Would you sacrifice comfortable clothes just to look cute/beautiful? |
|
Recently, my girlfriends and I went out for lunch. Thinking it was just a typical day, I wore comfortable clothes: a cute shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes -- rugged and casual to say the very least. I was surprised when I went in the restaurant, 2 of my friends were all dressed up! I've never felt so dressed "down" in my entire life. Sounds funny, but I actually felt out of place. We had a friend who was running late, and I was wondering if she dressed up too as well. To my relief, she was also wearing the same outfit as I did, and we laughed as we were both wearing comfortable clothes. On typical days, I like to wear comfortable clothes. But on days where there are special occasions, I try to dress up too, but sometimes, I still want to wear comfortable clothes. I remember one of my girlfriends said to me a long time ago when I was the one who felt uncomfortable for her choice of clothes, "Sacrifice comfort for cuteness!" I mean, you look good, but you're not enjoying too much, given the fact that you are uncomfortable. Hahahha. But I am guilty of it too at times, during formal parties and other parties as well How about you? Would you sacrifice comfort for cuteness?

1. bjcyrix (2821) | 4 weeks ago | Simple answer: NEVER.
Im sure there are those who would suck up all the pain and discomfort just so they would look good and have perfect photos. Im just not one of them. I also prefer the kind of clothes that you wear: jeans, shirt, rubber shoes, Id add my backpack and a tribal necklace(aside from the wristwatch). That would be my day to day outfit, going to school or just walking around the city. I prefer to be comfortable with what I wear so I can be ready for anything. Kinda like being "on-the-go" cause Im never too sure when Ill be messaged saying I need to submit this, or am required to go to this place and get that or something.
Of course, there are situations where in I have to sacrifice my own comfort, but not because of being cute, but because the situation calls for it. Like you mentioned a formal dinner, I certainly couldnt attend that wearing my daily getup.
As a rule of thumb for me: Ill wear jeans and rubber shoes whenever possible, if not, resort to slacks and high cut boots. That's just me anyways.^_^

2. rg0205 (1718) | 4 weeks ago | Clothes? No. Shoes, Yes.
I actually am not fond of wearing pumps or high heels but sometimes because of my job, I have to look good and presentable. Then I have to have shoes that match my outfit and sometimes, the shoes aren't exactly comfortable.
As for clothes, I don't recall ever wearing something uncomfortable just to look cute. I think if I don't feel comfortable then I don't look cute because it's not just the clothes itself that should look good. If you're not comfortable, you can't carry it well, so then, to me, you won't look that good. The clothes may look nice but it probably won't look good on you.

aixshaonline (290) | 4 weeks ago | I like looking at high-heeled shoes, but I'm not too fond of wearing them either. Though I want to at times, the strain is sometimes just too much. I do agree with you! If you feel uncomfortable, you won't be able to carry the clothes that well.

| 3. kawaiirinchan (16) | 4 weeks ago | i like to wear comfortable clothes. wearing other than comfortable clothes would affect my mood. i became nasty and bitchy. there was a time when my mom always nagging me to wear cute dresses when i was young. she said i look cute with ruffles. i don't like ruffles specially the garterred sleeves. ewwww... its itchy and i look bad in the pictures. you could always wear comfortable clothes plus be cute with it. i always go for good quality cloth and cute design. it is an investment. that way i can have both worlds

syndrix (322) | 4 weeks ago | Well for me, if for example i am the son of the president of the United States why not sacrifice Levis501 just to make it cute. Hehehe. But if you are just an ordinary person then i think or even not an ordinary person it is not good to sacrifice a clothes just to make it cute.

aixshaonline (290) | 4 weeks ago | I know what you mean! The shoes really look cool and good, but it can be torture once you wear them for quite a while. But at times, it might be good to invest in good shoes too, in the long run.

10. mommaj (1063) | 4 weeks ago | Once you are older and married you usually wear comfortable, SENSIBLE, clothes. Even your dress up clothes are comfortable, just in case you have to be in them longer than expected. LOL I think comfort can be "cute" so you don't have to sacrifice either if you want to be "cute".
