forgetting peole's name. too shy to ask. have u experienced this?

ya ofcourse i have had this problem i really have a bad memory mostly i will start like i like have a bad memory let me guess your name and i will guess some standard names to get his/her name

yes this happened to me in the 7th grade i did not know my friend's name
which later he became my best friend i didnt want to ask his name too weird
to do so i waited until half a year until i found his name through another
friend it was very relieving. if you dont know their name you can get away by calling then hey if you knew them for a while

I have had this too. It can be so awkward. I always try to stall and look for hints. Sometimes I just avoid using names and try to pretend I do know to save face. I am always to shy to just ask!:-)

This has happened lots of time and it is very embarrassing situation.yaa i felt shy to ask for the name.
But i apologies for my bad memory and ask for a name with a promise that i wont forget again. and really i remember it always.

So far its a No..i always do remember people with their face and name..ehhee! Even its not their full name but their nickname i do still remember.

Absolutely,just last sunday i have experienced this awkward thing but fortunately i know the name of this forgetting people.
last sunday when i bought some necessary stuff in the supermarket,a lady patted my shoulder in the back of myself.she smiled to me and begin to talk.i keep thing what she is,but i know nothing about her.so i wanted to learn more about her and asked the question:Hi,look at you,you're brillant.how long have we seen each other since last time?And she said it's about three years after talking in the graduation ceremony.And then i asked:what do you do after graduation? I keep asking questions and finally i remember what exactly she is.
so when we're too awkward to ask the person's name,maybe you can try the way what I do:) and best wishes.

Rather than act like I completly forgot who they were I sometimes just say "I am sorry, I forgot your first name." I have found that most of th time when I do this they repeat there first and last name. STILL though I would not like the ype of questions she was asking.

This happens to me a lot of times because I'm really not that good in names, especially if I had only met them a few days or seldom see them. In that case I just talk to them normally without saying their name, continuing the conversation and making him/her comfortable, after that I'll just ask my friends who he/she is. Happy mylotting!

It happens with me also and many a times I forget the name of a person, if I happen to see him/her at a public place. I put pressure on my mind to come out with his/her name so that I could talk to or could great him/her. My memory sometimes fails me because we keep meeting so many people in our day-to-day life and sometimes it really becomes difficult to remember their names.

I think we all have experienced this one a time or two. Especially when you live in a bigger area like I do, you meet so many people all of the time that it is hard to remember everyone, even if they once told you their name. But I have had people start talking to me, and I have asked them where I know them from, etc. and then try to see if it is worth continuing to talk to them as well. But many times I have just let it go for fear of feeling made a Fool as well, so I can understand your apprehension.
