Why is having a "white Christmas" so important?

White referring to snow, obviously. So many people get depressed when there's no snow on the ground during the Christmas holiday (those of us who actually get snow where we live, that is!) Are you one of these people? Or do you not care either way?

I blame the song... I'm dreaming of a white Christmas... Because of that song, which repeats every year, people tend to dream of snow on Christmas day. Even people in tropical countries are also brainwashed of wanting holidays like this. I know of some Asian countries that have places where they make artificial snow so just people can experience a white Christmas. As for me, I've grown to hate the snow. But on Christmas day, if I don't have to go anywhere, and it melts the day after, then I don't mind a white Christmas.

I hate snow, so I never want a white Christmas! Though we usually have one. I can't remember a year where we didn't have a white Christmas. It would be nice NOT to have one, for once. It's snowing here, and we already have a good 2 feet. My boyfriend doesn't care either way; He's from the east coast where some years they'd have a half inch of snow for Christmas, and other years they wouldn't get any. I don't think it's important - Christmas still comes, so what's the big deal about having snow around for it?

I live in Texas. As far as I can remember, I've never had a white Christmas. I sometimes forget that snow is associated with Christmas. lol. There was one year when it snowed within two days of Christmas and everyone got all excited, but the snow melted before Christmas Eve. That's the way snow works here. When it comes, it either doesn't stick or it melts within a day. It doesn't really bother me that much. I'd like to see a White Christmas one day, but it won't devastate me if I never do.

Because it makes Christmas looks more festive and more impressive! Snow symbolize the pureness and innocence and these are also some of the Christian symbols too, I think.
