CBS exposes Obama administration's lies about snubbing Fox News  email this discussion to a friend?

Here is the story:

http://www.examiner.com/x...

Briefly, spokespersons are stating that the administration did NOT attempt to shut Fox News out of an interview with Kenneth Feinburg. However, 4 other news networks know that to be a lie and they are making a fuss about it.

This is good news! The media is finally starting to see that our freedom of speech is being infringed. I'm so glad they're sticking together.

Why does the Obama administration object to Fox? Because they don't like the opinion shows that air after 5PM. I don't think they watch it or even acknowledge the news content before 5PM.

What do you think? Are you alarmed about this president trying to squelch the freedom of the media in expressing their opinions? Or do you think they are justified in trying to ostracize Fox news network because the Fox opinion programs are criticizing the president?

Presdient Obama must face Fox news he cant let station think they have the power to scare him. I believe it is his right to have questions prescreened with no limit follow ups.

Most of Fox reporting about the president has been innuedo, suposition and outright lies.

They alluded that William Ayers was close associate of President Obama alihough there's noevidence to that fact. Obama was six when Ayers committed crimes as a weatherman.
They back the birthers who insist that Presdient Obama is not a US citizen even though the state of Hawaii verifis he was born there.

Thewre is no balance ofthoughtseemslike from Fox. They take positions in many of the commentators such Gkenn Beck, Bill O'Reighly and Chris Hannity that Obama is the worst thing to happen to this country and all their commentary is slanted that way.

Obama is right to be concerned because Fox is very powerful but he must face but on his terms.

Not for nothing, but how are you so sure of Fox's bias if you're not even correct on the hosts' names?

Seeing it yourself and seeing/hearing it from another source is really the difference between knowing what you're talking about and tuggin' on the grapevine.

At least repeat the talking points verbatim. lmao

On a simpler note, media is SUPPOSED to be skeptical of power. They're supposed to keep Americans informed and not simply root someone on.

It's ironic (or just too sad for words) that people view unwaveringly pro-Obama administration news as the real news, and then look at news that runs a skeptical story should there be one or asks the tough questions as the fixed news.

There's really a simpler explanation as to why Fox News has Chris (Sean) Hannity and Glenn Beck on the air: if they had Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow, they would be getting MSNBC's ratings. lol As far as O'Reilly goes, well, never mind. I don't need to stick up for Bill O. Anyone thinking he's slanted against the administration needs to "wise up," as he would say. He's #1 in the business for a reason, and the smears aren't worth mentioning.

Obama should be concerned, yes, I agree with you. happy Fox is one of the networks that will not let him or anyone else catch a free pass. I wish all networks were like that! Republican, conservative, liberal, Democrat, independent, whatever -- I want every politician scrutinized on a regular basis. That's what NEWS is.

myLot reputation of 97/100. dragon54u (15683)   ranked 28 out of 3,986 in politics  3 years ago

I do not agree with you. Prescreened questions are not fair to the American people, we have a right to ask what we wish of the president--he is OUR employee, WE are the BOSS!!! Or at least, that's how it's supposed to work. It hasn't worked that way the past few decades.

While I admit that a few of the accusations against President Obama are reaching, I wonder why he's spent millions of his own money on lawyers to hide his birth certificate and just after he was sworn in he signed an executive order to seal all his records? Does that sound like the actions of an honest man?

I think you need to get your head out of the sand and look at some facts. Obama is probably not the evil megalomaniac that some paint him as, but is also is not the perfect ideal that you seem to think he is. He is destroying our economy, our jobs, our pride and our society. He chose this job, he didn't inherit it, he chose it. He worked for 2 long years to get this job. He is the last of a chain of presidents that worked to destroy this country and he is here to finish the job.

Sourceseeker, live up to your name. Quit looking at only one source.

I suppose you would like it if teachers let the students pick the questions on exams too. The only reason for wanting to prescreen questions, is to have prepared answers. He can't be caught in TO many lies, you know.

Well...Obama says that fox is not actually a news station but more of a talk radio thing...no i dont have any idea what that means exactly....AND he is upset that fox did not air his last speech when all the other stations did...(yes I am aware that they actually did air it just not live at the same time as all of the other stations).....personally I DID notice that it wasnt on FOX and I did mention to my husband that that was the first time i remember anything like that happening and that i thought it was a bit rude of the fox network to do that....but it is their perogative to air what they choose so we watched it on another network (problem solved!)
However that said I do absolutely have issues with prs. Obama trying to censor Fox from the american public!!!!! We have our own brains and we can decide for ourselves what we believe from what we watch....a lot of people LIKE fox news and choose to watch it...that is their perrogative and Obama has no place deciding that they are not a real news station just because they dont agree with him....
Besides the fact that it totally insults our intelligence that he thinks we cant discern for ourselves what is news and what isnt ...it would be very dangerous for the american people to sit still for this....next week he could decide cbs is no good too...then nbc....next thing you know we get only one station and obviously that would be only the news Obama decided was worthy of our ears.....that is what places like afghanistan do...they have only ONE source of news and it spews lies to them all day long and they have no choice....WE do not want that in america.
I dont watch fox news...I dont like it and i do think they are skewed way to the left....BUT...I made that choice for myself and I dont want that choice to be made for me or any other american citizen by the govt!!!
Regardless of weather you are for or opposed to Obama....this is a deeper issue....
For a lot of years now...not just this administration but a LOT of years our rights are being dismantled little by little....one by one...
We as the American peole NEED to start standing up for our rights or we arent going to have ANY left!!!!

myLot reputation of 97/100. dragon54u (15683)   ranked 28 out of 3,986 in politics  3 years ago

I totally agree with you that we should be able to watch and listen to what we want. Obama is trying to control the media and that is the first step to dictatorship. He already controls 58% of private enterprise through government takeovers. We MUST be watchful and stand up for ourselves!

Fox's news is not actually criticizing the president they are using the administrations own videos in their own words and it is their own words and behavior that has commended painting the picture and then you decvide,I think that is most fair.
Fox's news is doing the work of good journalism the others are Obama popularity show with little to nothing to do with journalism this s why Fox's news is the giant in cable news and has been nine year's in a row.
Tonight I heard a gal anchor on CNN say not many people even watch Glen Beck,I just had to shake my head,Glen Beck is outside of prime time and his viewing rates are high as the sky.
But the people need not watch the Obama side show this is a plot for stupid Americans actually Fox is the big boy's they can and will take care of them self's it is Obama and his slick Willy gang we have to watch this is all a Obama smoke screen as they try to force their health care on to the American people.
Far as Obama attacking Fox's News I take it the two war's are going well, unemployment is stable and the American people are working and paying their bills, the country is in ship shape and all Obama has to do is pick fights with business, drying up capitalism ,run down the American people and our country, travel around running his never stopping mouth the man don't shut up to take time to think let a lone make a decision, good grief!!

You're right, he doesn't know how to shut up. He's constantly campaigning for one thing or another, I wonder how he has time to run the country. He delegates, which can be very effective, but the people he's delegating to are Marxists and Maoists. We will lose this country if we are not careful.

It's ridiculous. It's a fight he can't win. It's only energizing his base and the culture of Fox hatred. They're hoping, I think, that the intense Fox hatred displayed by the farthest left of the far-left kooks will spread like feedin a mogwai after midnight and leave the entire Obama support circle sharing an unexplainable, visceral hatred for Fox news and everyone else in opposition.

The cult of personality's leaders are simply trying to redirect their support and transform it into angst. The sheep are being played.

As far as I know, Bush wasn't on the rampage against MSNBC.

When it comes to type of coverage they run on Obama, that's to be expected! We're bass ackwards here. Since the vast majority of all media left Obama alone, Fox stands out by not giving him a free pass. If all other networks held him and every other politician accountable, you wouldn't even really notice Fox.

I would love to know, from anyone, why Obama's past isn't newsworthy? Why isn't ACORN a national story? Why aren't the czars with questionable backgrounds worthy of note? Why is everything done by Obama and his administration supposed to be left alone. Fox is bashed for ANYTHING they say negative about ANYONE in the admin, no matter what it is. I think we all get the gist of the "why."

I've said it a million times and I'll say it a million more: Just because someone abstains from showing the news, that does not make the person showing it wrong, ESPECIALLLY when one of the "reasons" for not showing it is to point your finger at the other side and scream bias.

It's like someone being a vegan does not make me evil for eating meat! And I don't care how holier-than-thou they're feeling that day with their rice cake and synthetic leather shoes.

Our society is built on showing both sides of every argument, and Obama wants to stifle one side.

I don't think Fox hates Obama, I think they are just showing some truths that he prefers remain hidden. Like Beck says, watch BOTH hands--Obama is showing us one hand while the other is busy taking away our rights.

Why does the Obama administration object to Fox? Because they don't like the opinion shows that air after 5PM. I don't think they watch it or even acknowledge the news content before 5PM.

They DO know what FOX is saying....that's the point. FOX is doing something that scares them very bad. They are telling the truth. They are exposing the problems of this administration and this is something the public is actually listening to.
The fact is, the Obama administration is afraid come election time they are gonna have a real issue because this network has the most viewers of all of the networks and if they are slamming this administration how much do you think the public will follow this politician if they are believing what FOX is saying.......they are afraid and they are trying everything they can think of to dissuade the American public about FOX.....

It's scary. If they can control the media, they control everything that goes on. I'm grateful for Fox and I hope they open America's eyes before it's too late!

It's funny; after this last election I thought the world had gone to hell in a handbasket but I must conclude that this election was rigged because if that many people are watching Fox and must be liking what they see and hear; then I think we're gonna be ok....that is unless this idiot gets us all killed in the next 3 years!
I personally think that people are waking up pretty fast. I have talked to the ones that actually did vote for him and they are all and I mean ALL angry at him.....which really says something to me. I mean; I'm not surprised they are....how could they not be...but that they admit it and want to vote differently this time...and who knows. Without ACORN leading the charge on bogus votes we might actually win the next election.....that is if he doesn't get us all killed in the next 3 years......w00t

Well hornswaggled though....its not necessarily that THAT many are watching fox OR like what they see on fox...
I for one DO NOT like fox news and DO NOT watch fox news....
However...just because i dont watch it does NOT mean that i think it is ok for OBAMA or ANYONE else to censor it....
We Americans are NOT as dumb as some may think we are!
I voted for Obama and as I have stated in several discussion the past few days I am not jumping ship just yet....but that doesnt mean that he can do ANYTHING he wants and i will follow like a sheep.... any time ANY president tries to stifle a media source that is dangerous and will not be tolerated by the american people...
Obama has every right not to like fox news....he does NOT have the right to tell us we cant watch it.....AND he absolutely should NOT be given the power to dictate which stations can broadcast what.....

myLot reputation of 90/100. pixeltwistr (421)   ranked 771 out of 3,986 in politics  3 years ago

dont be so sure hornswaggled...I am also one who voted for Obama...
I just gotta clarify a little here...Obama was NOT my original first choice...as a matter of fact I didnt like him.....but my first choice was out of the race really quickly...and so was my second and third..and so on....I dont usually claim any party....I.E. democrat, republican,etc...i generally tend to look at ALL of the candidates and read everything i can and vote for who i think will do the best job regardless of their party affiliation.....so when it started to become clear that my only choices were going to be Obama and McCain...well there was one candidate from day one that i personally was adament about NOT voting for and that was McCain...so i began to read as much as i could about Obama.....
I can say that had my choice been Hilary or ron paul or even guilliani (personally i like nader but he never has a snowballs chance in hell) I would have been more comfortable with my vote....but my choice was Obama...and so all I could do was give him my vote and pray that my initial feelings were wrong and that he was sincere in what he is saying....I still hope all these mistakes he is making are just mistakes and that he will get his priorities straight...we will see...
I have to tell you too though that even though I am mad as hell about a few things right now...if there was a new election today and those were still my choices...I would still vote for Obama....
So...you may be right....those that voted for Obama may vote differently in the next election....but dont be so quick to assume that that means we will vote republican.....because if McCain...or Palin are on the ticket i will vote for ANYONE except them and that includes voting for Obama again if that is the only choice...
ALl i can say is i truely hope I get better choices on the next ticket! That would help a LOT

myLot reputation of 83/100. hornswaggled (2074)  3 years ago

Well there aren't a lot of people who could screw this up more than he has so far.
And as for controlling how about taking over the banking and the car industry? How about him wanting to control the census and the health care?
I do think he is evil and I wouldn't walk across the street to see him if it meant a million dollars.
I think you are entitled to your opinion but as with most conservatives; I believe that the devil you know is better than the one you don't.....so unless by some miracle another liberal comes in that is better than this bonehead I'll vote republican.....or better yet how about libertarian.....might be a better fit for me.

All of this controversy may just be a good thing. It’s high time folks do some decision making based on research and honest debating the issues of the day.

Our ‘free speech’ has been under scrutinization by the enemies of the American voters for some time now, and thank God, people are waking up to that fact!!

There are many things being done way too fast, and way to secretly.

Obama was a gues on O’Reilly’s show before the election, and so was Hiliary. I thought that was a good thing, and that Bill was fair to both and respectful to both. But since the election ‘ended,’ Mr. O’Reilly’s invites have been rejected. What has changed to cause Obama to all of a sudden ‘not’ want to be on the show, and also want to now try to turn folks against Fox News? Interesting – huh?

O’Reilly and Mr. Beck have probably 2 of the highest viewing ratings of all of the shows on Fox. They both have right slant, and left slant folks on to debate, which seems fair to me.

But make no doubt about it, there IS corruption within the U.S. government, and has been for years. There ARE insiders at work to help neutralize us as a super power.

But (on a spiritual note) – there are also multitudes of groups and gatherings, all over that are fasting and praying for this nation, and I believe a lot of things will for sure be changed in time. Never underestimate the power of prayer folks. It does make a difference, and we WILL see change in the next few months.

In the meantime, I too am against all of this hoopla against Fox News. And just remember – we all have to stick together when it comes to our rights being infringed upon - - remember: UNITED WE STAND - - DIVIDED WE FALL!

‘nuff said

C. C.

EXACTLY Classycat! EXACTLY

Liking Obama or disliking him isnt as much the issue here as the fact that any time our rights are being taken away we need to stick together and fight for them or we will lose them...and regarless of how you feel about Obama he tried to exclude one media source (fox) because of his personal views (that they arent a real nes station) and THAT can not be tolerated by us as a people or next it wil be CBS and then NBC and before you know it we will have only the White House network to watch...
Let Obama boycot fox if he pleases....let him tell the world how he feels about fox if he pleases(though comming from a president it seems petty and childish at best)...BUT DO NOT let him tell us we can't choose for ourselves...
And this is comming from a person who does not like fox news....but just like the rest of the stations stood up for fox and said if they dont come none of us do...even though i personally dont like fox i do realise just how dangerous it would be to let Obama get away with what he tried...
Before you know it the govt will be telling us what we are allowed to say and not say as well....WE CAN NOT LET THAT HAPPEN....
What he did may seem like such a small thing but that is how these things start and we must not take it lightly....we have to let Obama know that he was wrong and it will not be tolerated by the american people!!!

myLot reputation of 83/100. hornswaggled (2074)  3 years ago

Like I've said...the only administration who actually tried to take on a media network (and failed miserably I might add) was Nixon.....does Obama not know his political history?
I think he does. And that is a real tell to who he thinks he is. The more powerful a person gets the less he or she sees reality.
I remember someone interviewing Rosie O'Donnell after her "fall". And she said much the same thing about how power corrupted her sense of who she was.

I would like to see this guy get knocked down a peg or two. Not because I don't care for him but because I think he is setting dangerous precedence with his attitude and action.

I can't believe they were stupid enough to think they could go after a major news network without people, including the other networks, seeing it for what it really was, an assault on free speech. Now, the networks that they thought were in their pockets, are starting to speak out against them and expose them for what they are. How they thought they could gain anything by taking on Fox news is beyond me. Now they just look like petty thugs and liars and you sure can't say it's biased reporting when they're ALL saying it. The Obama administrations attempt to control the press and inhibit free speech just blew up in their faces. I'm lovin' it!

Millertime -

All throughout W's terms and for many presidents beforehand, the administration has always controlled and limited the media.

It did not start with Obama.

What we really need to do is vote out all the conservatives who keep halting all progress our country is making, and then people like O'Reilly and Beck will up and disappear.

It's okay to dislike the president's policies, but, lying to a whole country, using your television show as a pedestal is not okay.

The Fox network is home to many liars, and Fox loves the ratings and the money their controversy attracts, but I would rather an administration shut liars up, than allow them to get away with lying to the public.

And oddly, it is usually the administration who is lying, and the media who is trying to expose the truth.

Not this time.

myLot reputation of 84/100. millertime (1128)   ranked 766 out of 3,986 in politics  3 years ago

Ok Ladybug, lets have some examples. You say that Fox News lies so lets have some examples of their lies. You might not like it but they report NEWS like all the other networks and they are fair in their reporting. They also have commentators like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, who are expressing their opinion and NOT news programs.

You say W controlled the media. Just how exactly did he do that?

You say the conservatives keep halting all the progress our country is making. Would that be all the wonderful "progress" we are making under the Obama administration? What progress is that? Just what have the conservatives done to "halt progress"? The liberals have the presidency, the house and the senate, so how can the conservatives halt anything?

You mention O'Reilly but he is the fairest of all and has been very easy on the Obama administration and Obama himself said he got a fair shake when he interviewed him on his show so what exactly has Mr. O'Reilly done?

You accuse Fox again of having many liars but again, be specific. Let's have some examples. Otherwise, it's simply name-calling on your part. You can say it all you want, but it doesn't make it true if you don't back it up. If you want biased reporting, give a listen to Keith Olbermann.

And your last statement makes absolutely no sense. "And oddly, it is usually the administration who is lying, and the media who is trying to expose the truth. Not this time."

Usually the administration is lying, that part is true. The media is trying to expose the truth, ya, that's what Fox News does. Not this time, well, I guess that's the oddly part because oddly enough the left wing media exposed the truth this time. Fox didn't need to.

myLot reputation of 51/100. ladybugmagic (896)   ranked 585 out of 3,986 in politics  3 years ago

Olberman is one of my favourites. And I quite like Michael Moore, Anderson Cooper, Rachel Maddow, and I found a new one over this weekend whose website is
goharrison.com He actually called a few of the banks who were bailed out, and asked what to do to pay off his late credit card payments. Their suggested answers were to sell their plasma, turn in their cars to eliminate those payments, and to go to local churches and register for their food banks, and send their food money to these banks who just received $15 billion in the bailout.

Sorry for the segway, just had to. And of course, Bush was all over mainstream media damning us to economic hell akin to that of the great depression if we did not bailout these companies.

I am not mistaking newscasters with commentators, but the commentators are mistaking themselves for real journalists. They gather a following, based on lies, and continue to spread those lies, and shephard people into believing it to be true. Kind of like televangelists.

I'm pooped, so I only found a few links to post; will find more this next weekend, as I work long hours through the week, and mylot is a scarce luxury for me.

I am not quite sure how you can side with Fox after they called Florida for Bush, or how you can think Bush is a straight shooter, when his administration among others quickly destroyed Cynthia McKinney for being the first politician to publicly speak about Bush's involvement and knowlege of 9/11. She was quieted very quickly.

He piggybacks the media, stacks the cards in the deck as to what they are permitted to report, and, he, like any president, has plants to ask him questions. If any member of the press asks him questions he thinks go too far, he revokes their interviewing or attendance privleges.

I do dislike him and all that has come from him being in the office, with regards to the war, the impoverished, the housing situation, the inequality in our country, and the line between church and state has been significantly blurred since he took office.

I am of the mindset that had JFK not been killed, we would have been in a much better position today. I think as soon as Nixon took office, and continued the Vietnam War, we were damned from the get-go.

Enclosed are three links just to peruse. I watched the movie called Uncovered: The War on Iraq, and will be watching the one called Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism. I am very curious to see what it is about; so I can't really say in full.

Those links below don't express my full views; but will lead to other neat sites.

Okay Miller and Maters, riddle me these:

Why are there several accounts of six weeks prior to 9/11 random people going into the towers, for "security purposes"?

Why did the owner take out a new insurance plan shortly before the attacks? And after, he attempted to collect on each and everyone of the 3000+ casualties?

How is it that some skyscrapers have caught fire and withstood another 48 hours before collapsing, and in no way similar to the inward demolition of the twin towers?

How is it that jet fuel is believed to melt steele, when it can not, physically reach that temperature?

Why did tower 7 collapse, inwardly, as if set for demolition, a la the two towers hit by planes? A cross fire won't take a building down like that. Particularly a building that houses several fbi and financial files.

Where are the gold reserves that were sitting under the buildings?

Why was our military ordered to do war games on 9/11, specifically exercising as if commercial jetliners were hijacked and attacking skyscrapers? They were misdirected by orders from above, so when the actual attacks took place, their fighter jets were elsewhere on a simulated exercise.

Why did Condaleeza Rice call some selected personell on 9/10 and tell them not to fly commercially the following day?

Why did the Pentagon have reinforcement added to their building shortly before 9/11?

Why are some of the alleged hijackers walking around, alive, today?

Why was the Bin Laden family flown to safety after 9/11?

Why did people in the towers who have worked there as maintenance crews for years hear additional bombs and explosions?

How is it that things were blown to smitherines, including the keypad of a telephone, yet the passports of the hijackers were not torn asunder and found in pristine and legible condition during the explosions? Could someone have planted them?

If the above doesn't convince you that we needed 9/11 to gain our civilians' support for the "War on Terror" and justify our secret oil war over the petrol dollar, than I will pose the most obvious question.

There were security cameras in the hotels across from the pentagon, that caught the "commercial jetliner" on film. Why won't the government release that film to the public?

This would make their case, if, in fact, it was a commercial jetliner, and not a military plane. They would finally gain the public's trust.

If I told you I was holding a blue highlighter in my hand behind my back, and you didn't believe me, I would bring the blue highlighter in plain sight, and show you, so then you would believe me.

Right. It doesn't matter that steel doesn't need to melt to cause collapse; it only has to lose its structural integrity. Some things are so much a matter of common sense that "bombs, bombs, bombs" just makes for a sexier story.

Flight 93 having recordings of the goings on doesn't matter either, I suppose, nor do the dozens of eye witnesses who described the plane (a 747) flying into the Pentagon. I guess they were all planted and everyone's lying.

The rest would be fun to go over for an hour, but I'll take my own advice and let you go your own way.

All I will say is this:

The overwhelming majority (I'll dare to say 99.9%) of Bush haters berate the man constantly for being a stupid, Texas hick. They show the same respect to everyone associated with Bush, even including the people that voted for him. They salivate over videos where the man can't complete a sentence in stride.

However, we're to believe that he's part of the biggest cover-up in history? Hmm. Common sense stopped being common after people were allowed to speak freely, apparently.

Bush, Cheney, our military, and hundreds of other political officials and private citizens would have to not only lie in order for this "conspiracy" to be true, but they would have to keep mums about it all.

Things like waterboarding (or, as the liberals call it, the worst torture ever) leaked out on a regular basis. The government's private business was aired out on front street on a regular basis. But this--3,000 dead--remains the secret?

Hate has got the best of conspiracy theorists on this one. Aliens I can understand. That's unique and exciting and literally out of the this world! The multiple Kennedy shooters thing is popular because the man was Obama before Obama was Obama. But this 911 hogwash is mostly based on nothing but pure hatred for Bush. Of course, a lot of other theorists have jumped aboard. But they're in attendance for every theory.

I tell ya, Obama's lucky as hell that he gets off with only the "birthers" on his tail. lol

Ladybug...the definition of a lie is to purposely tell someone something that you know to be untrue...
First of all just because you say fox is lying doesnt make it true....where is the PROOF that they are lying?
Now I have said many times that I DO NOT like fox news....I do not watch fox news...I think Glen Beck is an absolute whack job....BUT....
I do not think you can classify there broadcasts as lying...lets take Glenn Beck for example...yeah hes out there and yeah he is radical....BUT i think that he honestly believes in his heart that everything he says is true ...is he wrong...i think so but that is only my opinion so i just dont watch him....a LOT of people honestly believe that they have seen a flying saucer....I have never seen one myself and I am sceptical that they have but does that mean they are lying? No..they believe they saw what they saw.....
And since the inception of this country free speach has been our basic right....that means you can say whatever you want to say....regardless of wether other people disagree with you or not...That is one of the major things that has made this country great is that we are able to debate and discuss and work things out.....There is NO ONE forcing anyone to watch fox news that doesnt want to....and I'll be damned if i sit still while anyone tries to force people NOT to watch them....that is against our constitution!!
There are a LOT of folks who DO watch fox news and enjoy it very much and you are in essence telling them they shouldnt have the right to do that because you dont agree with what fox news tells them.....

Ladybug....
lollolwhistle
Sorry had to get that off my chest.
I have to say that just because you see a smoking gun does not mean that a person is killed.
The facts you laid out may seem to be a total fact but they are what lawyers call circumstantial evidence.
And that ain't a crime.

I have two brothers that could argue that the planes hitting the towers did the damage caused.
One is a civil engineer who works for the City of Los Angeles and is on a special team that goes and inspects buildings for structural integrity for earthquakes. The other is a structural engineer. And they both said what they say here....that it wasn't the fire that did the most damage....but that it changed the ability of the buildings to hold up.

Maters - I am going to go out on a limb here and assume you believe that Oswald was JFK's sole assassin and fully support the magic bullet theory?

There were eye witnesses there, that saw more shooters in the infamous grassy knoll, but their testimony was either altered or omitted.

Hornswaggled - this may interest you. It has demolition experts commenting on it, and it has the engineer of the world trade center construction commenting that it could withhold an attack from a jetliner.

He has now been missing since 9/11/01.

When I first saw this post, I thought, "You are kidding, right?"

Do you remember, only a year ago, when W was in the house? Have you not yet realized that the media is, and always has been in bed with the politicians?

How come, during the fearless W's reign, and with all his enablers, we have not seen more carnage and brutality of the war on the news? Maybe we would hear some numbers and some death tolls, but never see the footage of the little 18 year old kids savagely killing little five year old civilians, and bombing their schools (because they obviously posed some threat to our national security.)

Fox has been questionable since W's stolen election and announcing Florida went to Bush, when it rightfully didn't.

http://www.janrainwater.com/htdocs/FoxNews.htm

I am not surprised that Obama's handlers refused Fox a seat at a press conference. They spearheaded a conspiracy. And many of the commentators use very hateful words about Obama and are just plum idiots.

I am surprised that Fox hasn't demanded that The Simpsons tone down their more liberal cartoon.

Do you remember the 9/11 commission where Bush refused to go in a separate questioning room from Cheney?

Presidents and administrations have always puppeteered the media, but in this one case, it is actually justifiable, since Fox has such a way of bastardizing the truth.

And getting away with it.

I'm aware of all the points you made and I certainly thought they were wrong at the time. But no president has ever tried to exclude a network because they were hostile to him. We are going to end up with a dictatorship if we don't watch our backs.

myLot reputation of 51/100. ladybugmagic (896)   ranked 585 out of 3,986 in politics  3 years ago

LOL - And Martial Law is coming because Obama wants cancer patients to have a chance at affording healthcare.

I wouldn't believe everything O'Reilly or Beck tell you. ;-)

I do think censorship is wrong, and recommend you see a movie called, "The Control Room" in which members of the press played footage and even doctored it for their own nationalist agendas.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mek3yiyuGkU

Some people of the press would be revoked their coverage rights if W thought they were asking questions that he did not like.

I think the other networks are in favour of a free press, though, they too, are monitored, and that would be the only reason they came to fox's rescue.

I think they know what a farce and how slanted the "news shows" on fox are.

As I said, I think censorship is wrong, but also, using a television network, under the guise of showing the "news", when it is obviously an agendist at work, is just as wrong.

myLot reputation of 84/100. millertime (1128)   ranked 766 out of 3,986 in politics  3 years ago

Ladybug, you really make me laugh. I haven't heard anyone harp on the Bush administration so much since the last speech Obama made, lol. And quoting that Socialist website on Fox news being responsible for Bush "stealing" the election. That's really rich! I didn't know a news show could control the outcome of an election. Pretty funny stuff.

You do keep confusing news with commentary though. So try and understand that O'Reilly, Beck and Hannity are all commentators. They are allowed to give their opinion. There are liberal commentators too and they are allowed to give their opinion. That is what free speech is all about. You just don't seem to like it that the right wing commentators are all on Fox. You seem to begrudge the conservative side one network to voice their opinion while the liberal side has ALL of the other networks.

You sound like the Obama administration mad at Fox for having people with a right wing opinion. I thought the liberal view was the one of tolerance. You don't seem very tolerant of anyone with a conservative point of view and you seem hellbent on castigating Fox just for that reason. Lighten up a little, no matter what these guys say, your guy will still be president.

Fox spearheaded a conspiracy.

But Bush stole the election, was behind 911, and our soldiers were savagely killing 5-year-old civilians and bombing schools.

Define irony. happy

Bush's cousin who works for Fox called Florida for Bush; when all the other networks had called it for Gore.

At least 150,000 citizens were denied the right to vote in Florida; mostly minorities. The reason for that, is that their names were similar to convicts, to a degree of 80%.

They attempted to vote, and go on air saying they would have gone with Gore. If your name was Michael E Smith, and there was a felon named Mike Smythe, you would have been denied the right to vote.

There is a movie you should see, very fascinating, more about stealing and strategizing elections:

American Blackout

I think you can find it on youtube; if not, I will try to post the link later.

Pressed for time now.

When I first heard the allegations that Obama snubbed Fox I thought it was a little immature maybe elitist but I just didn't know what the deal was and didn't ask. I am curious to see how the administration deals with this and will feel suspicious if they don't address it but I don't want to sound like Im Fox's full support because Im not and few personalities on their just get out of control and obnoxious but Keith Olbermann is not on Fox, how do you explain that. I have my own thoughts on these news networks, they should report the news and keep their thoughts to themselves and stay true to journalism or go work for 'The Dish' on E.

myLot reputation of 97/100. dragon54u (15683)   ranked 28 out of 3,986 in politics  3 years ago

There really is no real journalism anymore. I grew up with Walter Cronkite, who was a liberal--but you would never know it to hear him report the news! He kept his own views out of it and just reported the news. Nowadays, everyone wants to make a statement and color the news with their own views.

Fox at least is addressing some issues that are disturbing in their opinion shows, and I'm glad they are. But while I watch Fox, I also watch and read liberal news stories and outlets and I listen to what people think. That's the only way to form an opinion, with all the facts from every side. The president should realize that and use it.

Certainly, it is interesting and perhaps, telling, that 0bama claims FOX is not really a news source rather than respond factually to what FOX reports. This speaks volumes.

myLot reputation of 97/100. dragon54u (15683)   ranked 28 out of 3,986 in politics  3 years ago

I think FOX threw a monkey wrench into the administration's copying of past dictators who found that if they controlled the media they could control the peoples' thinking. I would welcome being wrong about that but I don't think I am.
