hi there, i don't read a lot of books, maybe 2 or 3 in an year, i prefere to read manga, but i like fantasy books a lot, like the lord of the rings, now i would like to read a book like it, but i can'f go to the library this evening. Maybe i'll take a book yesterday. And what about you friends? How many books do you read in a year? And what kind of books do you like? Thank you for your responses :)

I read at least one book a month and would like to read at least 3 times that amount! I love reading, I enjoy entering another world of imagination or knowledge. Someday I might have the time to read all that I want to.

I read two books per week. Since I am a member of two libraries, one in English and the other in tamil language, I read both the language books. In English usually all famous books are bought by my daughter and some are given as gifts to me and my husband by my children for our birth days and wedding day. So at any given point, two or three English language books will be there to read. Now I am going to start 'Lost Symbol" of Dan Brown soon.

I do not even count. I am a voracious reader, but sometimes life gets in the way. Did you know there is a free version of Amazon's Kindle reader that can be downloaded in windows now?! It has many free titles, too, in addition to the free previews of anything they carry. I do not finish everything I start--sometimes I read things just to find information. With good novels it is different. I was one of those kids who used to read every word printed on the box of breakfast cereal or the soup can...fidgety, that way :-)

I'm not sure how many books I read a year, but it's a lot more that 2 or three a year. I read books for my classes, and I also read other books for my own pleasure on top of the ones I read for my courses. I don't know how many books I read a year. Too many to counts. It depends on the year, how much time I have to read books, and such. It just depends on a lot of things.

I've read 84 books so far this year. Yes, I actually counted. I'll probably read at least six or seven more before the new year. I read like mad. I usually read 2 or 3 books in a week. If I don't have a book to read then I feel lost.
I really like fantasy books like "Lord of the Rings" too. The sub-genre has a name, actually. It's called "High Fantasy", and it's where a fantasy novel takes place almost entirely in a made up world and often involves some kind of epic battle between good and evil. That's my kind of book. I like urban fantasy and science fiction too. I'll occasionally read a realistic fiction or a non-fiction book, but I don't really like them as much.
