Saturday night, Annise Parker, who is a lesbian, won the election of Houston mayor, and I think she is one tough cookie that is going to try very hard to get her city back on track. Her opponent was not squeaky clean by any means. I think it is wonderful that Houston has a lesbian mayor because its a step to people realizing that people are just people, doesn't matter what color they are or if they like men or women. I encourage every opinion to be said on here though.

Heh - the Houston Oilers, I remember those guys. My dad used to be a big fan before they sold out to another state.
The Texan obsession with football in general seems a little unhealthy to me. The highlight of almost everyone's night in a small town is the high school foot ball game. The biggest offense you could commit to some people is to buy them the wrong team's paraphernalia. One Christmas I gave my brother a Texas Longhorn's shirt, but before he opened I asked him, "You love the Aggies, right?"
The glare he gave me was hilarious.
I thought he was going to throw the box at my head.

I hope the best one won. I don't think being a gay politician is news anymore.

Way to go Houston...even if the city does still suck.
