a couple hundred pinecones. I also cut one-third page flyers out and stuffed balsom pillows. Love working for the herb company, I always am doing something different. The wired pinecones will help her make over 100 wreaths.
Do you do the same thing at your job all the time or something different? Have the duties of your position changed? Have you retired? Working or not, do you do something different every day?

mostly I do the same thing over and over, but that's okay, I can think about other things
I did data entry for years, that was fine, I could listen to the radio, or, later, audio books - the brain didn't need to engage on the job, just eyes to fingers, little brain interaction...

True, my husband loves it. He can do all kinds of things in his mind at work. Plan his woodworking, his weekend, etc.
Plus any job in this day and age is a blessing since so many people are loosing theirs. A friend of mine just contacted me. She's a teller at a bank, she just got the job. Normally, I think she would be disappointed because she has college degress and has taught college, but with the colleges downsizing and the factories going out around here, she's happy she just got a job.

I've had a few of those jobs. I like my brain engaged. I love a challenge. Even if it is the same thing over and over again, like wiring pine cones, I haven't done it before and it's new. She gives me something new every once in awhile and I like that.

Do you work from home when working for the herb company? Wiring pinecones could be tough on the hands. Do you wear gloves?
I recently retired. Worked at a sporting facility for the last 8 years but it was time to go. Was only part time and pretty much seasonal anyway. I am now helping our daughter and her husband with their baby as needed. They both work as firefighters/paramedics and need someone to stay with their little girl, who is now one, a few times a week. I am the someone and love it. Each day is different since she is learning to stand up and crawls like she's going to a fire. It's been fun and very rewarding.

I'm happy you get to do that.
The pine cones are smooth eastern pines and the wires are coated with green something are other. My hands are fine. Just loop around and twist, onto the next one. Stuffing balsam pillows, once in awhile I get picked by a stray piece of wood, but not very often.
She's a year, my goodness, time is just flying by. So she takes after her firefighting parents, huh? Well, she's got a start.

I hope that you wear gloves for such a tedious job. It can be rough on your hands. I am still working as a home health aid. The good thing is that I never tire of my work.

that sounds neat. i work in a small office where i am sort of jack of all trades. i do all the ordering of supplies, stuff envelopes, pack brochures for trips, plus answering the phone and typing letters. its always different and usually crazy!
