Do you buy Christmas gifts for your pets? Do they get their own stockings?
This year we bought the dogs new frisbees for christmas, and they got a bag of Beggin Strips in their stocking.
They even get to open their own gifts. We give them to them last, and encourage them to rip them open.

Tuna makes a great kitty gift!
I'd love to see a kitty open its own presents. My cat (who lives with my in-laws) shows no interest in such things.

It is so funny when I can't find them I use the electic can opener and they come running out but I hate teasing them! I just get worried when I can not find them and that is the only thing that gets them to come out from wherever they have been hiding! L.O.L

I usually buy something for my pets around the holidays because I don't always spend the time to give them all the love and affection that they need during the year. I try my hardest but life just gets in the way and I end up doing more than I should for other things often ignoring spoiling my pets. So I'll buy them little things to spoil them with. Usually I'll buy them treats or things I've been meaning to get them that I've forgotten about otherwise.

I buy toys to fill my cats stocking and my son buys them a larger toy each year.
We do not give them their new toys/treats until after they have gotten tired of playing with the wrapping paper and boxes - which they really love!
Pets may not understand the meaning behind birthdays and holidays; but, they can enjoy a new toy or special treat.

My kittie leaves the room when presents are being unwrapped. The sound of paper crinking scares the bejesus out of her.
Her food comes out of pop-top cans, so she comes running when she hears one of those pop open.

When my dog was still alive she usually got a new dolly which she would eventually completely tear up, she used to love to carry them around in her mouth. They were not really dolls but dog toys that were shaped like people and soft. So we called it her dolly, we would say, "Where is your dolly?" and she would go and find it. We also used to get her a big bone she would usually chew on that while the rest of us opened our presents, and for several days after that.

Boomer's first christmas we got him a HUGE oversized dog bone. We also bought 2 huge bags of dog food at the same time to save a trip. The check out man said, "Wow! What kind of dog do you have!" He must have thought we had a monster. -grin-

it's cute seeing pets open their gifts.I read somewhere this Christmas tag line for a animal shelter:when there was no room in the inn,the animals kept Him warm.we didn't give our cats gifts last Christmas, but they got a lot of food.they feasted on a lot of food.after the holidays, they practically gained a lot of weight with all that non-stop eating.

Table scraps are probably every pets favorite part of the holidays. -grin-
