What media player are you using? |
| |
| I use Media Player Classic for both audio and video. It's really fast, has all the functions I need, supports all file types and plays broken files too. I have pretty slow computer and media player classic handles large video files much better than VLC, which I'm using sometimes on the other computer. | | | | | |

| | I like Real Player the best. It works great for me, and its free, which is very important.Although I don't like their newest upgrade, so I kept the last one and haven't upgraded even though they bug me a lot to do so. | | | | | | |

| | I have VLC, Windows Media Classic, of course, then I also have DivX player. It all depends on what type of media file I'm playing. Sometimes one software is better than the other. | | | | | | |

| | Classic Media Player, I have heard of it but never used it. I use VLC and find it great, it seems to play anything you throw at it and its easy to use. I might check out Classic Media Player and see what it all about as I know lots of people that use it and swear by it. | | | | | | |

| | MPC. Light, classic and simple look and interface, a decent range of options and possibilities, can play files with soft subs without any problem, it's adaptable when it comes to codec and splitter usage. What's not to like about it? I think that it's lacking a nice playlist like say... Winamp's, but otherwise. I'm just plain and simply not using clunky WMP just because of that feature for sure, plus that or any other player out there is just too flashy for its own good. I want a player to see video or watch music, not to see some fancy show light or a pretty GUI skin. | | | | | | |

| | I use winamp for audio and media player classic for videos. Sometimes MPC doesn't support some videos, so I go for VLC. Winamp works best for audio atleast for me because its fast and doesn't take long for opening... | | | | | | |

| | If you install mega codec pack, you won't find a video file it won't play. | | | |

| | Well you are right in a way. MPC can play every format but what I'm talking about is something different. Sometimes videos are damaged, corrupt or incomplete (like when you download from a torrent and the torrent ain't completed downloading). In such cases, VLC is what comes handy... | | | |

| | I'm playing broken and unfinished files with MPC. One time the mkv file was corrupt and there were missing bits. Both MPC and VLC could play the video fine, but only with MPC I could see the subtitles. The only thing I don't like about vcl is when I hit pause, there's like half second delay. Is it the same for you or is it because I have a slower computer? | | | |
Bionicman (1901)

| | Oh, and sometimes I have some problems taking snapshots with MPC so I use VLC for that. | | | |

| | Ya VLC is good for screenshots. I don't usually take screen shots but still I've always used VLC for that purpose. And about the delay, maybe it depends upon the video quality. The frames per second property of it might determine whether it'll form a delay thats noticeable or not... | | | |

| | I use Windows Media Player and VLC. Sometimes I have seen some files do not play in media player and ends up with showing some error. Though if I try them in VLC they run smoothly. I like the VLC skins and I audio effects configurations in Media player. | | | | | | |
