Who wants you to "Die Quickly" now?

The government is now telling women under 50 NOT to have mammograms. For those over 50 they are saying to have mammograms only once every two years. The American Cancer Society and doctors and physicians all over the nation are objecting to this latest release. They are also telling people to stop doing self mammograms entirely claiming they are pointless. I can tell you that I have had several friends whose breast cancer was detected early due to either self mammograms, or unofficial mammograms by their boyfriends/ husbands. Is this the new health plan Obama is pushing? I'd say democrats like Alan Grayson have a lot of nerve claiming republicans want you to "die quickly" and then supporting this load of crap.

I saw that on the news and thought..are they nuts? There are a lot of lives that have been saved because they have gotten mammograms in their 30's and 40's. The cancer society is still sticking with the old guidelines which I think is best too.

no - but think about how much we will save in tax money if we dont have to save all of those people from early detection. Its frickin astonishing - I have quite a few close friends and acquaintances that are still here due to early detection.

It's not about just saving money...but the saving of lives. Apparently, the government is not concerned with one as much as the other. Can anyone say...depopulation agenda? Sorry, I know many don't agree with me on this. But something so obviously needed to save lives and is now not cost effective? What IS one to think?

It's not just about whether grandma can get hip replacements due to being old and non productive....it's about wage earners dying and leaving children with no support. Sorry to be so blunt..but out of Obama's own mouth...we knew he didn't agree with the elderly getting 'unnecessary' treatments. Now he doesn't seem to think that mothers and wives need to have their lives saved either.

AND it's about the government going against what DOCTORS reccommend, but we were told this wouldn't happen with Obamacare?

I think this is just another way for the government to save spending in their Medicare and Medicaid programs as part of Obama way to support his Health Care Program. We have already been warned that these would be the first to a get a hatchet job done to them. I think I was pretty clear in my disapproval in the discussion I opened on this subject and the disapproving responses it received.

Yep, talk about your pre-emptive strikes. This is just the beginning folks, they are rolling this crap out before the damn bill is even passed. Ordinarlity I loce a good "I told you so", but this is nothing for me to be happy or gloating about. This is the beginning of a long growing trend you will see happening. It's obly the beginning. They are getting the frame work in place for future rationing and pencil pushing.

Which begs the question, even if they don't pass the health care bill (though they probably will), will the health insurance industry take this and run with it as an excuse to not have to pay out as much? I wish I had the names of the people who supported this public statement, so I know who to accuse of setting us back in terms of adequate health care.

"Yep, talk about your pre-emptive strikes." That's exactly what this is. That's why they used the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. They figured if they got a lot of heat over it they could just blame the task force. They are claiming the group is independent, even though the members are appointed by the federal government. Sebelius is now doing damage control claiming she doesn't agree with them. This was merely a test fire to see how we reacted. "will the health insurance industry take this and run with it as an excuse to not have to pay out as much?" Absolutely. This task force is considered the "Gold Standard" when it comes to recommendations. I assure you insurance companies are all over this and making adjustments now.

I was shocked when I saw this one the news. Do you know how many womens' lives are saved every year by early detection? This is going to cause a lot of needless deaths. Who in their right mind would support this?

Someone who cares more about cutting costs than saving lives, that's who.

All I can say is I told you so....but I'll try not to harp on it. lol Healthcare reform Obama style - means healthcare rationed. I knew I was right when they said that medicare spending would be reduced. Now I am convinced. Anyone still think he's trying to HELP us?

I've sat and wondered about the reasoning behind saying we should even stop self exams. Obviously, they can't enforce that...women who know better will still do this. But why add that? Obviously, they can enforce the no mammograms until 50...after all, they're in charge of spending the money they steal from us. But does it not make you wonder why add the no more self exams? Knowing they can't keep us from doing this....that's just crazy.
