Scented candles ---- are these just for decoration?

I am smiling --- your cats surely love those candles, too. I think it would be safer in the bathroom than maybe in other rooms. If I really have to light and place ordinary candles in the rooms (in cases of power outages), I let them stand inside big emptry cans of milk. Maybe this can be done with scented candles, too. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, scented candles are expensive in our place. I enjoy looking at the various displays at the mall and they are really beautiful. Even if they are not lighted yet, they already give a good smell to the entire house. I had always thought of making my own scented candles but I never did have the time to do it. I came across an instruction on how to do it.

My friend actually made one for me but I already lighted it when there's a brownout in our house....

She told me not to light it but I actually did it because it was an emergency and I am afraid of the dark..

They come in handy in times of emergencies. Good you had one than having to go out and buy.

Yeah, you can actually use it during emergency situations and not just for display. I would love to buy those small one as well and I would love to light it all up in my room just to add some fragrance. But I would choose those cheaper ones...of course.

Yes, not only are they useful during power outages but they can be good source of good scent around the house. They created a nice feeling with the scent that lingers around the place when lighted. The bigger ones are expensive in our place and sometimes practical to use the small and cheaper ones.

That is a good time to buy them. Sometimes, I buy Christmas decors when it is past the season and keep them for the next.

We also find it in so many supermarkets and stores here. They come in different sizes and designs. Most of them are really thick and big. They are expensive in our place. They are favorite gift items here, too.

Yes, the scent goes away if lighted regularly ... scent goes with the melted candle, lol. It is nice to have a surrounding with very good smell. It is true, some have very strong scents they would even make your head spin.

Thanks for the tip. You will have a vanilla-load of things coming your way .... vanilla car freshener, vanilla soap, vanilla lotion or even vanilla-scented knitwears!

How about food with vanilla, do you hate it too?

haha.. I actually like white ice cream.. vanilla, it is called, but it should taste more like cream.. very creamy.. and I like my meat very well done and my favourite fruit without another thought is the ripe fresh red raspberry.. aaaaaaah..

You should try our very sweet ripe mangoes here! No vanilla added, lol.

It is nice to know that some people really light these scented candles. I have noticed that most of my friends don't. They might be aware how much they cost in our place, lol. And, maybe they find it a waste to light these beautifully-designed candles. Other candles are even shaped into different forms. Even without lighting them, the scents can still be enjoyed.

I am like you, actually. We use the ordinary and unscented ones. The thick and big ones are mostly for decorations, too, lol. It is very rare that I light these big and expensive ones. The designs and forms are really amazing. It is hard not to succumb to the temptation of saving and keeping them especially if these are gifts from friends. They come out in very unique designs (and prices, too) and they usually end up as decorations for me, lol.

Yes, their scents make and keep the room smelling good and fresh. Even if these are not lighted, you can really tell their presence, lol. For power outages, we usually use the cheap and ordinary unscented candles. We also light the white ordinary ones when we pray. The very special, expensive, big and uniquely-designed scented candles usually stand as decorations either in shelves or as centerpieces on tables.

Oh, wow, you make scented candles! I envy you, hahaha. I have always wanted to try on this one. I love creating things and try to make it different to suit my personality. I have always loved doing crafts since I was in high school. I had school projects before that were never returned by my teacher because these were displayed in the principal's office.

Some scented candles I have are gifts for my birthday and for Christmas from friends. I keep those that are really really very nice and do not light them. I love their scents even if they stayed unlighted. They surely make very good home decorations.

Rather than being in the dark, might as well light those that are available, isn't it? That is surely a practical way of doing things. Or maybe, rather than running to the store to buy ordinary candles, might as well use them for the purpose. You have a good idea there.
