Would you rather give people money or a present?

A present is alot more personal but it's easier to give gift cards. What I have done in the past is put a gift card in a box and wrap it up as though it was a present. I find it so hard to buy for the person who has everything.

I would definitely rather give a present, I think that it offers a much more personable message and it's fun to see them open it! I would give money for something like a wedding or a graduation, but a gift for a birthday or a holiday.

I have certain ones I just give money too. And some of the others I get gifts for. The ones i give money to it is because I just don't know what to get them that they will like. My youngest son is one of them I know he likes money better than gifts so thats what I do . My youngest daughter it is easy to know what she likes and would like to have . In some cases I just give a wal-mart shopping card.

Depends on the occasion,age and situation.

With kids,i always try to give present if aged 12 below.But with youngsters from 13 till 17,i choose to give money,becoz,at this age,it is hard to please them with things since they are into their youth's level.

It depends on the occasion and also the person to whom you intend to give the money or present. If the person is rich then there is no point in giving the person money. If the person is poor and has arranged a marriage party, then giving the person money would help the person.
In India, according to the occasion money or gift is given.

For me, this depends on the person I'm giving to. Some people actually enjoy getting money rather than an actual gift. It's a good alternative for people who are hard to shop for, then you know the "gift" will be right, since they'll pick it out themselves.

Another similar way to go if you think cash is cheesy is to buy a gift card in the same amount as the cash you'd have given. Again, the recipiant can choose there own gift. Money or gift certificates can be presented by tucking them into a Christmas card to set under or in the tree.

Yes it convenient to give money. But it is a present wrapped in the paper which creates excitement. Giving money is more a sign to show that you have money. In fact in some culture giving is not considered good. It's better to give gifts.

if you know what sort of stuff the person likes then i'd say a present,but if they keep chopping and changing their mind,like my kids do,then i would say money or gift vouchers

I would wrap up money as a present! But I prefer to give a gift card. They spend like money but are pretty and convenient.
