Where is the universe located?

The last time I checked, the universe was located in outer space.
Seriously, because of my faith, I believe that it was God who brought about the "big bang" which formed the universe and its galaxies and stars and all of that. I don't believe it came about by pure chance.

I think we have made some pretty decent conclusions on the basics of our origins, I can't get my head around the "big bang" (which actualy wasn't a bang, per se), the concept of a single point of infinately dense matter, where all forms of energy were one and mass was meaningless, to suddenly being billions of light years across (what we can see anyway) takes some serious thinking. I believe based on all we know it is what probably happened, it's just difficult to visualize.

The material universe is all matter, from the center of the earth to the end of the furthest galaxy, wherever it may be. I'm not an expert on such matters, or even a scientist of any kind, but I find it more plausible (not that it makes it true, of course) that the universe was always this enormous sizzling brew of matter being flung and splattered and rearranged all over the place.

Then came quantum physics and we got multiple universes and the possibility that matter is just another wave form. It gives me a headache imagining that. Some people are saying with quantum science we can further than we ever did before. I haven't heard anything of late that was definite, just (heh) possibilities. I chuckled at that since one of the theories is that for every possible reaction, another universe is made. Our observation chooses the reality. Please don't ask me to explain further. I'm not an expert in the field. I just read books that are over my head.

Hi This is the question I ask myself most of the time...
My opinion is from the sun by the huge bang burst out and the small pieces of planets where scattered out. In the way, the stars also by the big bang, bursted from the initial thing scattered as Sun. The bang and all these process where made by the GOD. These are all the play of GOD. After days passed he was so bored on bursting out stars and wanted to see bursting in small things.. So he created humans and bursted their hearts... Thats it.. These are all his plays.. Life is too short. So dont think of it. Be happy...Take Care.. Byeeeeeee....

Are we kind of feeling like ANTS??? Man does not have that knowledge yet just like man can not cure cancer yet. Quantum physics suggests many dimensions and possible universes. I'm afraid things are even bigger than most can imagine. Man will search and discover. There is more of everything that we don't know than we do. Good students that we are, we will all learn in time.

One word. PHILOSOPHY. This drives human to the edge of desperation to find the truth, knowledge and wisdom of the creation and the reason for everything on Earth, and Earth itself. Many people believe in different theories, and some, in none. This is what caused the different cultures and religions we humans have created out of our theories of the creation of Earth. This question cannot be answered simply through a theory, for me, i need evidence, scientific evidence. I cannot believe in something where it is based on simply words.

hi kaushal, talking from the scientific point of view i guess this things shall remain a little controversial for coming thousands of years!.. these all are just theories put up to try to understand what has happened millions of years ago, it sounds interesting to me too, when i was younger i used to wonder as well and as the universe keeps expanding to infinity we can't even define what infinity is here, is there anything bigger than the universe, no i guess universe is the biggest i mean everything comes inside it... it has always interested me what actually had happened and how this universe came into existence but i guess i am not that interested in it coz i believe in something different.. I believe in God.

It makes no sense to ask where is the universe any more than it makes sense to ask, "Where is time?"

The singularity or small 'egg' as you call it, was space, was everywhere. Perhaps you might like to think of it as all time and space folded into a single point.

This is really an interesting question. According to my views, I believe in big bang and scientists also. As per my knowledge, Universe comprises of eleven big galaxies from which one is ours. The galaxy of our contains about twenty one or two solar systems and the one is our, having sun and ten planets now, and we belong to the earth. Isn't it all sounds amazing. We're from a galaxy, the milky way. May be in other part, other people exist because if life is possible in our solar system on earth, due its suitable temperature for living beings, there must also a planet like earth with similar conditions where either life existed from even longer than earth or may be its under evolution. But I also trust that there is a need of some power to run all this system, thats nature, we call God. And there eleven galaxies always keep on repulsing each other hence the universe is expanding but the rate of expansion is inversely proportionaly to the distance between them.

It is really a difficult task to answer your discussion. In fact, there are still no apparent proof that tell us the location of the universe.

According to some famous specialists in this area, the universe is a self-contained system which bends in on itself. Meaning if you were to travel in any direction for a very long time you'd eventually come back to the same exact spot.

That is to say, the universe is all over and an exact location has not been determined.
