Heck, just trying to get an approximate number on who will be attending Thanksgiving day events is enough to rattle ones brain!
*appetizer(1pm)
*Dinner(3pm)
*desert(5pm)
*round #2 dinner(7pm)
*desert #2(8pm)
*evening drinks (9pm)
Then there's the bringing in of extra tables & chairs, finding room in the freezer for all the food items, setting up of pie racks (outside), finding all the good china & flatware, cleaning it all by hand (not dishwasher safe that GOOD stuff, ya know?), in addition to all the regular top to bottom house cleaning, the starting of deserts days in advance....etc.
I love it!
I Can't wait to have all my babies home for the day!

The gifts go in the closet here! That is the computer room closet. There is a spare bedroom in the house and we use this room to put our laptop and computer in. The closet has our spare groceries, mine and my husband's Wedding Gifts (we can't use yet), and wrapping paper, paint, etc.
We need to make room in our own closet, lol but not for Christmas Preparations!

That is what I have to do every year also. I have to put a few things away or move them around to make room for the Christmas tree and indoor decorations. I love Christmas and all of the festivities it brings.

Wow, it sounds like you have quite the place to be around the holidays. Maybe I should stop by. LOL
I was thinking about where I am staying right now, in this same manner. I am wondering whether to put Christmas decorations up, or just let it be. Mainly since it is not my place. I could always put a stocking or two up, and load my bed with my Christmas teddy bears that usually go under my tree. But haven't quite decided yet.
So, how are you coming along with the rearranging? Are you managing to find the extra space that you were hoping?

It is not only over the holidays that there is never enough space. It is always! I was reading a magazine today about Urban Living (now that I'm out in the country, lol) and the homes they featured were so large and spacious I could not help wondering what percentage of the people in the world actually live that way. I am minimalist about furniture so that frees up some space. I cannot stand a cluttered look.

I think that is half the fun of christmas we are the same,we have a 14 ft by 16ft front room and beleave me you would not beleave how many people we have had in our room all eating, talking playing with the kids toys.We call it the tardis, don't matter how many people turn up they all fit in.

Oh, I agree, it is a race against time to be ready. If you do not see me here, you will have to know that I am busy cleaning.

I'm trying to clear up the clutter and get rid of stuff I don't need, just for my own sake. I have too much stuff and not enough room.

It works out in my house, here's why. We have so much darn Christmas crap that it frees up a whole closet! I can store anything extra that I need to right in the closet during Christmas time. We too have friends and family stopping by for drinks and such. Last year I was able to put my mother-in-law in the closet so as to enjoy her visit more! LOL. Anyways, come January, no more Christmas. The closet transforms back into "the Christmas Closet" for the rest of the year.

I have to make room for my Christmas Tree in the living room. So that means I have to change furniture around and then take down my normal decor in the living room to make room for my Christmas Decorations. It a lot of work but its worth it. I have enough room for family

I know the feeling about not having enough space. When I first looked at the house I thought hey this is plenty big for us, but after everything was brought in now I realize that we do not have enough room. I have two storage sheds and I am sure that we will have to use them both.

Well I am not because I rarely ever have anyone over for christmas ,in fact I am sure I wont have anyone over.I may go to look for mom so if anyone is making space it will be her. That is one of the things I dont like about holidays, the constant displacement and hassle
