| We usually get at least 2 calendars given to us. One year I sent for a free California Raisin calendar, that had some great recipes. About.com had some free calendars and some great ideas about reusing some. It even has a foraging calendar. Only runs March through October. But winter is hard and not everywhere has wild berries in winter like cranberries and not everywhere has some edible evergreens (NEVER, EVER eat cedar) like pine needles, balsam, spruce in winter and some warmer winter days like thawing days, spruce gum. Not everywhere has maple and birch syrup in usually Februrary, but it can be as late as March or as early as January for the first one and I've been told the second one is right after, but I haven't tried it yet. | | | | | |

| | That sounds like an interesting calendar. Good information. I do not really get out and forage, but the material should be interesting in case I ever get to. | | | | | | |

| | True, one never knows. Last year, I had to really make an effort to work it into my schedule. With 9.9 acres, to not at least try once a month (and I've always wanted to do once a week and retire to at least a walk every day and forage about 3 times a week during the really heavy parts of the season like late spring, late summer, and whenever the most stuff came in during the fall), not foraging seems like such a waste. Just disappointing when you click on January, nothing. February, nothing. So I clicked on the alternate which is a list under each month that they have. It started in March. OK. Now I know. www.About.com (maybe without the capital, that is what it looks like on the page that comes up) has hundreds of free items including a once a week free newsletter telling you how to be more frugal. Found the foraging and other calendar ideas in the once a week newsletter. Thanks for responding and take care. | | | |

| | Very nice, so you're no stranger to these calendars. Printing pictures of your Daughters sounds like a wonderful calendar for their Grandparents. That's a really cool idea. Wish I had thought of it for Christmas. Would have been nice to give calendars to my family members who don't have computers. Thanks for the additional ideas that I hadn't thought of. Take care. | | | |

| | We got a couple of calendars this year - we really only use one, but a second isn't a bad idea. My client, however, normally has a calendar by her bed, a calendar by her desk, one in the dining room, one in the kitchen, and one in the bathroom. Since she doesn't BUY them, that's fine, but I personally think that might be a few too many... she likes them... | | | | | | |

| | I like one handy when I'm talking on the phone to Drs., people I work for, etc. I have one near my computer. My husband has one in the living room. Come in handy to write down appointments. Keeps his and mine separate that way and if I'm not home he can look on the calendar and see why I'm not there. I usually write him a note, but if I'm running behind. | | | |

| | Were they free? I wish I had thought of this before Christmas. It would have been nice to give them to relatives who don't have online computers. I get tons of free stuff from About.com. Just didn't think about Christmas presents and calendars until now, duh, me. Thanks for checking this out and take care. | | | |

| | We buy several calendars each year in our family. I usually buy them at the Dollar stores, so I never pay more than 1 dollar for each of them. Thanks for the website....it looks great!!! | | | | | | |

| | I always get so many free calendars that I give them away and even have thrown them away. I scan some of the pictures to make jigsaw puzzles on the computer. One year I made calendars for everyone in the family for Christmas. I put in everyone's birthday, anniversaries and so on. It was a job, getting it all together, but fun and everyone seemed to like them. If I ever need a calendar again, I'll make my own. | | | | | | |

| | Yeah, we used to get a lot of free ones, but most companies aren't doing well up here and they stopped giving out extra anything. Did you check out the foraging calendar at about.com? It's a month ahead or a couple of weeks ahear or behind depending on where you live and what kind of year you're having, but it is interesting. My husband has a thing where we could probably glue the calendars to a board and he could cut them and make jigsaw puzzles. Great idea, thanks. | | | |

| | We used to get free calendars, but not so much since the recession. Good to hear that some people are still solvent and confident enough to give them out. Thanks and take care. | | | |

| | I always get free calendars. My bank gives them out every year. I have also sent off for a Betty Crocker one and Pillsbury one. I have 5 calendars in my house. I always look for free ones. If I can't find one then I go to the dollar store and they usually have really cute ones or also Michael's it is a craft store. They usually have them for a dollar also. I have never see the point of paying $15 for a calendar when you can get them for free. I did however pay $7 for a calendar but it one that I created and put my own personal pictures in it for the year it will be a gift for my dad for Christmas. I got it from vista print free and just had to pay the shipping. | | | | | | |

| | Those personal ones with pictures are cool. This year, I see more places doing calendars again. Last year, people dropped that because business was bad. I had to actually seach for calendars. I think people are being more optomistic or they realized how disappointed people were last year without calendars. Also, if they're smart, their business phone # or address are on every calendar. | | | |

| | I usually end up getting a few free calendars. However, I also buy a planner. Foraging is good, but it isn't safe to do in most areas in Florida. Just about everything here is coated in pesticides, so I wouldn't want to risk it. I've never been in a state before with such widespread pesticide use. | | | | | | |

| | I'm so sorry that there are so many pesticides that it's unsafe to gather wild food. There must be a lot of swamp area or standing water that breeds mosquitoes, etc. Planners are very important now-a-days. Thanks for responding and take care. | | | |
