Do you have set days for doing things?

Like housework & laundry? For me, I do the laundry whenever I see that there is a load of washing to do...lately that has been everyday but we have just come out of winter here so now that we are nearing summer, it will probably be every second day. I also vacuum every morning because of the amount of traffic that comes through my house... Other than that, mondays are my BIG washing day where I strip the beds & couches (I put old sheets on the couches to keep them clean) & wash the towels too. Monday os also the day where I scub the bathroom & wash the floors...the house I moved into a week ago is great coz there isn't nearly as much floor space to mop as there was in the old house yay :) Do you have set days to do things or do you just do it as you see things getting dirty?

Hi Moonchild, whilst you are moving into summer we are starting out winter. I hate doing housework but laundry gets done a frequently, but the last month drying it has been difficult as it goes out in the sun one minute and the next minute it can be pouring with rain. I have not a single carpet to hoover, brush through regularly and mop when I have a surge of energy. If I've put things off in the week I get everything done on a Sunday. Whenever I'm away overnight though I like to make sure everything is clean and tidy for when I return.

I like to try & do the same if I leave to go any where but sometimes it doesn't happen that way...We had a drizzly day today but I was lucky enough to get my 4 loads of washing dry :)

Time differences It is still early here so the weather hasn't decided what it is going to do yet today, but it certainly hasn't warmed up yet.

Im really used to set days for doing things like laundry or cleaning our room. I also need to consider the weather and how much time will I spend in doing the chore.

I just sort of do things as I have time to do them. Everything gets done about once a week.

That's fair enough as we only have enough hours in the day to do things & as long as things get done & you're happy, that's the main thing :)

Naw..LOL I can't live on a schedule like that for a few different reasons really...I just do things as they need to be done or according to my mood and health on any given day.

That's fair enough - I was the same when I was working but now that I'm a stay at home mum, I try to do it more often

I am not so organised to have a set day to do things!! The only thing that I do on a certain day is a good cleaning of the toilet. I swish the bowl and wipe the floor everyday but Friday is the day to get everything done in there. I tutor kids at home and Friday is the day that the youngest kids come and they always need to use the toilet hence Friday has become my toilet cleaning day. Other things are really hit and miss, I don't like housework much plus I work as well but I usually manage in a week to get the whole house done, except my teenage sons room, I do not enter that place....too scarey. I think he is growing mushrooms under his bed!!!!

Who cares as long as you get things done right? Your son's bedroom does sound scary!! I hope my 2 1/2 year old daughter doesn't try that when she's in her teens lol.

You definately have a good work ethic there...I try to do the same thing but sometimes I feel lazy & will do half one day & half the following day...I shouldn't need to do that in my new house as it's alot smaller than the house I just moved from

I don't have set days to do things, I just do them when they need to get done. I have a couple of set dates of the month to pay bills, and put money into my savings account, but these are related to when I get paid.

I do that with the smaller things that need to be done during the week...I try to get everything done in the one day so I can relax & not do as much during the week...hence more mylot time
