfortable I could hardly enjoy the show, I am really tall my legs were numb it was so sad, this theater shows plays all the time I can't believe the seating I will never go there again, I was so mad, then to find out I could have met so many people if I stayed for the whole show it sucked, if I would have stayed they would probably have to cut me out, I guess the more seats the more money they make, I now know what it is like to be a sardine let me tell ya, not a good feeling my friend.
Thanks for sharing.

| |
|
|
JenInTN (3848) | 3 months ago | Nothing worse than a bad seat in a sardine can! I wouldn't have liked that either. They are all about the money though so I guess stuffing as many people as possible in there works out fine for them..lol. I hope my play is packed up like that. Thanks for the response kitty. Take care.

There aren't a lot of things to do around here in the winter except maybe ski...lol..I didn't care for that much...maybe a few plays will knock the edge off the cold weather. Thanks for responding.
