My heart goes out to you ElusiveButterfly. It made me think of my children and how I strive to be a better father by just being always there.
I will not even try to understand how hard is it for you to lose a loved one. I know it is not my place. But, I do believe that he is in a better place. God bless you and your family.

As certain anniversaries come around we are surrounded by lonely feelings or nostalgic feelings. I think they are hard to shake. Even if we are not conscious of them. In your case, with it just being a year, you are very conscious of the person you miss and all the memories. I do not think that ever quite goes away.

Time sure flies! I remember when he died.....wasn't his song....spirit in the sky? Time also doesn't always heal the enormous hurt or lonliness for those we have loved so dearly....RIP though...he is in a better place.

Oh my, a year has already passed, time does fly by. "Everyday above ground is a good day" that says so much. Tomorrow isn't promised to us, we do need to live each day to the fullest. In January it will be 4 yrs. since my hubby died. Sometimes it seems like yesturday other times it seems like a lifetime ago. I believe that someday we will get to see those that have gone before us. Sometimes it is a blessing when someone goes, no matter how much we hurt that they are gone. Your gonna have to make sure you live a long life for your kids, its got to be so hard to loose your dad.

Hi there friend I know the feeling in December my dad will have been gone for 3 years and I feel that is in the past however I also feel that I wish he was here. He was a good man and had things in his life that caused him to mean on osccasion however, I still feel that he was good to me and listen to me when I needed someone to talk to and that I miss the most. I did not always like what he had to say after I talked but I still enjoyed and still miss our talks. I know someday you and I both we see our dads and for that I am greatful as well. But for now I have more work on here to do and change things for the better on my part for others around me everyday, plus my girls need me too. Take care friend and message me anytime if you just want to vent or talk it might take me awhile to get back but I try to respond to all my messages.

Monday will be a difficult time for you and your family. One thing though, is that you have many happy memories and you will remember and share these together as you give thanks for his life with you. Keep hearing the sound of his laughter. I know you will be the tower of strength for the family and that you know where to lean for your own strength. Miss him, but be happy for him.

Sorry to hear of your loss and the pain. I do know the way you feel from losing my sister 9 years ago and still missing her. I still will be out and tell myself that I have to go home and call her to tell her something. But the good things are still on my mind and will stay there.

This truly is a problem and talking about it makes it easier day by day. You will always miss him this will not change but as time goes by you find a way to deal with it and live for him and the children. He is probably watching over you if you feel him that much then he is worried and there to comforting you as you go through the rough patches. Right now every where you look you feel or see something that reminds you of something he did or loved and this is the rough stages. I know for I am just starting to deal with the loss of my Uncle who lived with us for 15 years that passed in Jan 2008. It is rough for 7 months I would fix his plate at every meal and then just look at myself and ask why I keep doing this. I would sit in his room the first 3 days after he died and just feel as if he was there talking to me and maybe he really was. Hubby was pretty much the same way. We moved into his room and it helped. I believe he saved my life twice since he passed and has probably helped in lots of ways. I know for sure he saved me on the highway for I started to fall a sleep and was about to hit a semi when I heard him yell plain as day and I pulled over and woke up and got my composer back. I know he watches over me for sure and lots of people think I am just losing it but some know just what I mean. I have brought his ashes everywhere with me. I also think he had the pushing power to get me to move to KY where things are getting better for us and I am back at helping people once again. I wear a necklace with his ashes in it and this also helps me a lot when I feel like I can't I seem to rub it and I do it or at least try. My advice for you is do things you and him loved to do and this is your time with him and then maybe this will help you as it has for me. If you ever need to talk we are here for you. God Bless you.
