This is so laughable that I had to post it right away. Rep. Alan Grayson, (D-FL) the moron who said the Republican healthcare plan was for people to die quickly and called an adviser to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke a "K street wh0re" is now DEMANDING that Attorney General Eric Holder put a woman in jail for FIVE YEARS for making a web site mocking him. The woman is named Angie Langley and started a website called MyCongressmanIsNuts.com which mocks Grayson for his absurd behavior and seeks to raise money for candidates who may run for his seat in congress. I can't wait to see his supporter, I think he has only one on mylot, try to defend this scumbag. In case your wondering, his excuses for trying to get her in prison are that she is mean, that she used the website MyCongressmanIsNuts.com when he's not actually HER congressman since she lives a few miles outside his district, and that she falsely claimed that the Committee supports or opposes more than one candidate even though it only opposes him. The moron is too stupid to realize the word "supports" is there as well and she supports any and every candidate that opposes him. Here is the most amusing lines from his complaint. "Ms. Langley has chosen a name for her committee that is utterly tasteless and juvenile." http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_politics/2009/12/grayson-wants-to-send-critic-to-jail-for-five-years.html http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_politics/files/2009/12/Grayson-Holder-Complaint-121609-0013.pdf

This is just further proof that Liberalism is a mental disorder. This illustrates the fact that liberals can't stand criticism and want to silence all dissent... and don't believe in the 1ST Amendment. They want to put people in prison for saying things that they don't like... and that is what the Hate Crimes legislation was all about. I believe that Grayson's first term is going to also be his last term.

Starsailover...Well, that is all well and good, except for the reality part. When looking to the other countries who have passed Hate Crime legislation, it had quickly turned into Thought Crime legislation.... and the things you say can be just as illegal as the actual act of committing the crime. Hate crime is nothing more that legislating thought... because it goes to your "frame of mind" when the crime was committed. Speech comes into play when someone says "This individual drove me to committing the crime when he preached against the victims lifestyle last Sunday"... Or "I read this from this writer and I realized that something had to be done". There have already been cases where words have been treated as Hate Speech and a crime when no actual physical crime had been committed. Since ALL crime is based on Hate, and since ALL murders and assaults definitely are... and since Hate Crime legislation does not apply to all victims of crime... why don't you explain to me the reason that you think having Hate Crimes is a good thing... hmmm? Hates Crimes have morphed from "Special Circumstances" rules that used to apply to policemen and the like when they were attacked. Those rules were no more representative of equal justice then Hate Crimes are today, because it elevates certain groups of people over certain other groups. There is nothing fair or just about it.... and yes it does extend to speech and even thought. By the way... hows the weather in Mexico? I ask, since as a Mexican, our laws have no affect on you unless you break them here in the US.

Hi destiny: I think it must exists a clear difference between hate crimes and freedom of speech. I don't commit a hate crime if i express my opinion in a subject, i criticize what a person does without being racist, i means, if i refer to a person being objective i am not using hateful words and what i do it's not a crim, i have this freedom. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. -Alvaro.

ROFL!!!!! Wow! Ok, so I have toi ask, since it hasn't been said yet, what specific charges is he suggesting she be brought up on? It has to be a felony, since he seems to say it carries a 5 year sentence, a misdemenor would only carry up to two years. Did he cite a spcific staute or law that she broke? sigh...another great moment in congressional facepalm history. this one requires a compalation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RA06Z5e1ZFc

He's cited 18 US.C. 1001 claiming she's committed fraud by having the word "My" in her website title since technically, he is not HER congressman. He's also saying she fraudulently claimed the website supports or opposes more than one person when it only opposes him. Of course he's too stupid, or hopes Holder is too stupid, to realize that she supports more than one person who opposes him. Either way, here's a link to the law he's citing. http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/usc_sec_18_00001001----000-.html

Good god is he kidding? this would be laughed out of court, if it ever even made it there and the judge would cite for contempt any procecutor dumb enough to waste the courts time with it. I am no fan of Holder, but I don't think even he is dumb enough to persue this. Grayson is just bellowing hot air and doing what Grayson does bets, being an asss.

Actually, I think Angie Langley deserves some kind of medal of honor. This is an excellent way to shed some light on the problem called a politician. Public exposure of their wacky ideas and comments, and any corresponding humiliation that goes with it is an excellent tool. There are a whole lot of incumbent congressmen that need such a website. The hurdle she runs into is that for most liberal democrats freedom of speech ends when you disagree with them. These people consider themselves above both facts and debate, and they just expect you to shut up!

I think the tool is just as important for a Republican (believe it or not). Public servants doing a public work should only expect their words and actions to be available for public scrutiny and comment, especially in this day of information overload. In the past, their were real restrictions as to how one politician could respond to the concerns of all his constituents. Now, with the use of their own websites, they can provide answers to lots more questions and satisfy far more people. Of course they have to put truth out there, not just politically correct rhetoric. djbtol

You know, I can't even call this a liberal democrat thing because sites like this are all over the web for both republicans AND democrats. Pelosi and Obama have hundreds if not thousands of sites like this and neither has ever said a word about them. Grayson is a jerk and a coward who can't handle any criticism.

"...I can't wait to see his supporter, I think he has only one on mylot, try to defend this scumbag..." Gee, Taskr, I sure wish I knew who the one supporter you referred to is...lol! Anyone here have any guesses? Seriously, I'm clearly in a no-win situation here. If I'd simply decided to ignore this thread and not respond, I'd have been "hiding" or "dodging", if I were to "defend" this silliness I'd really be bashed and called every name in the book and if I were to simply be honest and say I'm not going to defend the indefensible you'd then insist on baiting me by saying I couldn't possibly still like Grayson unless I were some kind of a moron or whatever. Whatever...I'm not going to defend him on this, this is silly and I still do like him in many ways! What happens in his district in Florida is up to the voters there. Annie

I am just so amazed at how full of themselves people can be, and to have a congressman be so full of himself, and so immature, is embarrassing and a bit frightening. This guy is an jerk, another one of his idiotic statements from the past was about "ending this Holocaust in America", and he is Jewish.... This man needs to grow up, and grow some brain cells. I just thank god that he is not my congressman, or close to being my congressman, if he was, i would be on the bandwagon of mycongressmanisnuts.com.

Is it just me, or do the biggest, meanest, loudest-mouthed jerks tend to be the biggest crybabies once someone dishes it right back? (Here's a good excuse for me to rant! lol) It reminds me of those haughty spoilt brats that grew up to be smug elitists who will get up in your face, yell and scream, spit and curse, and demean you in ways that, if you're susceptible to emotional distress, will literally scar you. But as soon as you punch them in their smug nose, it's "OMG! Violence is NEVER the answer! I'm calling the police and filing a lawsuit!" And it's even worse when someone's in a position of authority. In the town I grew up in (it was a small town at the time), most of the kids that were loud-mouthed a-holes but could never handle themselves with their hands were the ones who joined the sheriff's department after graduation. And they subsequently became the meanest, authority-abusing cops in the county. My dad said it was the same way when he was a kid -- those dish-it-but-can't-take-it types setting themselves up in positions of authority. One word sums it up: Baby! A lot of people tend to think of politicians as more than just people. But they're exactly that: just people. It seems that, at least sometimes, sissies are running for office to change their place in society and not to help change society. I think these are the same people that can't sing, dance, act or do anything else to seat themselves high above the populous so that they can look down their noses as they're rubbing everyone else's face in sht. I'm certainly no shrink, but I think it's obvious this sissy-boy has some real issues.

Unfortunately when people are elected they have not had to go through a filter of character or maturity. The public servant that is there to serve is really a rare thing.

Grayson is the most ridiculous person I've ever heard of and today I've heard of many ridiculous people. You can't sue somebody for making a website of things you actually said and are recorded on public record. You certainly don't have the power to send them to jail for fives years. I think if he actually succeeds which he won't, I'm packing up my things and my cat and moving out of the country. This entire idea is very offensive, even though I don't live anywhere near Grayson's district, I agree with the lady. Her congressman is nuts.

"Ms. Langley has chosen a name for her committee that is utterly tasteless and juvenile." He should know all about "tasteless and juvenile". His picture can be found next to both words in the dictionary. Poor widdle Grayson can dish it out but he can't take it. That's what he gets for opening his mouth and shutting off his brain. Maybe next time he'll think about what he says and does before he does it.

The guy's a bully and bullies can't handle anyone who fights back. This is actually the SECOND time he's gone after her. The first complaint was the the FEC and they apparently blew him off so now he's crying to Eric Holder. As Eric Holder doesn't even mind voter intimidation by armed racists I doubt he'll give this complaint even a second of his time.

HI Taskr: I found it really funny and I also think that there is nothing wrong on the website mycongressmanisnuts if we are talking about freedom of speech and that's what it is. It's funny and it's a way to say that she doesn't like how he as a politican is doing things. He can find it offensive but she is not doing something illegal so it's stupid that he wants to make her going to jail Well, that's my opinion. Thanks for starting this discussion. Have a nice day. -Alvaro.

This congressman, along with many others, are the ones who are juvenile. It doesn't surprise me that he would try to get this woman put in jail for something so stupid. It just shows how desperate they are to point their fingers toward someone else to take the focus off of them for just a few minutes. But, in reality, they are only showing how stupid they really are. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if this did happen or if the website did get shut down. This administration has made sure that anyone who comes against them or their supporters in any way will be intimidated so they will back down. It has happened time and time again with some reporters who have dared to question those in authority in recent times.
