I am a serial novel reader, I love to get attached to characters and I am looking for a new set to dive into. I have read all of the Twilight, Highlander series as well as several others. Help I need new pages!

What did you think of Twilight? (:
Artemis Fowl is an amazing series, in my opinion. You could give Shakespeare a go if you're brave - just to say you'd read the classics. 'Jane Eyre' by Charlotte Bronte is*amazing.* Probably the best book I've ever read. All of Haddix's books are entertaining, though sometimes the writing quality isn't spectacular. All of the books about the Casson family, by Hilary McKay, are hilarious and somehow quaint. Oh! And "Fetch," is a good one. I forget who it's by...but it's about a person/spirit whose job it is to lead those who have just died into the eternal realm or whatever but in a strange turn of events, ends up trading places with a mortal. Very interesting book, for sure.

Yeah, adventures are cool^^ I haven't ever heard of the Dragonlance books. I'll look them up sometime (: Right now I'm reading Brisingr, part of the Inheritance Cycle (Eragon Series).

Oooh you should check out Stephen King's Dark Tower series! I've finished the 4th one...and I'm going to be rereading the 5th soon (I read the 5th one first, a long time ago before I got the rest of the series). It is a really good story with characters you can defeniatly grow attached too. They're really smart charactes.

Another book I'd just like to recommend is Dean Koontz's Watchers. This isn't in a series but it is the BEST book I've ever read. And you will defeniatly love the characters in this!!! They are awesome and very very likable!

I hope I've helped!:) Let me know what you decide to go with!

Just thought of something else!:P lol

You should look into V.C Andrews books. She has many different series. Each series follows one family (through generations) in about 3-6 books. If you're interested, defeniatly check out the Cutler and De Beer's family books. Those are the first one's I read and I really liked them!!!

Here's a link to V.C Andrews....

"The Library" tab rolls down when you put your mouse over it, and shows ALL the different family series, click on them and it'll tell you a little about them:)

Done and done. sigh, I seem to have read myself out of books..lol.. I think I am going to read a few of the series my kid is interested in so that I know they are cool for her to read.

myLot reputation of 95/100. LilyoftheThorns (3769)   ranked 49 out of 10,256 in reading  1 month ago

OH wow! lol. You've already finished those!??! You are a good reader!:P

Well I have recommendations up the Wazoo so no worries! lol.

You should check out John Connelly's books. His books follow the same characters, although they switch off who is the main character and who are the helpers. I've only read one of his books so far, but I LOVED it and I have all his others in my room, which I will read in time.
The book I read was called Bad Men...defeniatly check it out! It isn't the first book in the series, but these aren't books you really have to read in order, you'll never be lost or confused about anything.
But Bad Men is one of my favorite books of all time; great characters, great writing, great suspense and action!!!

And if you want to read kiddy series books I can recommend some...I read this series called Heartland that I really enjoyed. It's about this girl who's parents died, so she's sent to work her aunts(?) horse rescue....it's a really good story! Also, a favorite of mine and my sister when we were younger---Pony Pals! lol

hi opinionatedlady if you like private eye stories with a woman private eye who is very different you will love Sue Graftons alpha bet series. I think I have read all of them up to the t one so will see if it is out yet. Also Stephen Kings Dark Tower series is great too, and Dean Koontz books are all great.

If you haven't read any of Jacqueline Carey's books, you might want to check her out. She wrote a lengthy series which began with Kushiel's Dart. It's an excellent fantasy series. Here is her website if you'd like to check them out: http://www.jacquelinecarey.com/books.htm

Do you know the "Pern" series by Anne McCaffery? Or the various series (but especially the Valdemar series) by Mercedes Lackey? I love all their books!

Love Anne McCaffery! I picked up on her stuff a while back because she happened to have My Nana's maiden name. Lackey I have not read but will look for next trip to Library.

Mercedes frequently co-authors books, usually great, but on occasion less than. But her Valdemar series, I promise you, since you loved McCaffery, will become one of your favorites!

Unlike Pern, which was a fantasy-like milieu but actually (loosely, anyway) science fiction, Valdemar is pure fantasy, but Mercedes writes in such a way that it has the most believable magic I've ever encountered. It will make you wish it were real, so you could live there!

What both series have in common (besides outstanding plots,) is an incredible array of characters you'll believe & love. Completely 3-dimensional, & it covers hundreds of years. It does that because the Valdemar series is actually part of a longer saga. The Valdemar books take place during one era in the mega series, near the end of the chronicles.

Oh, I envy you, getting to know the people there for the first time! Pern has dragons, Valdemar has the wondrous "Companions." You, too, are going to crave seeing these stories made into films; they're so visual!

The Poldark series is excellent and I think now runs to fourteen books but the first ten were the best. Winston Graham was the writer of this series set in Cornwall in England in the 1800's. Very well researched into the history of the times with ventures into France as well. From the tin mines of Cornwall to prison conditions and smuggling, landed gentry and hovel dwellers, a cracking good read.
