There is a theory that people vote one of two ways most of the time... personal interest or national interest. How about you?

The problem is too many people don't understand the Constitution. I sure would like to think our elected leaders understand it, but I am beginning to wonder.
Maybe they understand it, just view it as a roadblock to their personal goals. Then they make statements during the campaign that may sound as if they have the populaces interests at heart, but really it is just a hint that they plan to destroy the Constitution.
"Fundamentally change the country" comes to mind.

4. Rollo1 (1571) | 4 weeks ago | Voting in the interest of the country and its future IS in fact, voting in your own best interest personally. While the promise of one candidate or another may sound like something that will benefit you, at least in the short term, if it is detrimental to the security or economy or freedom enjoyed by the country, then it will eventually turn out to have been a poor choice and not in your best interest or that of your family and progeny. The nation's future is our future, people must start to weigh the impact of every choice and be courageous enough to make the choice that is right for the country.

5. vathsala30 (620) | 3 weeks ago | Hi I don't think people will think for the national interest. Because in this world, everybody is selfish and what they think and what they do is for their purpose only. If they vote for a person who is good, naturally, the prices of the essential commodities will be either comes down or do not increase which will benefit the voter. Their other needs will be taken care of like providing good roads, good water facilities, public transport system etc will be taken care of by the elected person
