Someone You Admire Retires or Quits  

i am sorry to see some players retire. I watch quite abit of sports but the one i hated to see retire was michael jordon. I loved watching him play. I will hate it when peyton manning retires to but i don't go into a decline when somebody does.

It is sad because it is something that I enjoy. Even so, I get past it as something else will come along to take it's place.

I suppose Australia is known as a sporting nation with greats in many fields. I think of great swimmers who excelled at the Olympics and of great cricketers like the Chappells, Dennis Lillee, Rod Marsh etc.

Sure, we miss watching them perform, but the beauty is that others take their place. Records are constantly broken. We remember the "oldies" with fondness but our lives didn't depend on them and we are sad but not heartbroken.

I am old enough to remember Sonya Henie the ice skating wonder who graced our movie screens and Johnny Weismuller (Tarzan and Olympian) whose swimming was considered amazing. When we look at their old movies now, we think how awkward and even amateurish they look when compared with modern day wonders.

How do I feel? I am thankful for the input they have given, wish them well in their new venture and watch for the ones who will take over the reins.

When someone prematurely retires it does get noticed. In India there are quite a few actors who belong to this category. I was quite a fan of Amol Palekar who went into 'hiding' for 24 long years but is seen now occasionally in Marathi films.

I'm so sorry to hear someone retired you admired. I'm really understand your feelings.Few years ago,a singer I truely admired was quit.Her voice sounds like dolphins.It makes me inner peace,soft and comfortable. And she is a super star who real insist on herself personality.So I was shocked when I heard she wanted to rest for a while and no one knows when she would come back include herself.I'm afraid I'll never heard her voice,I caught every news about her..what's she looks like know, when she will come back? Since she have retired ,she's looked more happy than before.May be she should have a good rest ,no work ,no other things.I should bless her!

Of course I will feel sad because you used to seeing them in every program airing and you learned for them once they says something. You will get to use to not seeing them when they are gone in time, but you will surely miss them. I will like the person like Oprah because I feel everything she says is real. I learned from her and she have a big heart. I am truly devastated when she finally announces she will be leaving the show soon but now I accepted it.

im not watching NFL games , cause i really like basketball than any kind of sports. when i watched NFL i get bored on it to watch after that i don't watch the NFL games.

I feel like it gives someone else an opportunity to do what those people might have been doing.....like leaving an opening for a new quarterback....so I am not upset by it. LaVeryl Spenser wrote some pretty fantastic books that I loved. When she retired I said ....good for you! She left an opening for someone else to maybe step in where she left off! I admire them very much for knowing when to move on!
