I'm having a 'BATTY' day - things that are really dumb and insignificant - are driving me crazy... MyLot is a great place to get things off our chests... Please join me! It's mostly about DH today... DH will move dirty dishes from one sink to another - instead of putting them in the dishwasher! When we want to defrost frozen meat for dinner, we'll put it in the sink in warm water for an hour or so... But if there are dirty dishes in the sink, DH will move them to the other sink! PUT THEM IN THE DISHWASHER!! DH leaves his paperwork/med cases on the counter - instead of putting them back! We have a special basket that holds certain things and it's kept on the island counter...It keeps things neat, private and out of reach of little hands... DH has diabetes and EVERY morning, he leaves them on the counter - RIGHT OUTSIDE the basket! I have to put his logs, the bottle of alcohol, and insulin cases back in the basket! IT'S RIGHT THERE!!! DH rinses PAPER PLATES and PLASTIC CUPS! We started using paper plates and plastic cups for most meals, to save on clean up time, to allow little one to 'help' and to save on running the dishwasher... But DH is now saying we spend too much on paper plates and cups... He rinses them and puts them in the strainer to reuse! Okay - use the same cup for a few hours - but washing and drying a PAPER PLATE?? He's defeating the purpose of the convenience! DH cuts and butters toast on the cutting board - THEN places it on his plate - leaving crumbs everywhere - then washes his paper plate, but leaves the cutting board all crumby! USE A PLATE so I don't have to clean up your mess!!! DH will leave empty milk jug on counter instead of throwing it in the trash! IT'S TWO FEET AWAY! Too far for you to walk??? DH complains of being cold and blasts the heat in the car... WEAR A JACKET!! We dress appropriately - and we're uncomfortable because you DIDN'T!! DH doesn't the believe the labels on cleaning supplies and refuses to use them as directed! He uses Windex to clean everything - EXCEPT GLASS! So when I want to clean windows or mirrors - I have no WINDEX! He pours BLEACH in the toilets - I buy bowl cleaner for that! So when I have a load of whites, I have no bleach! AND it's going into the septic tank - which defeats the purpose of the natural bacteria that CLEAN it! DH doesn't think to save the 'good stuff' for our son... I buy expensive wipes for my son, for cleaning his tushie, his hands, his face... DON'T use them to clean your TOOLS! USE THE CHEAP ONES THAT I buy for wiping toys, cleaning sneakers, and general NON-SENSITVE clean up!!! DH refuses to keep the sink strainer in the drain! In the rare occasions that he actually cleans up his food mess, he'll take the strainer OUT of the drain! He says it's to clean it, but in the process, he's letting all sorts of food down the drain! It goes into the septic tank, clogs the drains, and makes the pipes stink (which prompts him to dump BLEACH down there)!! IT'S THERE for a reason! LEAVE IT ALONE! DEEP BREATH - HUGH SIGH! I feel better now. Anyone else??!!

For me, it's that - we have a basket on the bathroom counter where toiletries, etc., go, and he always leaves everything strewn across the counter instead. he will move a pile of laundry that needs to be folded, rather than folding it. he will leave empty cups and cans random places, and then, if he's cleaning up, put them in the sink instead of the dishwasher.

I have a few about my husband as well. Here we go. . . First off, I cook dinner for our family nearly every night. The only thing that I ask of him is to load the dishwasher or to do the dishes from that night so that our kitchen stays tidy. He never does it and I refuse to until he will take some part in the kitchen work as well. Next, he doesn't like to use the hair catcher in the bathtub when he takes a shower and the most recent result of that was having our tub clogged for a week while we tried to break up a clog. We finally were able to do it ourselves after working on it nightly for a week. We were about to have to hire a plumber that we couldn't afford. The last one that I can think of right now is the firewood. Our neighbor offered to let us borrow a splitter so we could split the logs that wouldn't fit into our fireplace and he went once and asked to borrow it, but it wasn't a good time for the neighbor to let us borrow it. He would not go up to their house and ask again. Finally I got it down here when the toddlers were outside playing and ended up on Mike's deck. He actually walked it down to the house for us.
