what can I do to gain weight?  |

Im so thin and skinny and I dont like it! I eat a lot, I actually eat anything and at least 4 to 5 meals a day. How come Im not getting any fatter? I want to gain weight so I can easily fit into normal clothes and dont have to look for a tailor to make me up some pants. Help me, any suggestions, what exactly do I need to eat or to do to gain more weight? Thanks!

jb78000 (1630) | 1 month ago | saw this discussion and was basically going to say the same thing. i've had this after illness and the answer is basically as you said - balanced meals with maybe extra protein and exercise. however if you are otherwise fit then maybe that is just your metabolism - keep healthy and try not to worry about it.

2. dracoserpintenes (236) | 1 month ago | well im not shure i can give you a solid method of gaining weight but i can give you a few bits of advice i think could be important on the subject. first have you been to the doctor to make shure something isnt wrong bad things like tapeworms can happen to anyone. second if youe metabolism is high enough its almost impossible to gain weight i know that from experience. third it is important to gain weight in a healthy way dont try to go the fast food and unhealthy junk route it may damage your liver (one of my greatest fears in life). i think people like wrestlers eat things like special protien bars and work out alot to up thier weight i dunno if thats real tho. if all else fails and you dont have a problem with it i packed on a few extra pounds without ruining my shape by getting preagnant. (ive only go about 10 extra pounds 5 months after having my baby and its mostly in my boobs and butt)

Its a good advice though but I think I cant do that coz pork and beef are actually my favorite. I eat veggies but usually i also have a beef or pork meal aside.=)

Just watch that documentary supersize me if you wana gain weight. XD Other suggestions, eat lots of chocolate (goes straight to the thighs), fast food, potatoes, people say you gain more in the butt if you eat peanut butter.

I eat at Mcdonalds sometimes but I dont eat burgers, hmm, I dont like burgers actually but I eat rice most of the time. I actually watched that supersize me. Its amazing how Mcdonalds have this huge effect on Americans. Hmm, but for me,no burgers for me.=)

And the common folks say if we are thin we have to do some workouts and eat well...and this way we can gain weight......that means you can go to an aerobic class and at the same time eat as you do or more than that..

Still I can always lose weight very easily if I want to. I just lost 8 lbs in 5 weeks. For others it's hard to believe but I did it just by skipping dinner and eating clean and healthy foods.
Anyway, you're lucky cause that only goes to show that your metabolism is very good. A lot of people would complain about being too fat. Here's what you should eat to gain weight:
- Anything dairy: cheese pizza, ice cream, cheeze sticks, doughnuts, sweet chewy milk candies and chocolates, cakes, muffins, whip cream, cream corn...just anything with milk and cheeze in it.
- Anything pasta: spaghetti, fettucini, rigatoni, penne...with meat balls or meat sauce
- Rice - steam rice, fried rice, sticky rice
- Eat red meat and fried foods - medium rare steak, crispy french fries, etc.
After eating all of the above regularly, sit and watch tv, or do anything else while still sitting...maybe still eat something while sitting. Or better yet, lay down and take a nap. This will definitely slow your metabolism. The above foods are very hard to digest.
Of course, you must know already that all of the above is not healthy and sitting around and not exercising isn't really a good thing. It will not only make you gain weight, it will make you fat. I'd rather be skinny and thin if I were you.
Now if you want to gain weight with more muscles than fat, then you need to exercise regularly to burn off your calorie intakes.

Maybe sit in front of my computer but not doing anything makes me dull haha=) I eat a lot of rice always in my meal. Well yeah, I think its difficult to be fat rather than thin. Have you thought about trying protien shakes? Maybe, you could go to a Doctor or a Nutritionist. I'm sure they could give you meal plans for gaining weight.
