Im so thin and skinny and I dont like it! I eat a lot, I actually eat anything and at least 4 to 5 meals a day. How come Im not getting any fatter? I want to gain weight so I can easily fit into normal clothes and dont have to look for a tailor to make me up some pants. Help me, any suggestions, what exactly do I need to eat or to do to gain more weight? Thanks!

i also have the same problem my friend hehe. but some mylotters advised me to take protein meals and with carbohydrates and exercise. that is what i am doing right now. but i did not feel any change yet. hehehe good luck to us:D

saw this discussion and was basically going to say the same thing. i've had this after illness and the answer is basically as you said - balanced meals with maybe extra protein and exercise. however if you are otherwise fit then maybe that is just your metabolism - keep healthy and try not to worry about it.

i think i lack one - exercise! haha! i thought exercise only applies to those who need to lose weight=) i will try doing some exercise, not getting enough because im so busy with work whew!

Wow... i have the opposite problem compared to you guys. I need to lose weight. My body mass index (BMI) says that i am overweight. There are exercises that will help you gain weight and develop your muscles.

well im not shure i can give you a solid method of gaining weight but i can give you a few bits of advice i think could be important on the subject. first have you been to the doctor to make shure something isnt wrong bad things like tapeworms can happen to anyone. second if youe metabolism is high enough its almost impossible to gain weight i know that from experience. third it is important to gain weight in a healthy way dont try to go the fast food and unhealthy junk route it may damage your liver (one of my greatest fears in life). i think people like wrestlers eat things like special protien bars and work out alot to up thier weight i dunno if thats real tho. if all else fails and you dont have a problem with it i packed on a few extra pounds without ruining my shape by getting preagnant. (ive only go about 10 extra pounds 5 months after having my baby and its mostly in my boobs and butt)

maybe i ought to get pregnant so that i can gain weight hihihi=) one doctor told me that i have a fast metabolism so even if Im eating a lot it will burn fast. i rarelygo to fastfoods and i dont eat junkfoods. i eat real food. meals with rice always. but ill try to go to the doctor again to get a check up. thanks!

dear no need to do anything have good food diet and soon you will be gain good weight you can have pure vegetables,nonvege is also essential but dont take suppliement bcz after leaving these you will be loosing your weight in double speed so just have good diet yes do yoga exercise it will help you

ohhh i think I cannot live without pork, and beef. f I eat vegetables only, I get hungry easily. So I cannot do vegan all the way. Its a good advice though but I think I cant do that coz pork and beef are actually my favorite. I eat veggies but usually i also have a beef or pork meal aside.=)

one burger joint for you that would do the trick... MC DONALDS!!!
1 burger= more than 1000 calories i.e. a BIG MAC. ew, but yeah

Other suggestions, eat lots of chocolate (goes straight to the thighs), fast food, potatoes, people say you gain more in the butt if you eat peanut butter.

people say you gain more boobs if you eat fries, u think thats true? haha! i love chocolates and i always eat chocolate bars and ice cream yum! (craving now!) I eat at Mcdonalds sometimes but I dont eat burgers, hmm, I dont like burgers actually but I eat rice most of the time. I actually watched that supersize me. Its amazing how Mcdonalds have this huge effect on Americans. Hmm, but for me,no burgers for me.=)

Hello friend..

You said you eat well and still you are not gaining weight...so there may be a problem that may be cured by using some kind of medical treatment......Why don't you consult a specialist on this field may he can come up with a clue.....

And the common folks say if we are thin we have to do some workouts and eat well...and this way we can gain weight......that means you can go to an aerobic class and at the same time eat as you do or more than that..

yeah, i think I have to go to the doctor again. Hmm.. The last time I checked with the doctor, he advised me to do some execise, which I cant but I will try now. Given I have enough time off from work=)

I'm the kind of person who grew up very skinny. I've been skinny all my life until I came here in the US and started eating so much foods. Still I can always lose weight very easily if I want to. I just lost 8 lbs in 5 weeks. For others it's hard to believe but I did it just by skipping dinner and eating clean and healthy foods.

Anyway, you're lucky cause that only goes to show that your metabolism is very good. A lot of people would complain about being too fat. Here's what you should eat to gain weight:

- Anything dairy: cheese pizza, ice cream, cheeze sticks, doughnuts, sweet chewy milk candies and chocolates, cakes, muffins, whip cream, cream corn...just anything with milk and cheeze in it.

- Anything pasta: spaghetti, fettucini, rigatoni, penne...with meat balls or meat sauce

- Rice - steam rice, fried rice, sticky rice

- Eat red meat and fried foods - medium rare steak, crispy french fries, etc.

After eating all of the above regularly, sit and watch tv, or do anything else while still sitting...maybe still eat something while sitting. Or better yet, lay down and take a nap. This will definitely slow your metabolism. The above foods are very hard to digest.

Of course, you must know already that all of the above is not healthy and sitting around and not exercising isn't really a good thing. It will not only make you gain weight, it will make you fat. I'd rather be skinny and thin if I were you.

Now if you want to gain weight with more muscles than fat, then you need to exercise regularly to burn off your calorie intakes.

I love all kinds of sweets! And I love pork and meat, I still eat veggies but there must also be a meat in my meal. Dont do anything?!! Haha! Maybe sit in front of my computer but not doing anything makes me dull haha=) I eat a lot of rice always in my meal. Well yeah, I think its difficult to be fat rather than thin. I just want to gain a little weight though. Yeah and I think exercise is what I really really need. Thanks!

being italian, I would suggest that you eat a lot of pasta because that's something that makes me gain a lot weight. Also, anytime I need to lose weight I usually cut off snacks from my diet (stuff like Twinkies and Oreos and the like) and it works wonder:)

I use to have the problem when I was younger. Everyone would tell me eat,eat,eat and I did but, was still skinny as a rail. Have you thought about trying protien shakes? Maybe, you could go to a Doctor or a Nutritionist. I'm sure they could give you meal plans for gaining weight. Bread makes me gain weight fast I really have to watch my bread intake. LOL

eating junk foods and fatty foods is not a good way to gain weight. they contain unhealthy saturated fats. if u want to increase ur calorie consumption to gain weight, this should come from good healthy foods.

Consuming foods like tuna, salmon, walnuts or flax are good sources of omega 3 which contain essential fatty acids. lean meats, fish, poultry, nuts, seeds and legumes are also healthy foods that are good sources of protein. eat fruits, vegetables and whole grains, they are good healthy sources of carbohydrates.

eat 5 or 6 small meals per day rather than 3 large meals.

ohh ill try to eat or add moremeals in a day and all of those meals will be with rice. I dont eat junkfoods, but hmm I eat fatty foods like pork and beef though. I thin I cant live without those! Fruits and veggies I also eat. Ill try to get more of tuna, and those sources of omega3. Thanks!
