Honest Opinions: Can Money Buy Happiness?

In general, money can't buy everything in this world. Money cannot buy heaven, money cannot buy love, but can buy a lover. Money cannot buy long lasting happiness, but can buy instant gratification. Personally, I think that money cannot buy happiness. I observed that most rich people doesn't seem so happy being with a lot of money. They are so scared that they surround themselves with a lot of body guards, their houses with a lot of barriers, and can't seem to enjoy fully the life that money brought them. I think the secret is contentment. What do you think?

Of course not. Money is maybe powerful but there is no way it can ever buy happiness. Just to illustrate this, In China, most women have to find a man to marry who is wealthy. However there are many cases where women find it miserable to be with a man whom they really do not love and cannot adjust to. They find their life disastrous even if their husband buy them everything they want. In short, money is not everything, you know!!

Life is too complicated. But ... it's very simple to be happy.

Well let's see. Right now I'm pretty healthy for my age so that's a good point other than stress. But, at the same time, I'm unemployed, without a tv because I can't pay the cable bill or afford the converter, waiting for my electric and gas to be shut off, my microwave just broke one week ago and my car brakes went, and I'm behind on all my credit cards right now. Soooooooo, can money buy me happiness right now? You betcha! I would pay off everything completely, yea!, help my daughters out as they have helped me through this crisis, buy a new computer so I could work at home (mine is 8 years old and has the shudders when I even mention the word Adobe, haha), buy some good food to eat instead of balogny, fix my car and sell it to get a nice new truck (4 x 4 of course), a whole bunch of fun stuff and I could finally wake up in the morning and smile instead of cry. Yes, it would work for me right now and it's not to go traveling the world or buy the fanciest namebrand clothes or most expensive item I could find. It would bring me peace of mind and most importantly I still have my health.

Money has different meaning to every one. Money for a person dying of hunger could be his salvation. (In the physical form). Money for a normal person could be a goal for him to gather. Money for a rich person could be his/her comparison. Money for a very very rich person could be nothing.

If you have a lot of money, you can try and better the lot of the people who are miserable because of the lack of it. Just another way to EARN happiness with money.

Money can make us happy but it can never buy our own happiness. Because if it does, I may have gather all the monies of the world! Haha.. Anyway, right now I am so sad and down, lonely, disappointed etc (yes i am!) and...if I have $20 million in my bank account I will be so happy but still it doesn't last long. I will still feel empty because it is not my true happiness. I mean material things doesn't make are lives fulfilled. It may on some areas for it does resolve some financial issues if ever. But money alone cannot make you better as a person. You may be full of money but with an empty heart. So it is useless.

Hi colu: i always try to be honest and express what i feel on the question and this is not the exception. I really feel that even if it's necessary money can't buy you happiness, you can make that people love you just because you're rich, you can forget your fears with money, you won't have peace just with money. Off course this is a material world, you need money to buy food, you need money for your education and for having a proper job, it's important but you can have it and even with that not being happy. Thanks for your question.

Money can buy things and materialistic things, up to a point. But to buy happiness, I don't think so. Maybe temporary happiness in the form of monetary things. But if you delve into it further, true happiness comes in the form of simplicity in everything in life. Good health, happiness and surrounded by friends and family members.

This world revolves around money. We cannot live without it. Like you, I believe that money can buy happiness. Many people takes great pleasure having tons of it. They can buy everything and meet what they need in their lives. It is a necessity in life.

We use money to make someone happy like buying him gifts, dream car and other precious thing. Even a child who accidentally pick a penny on the street will be n such great happiness.

See, it can really buy happiness. BUT it can NEVER BUY JOY. For joy is something coming from within. It is coming from priceless things in life.
