Congrad to the Chinese figure skating team!They win their first gold in Pairs! And they earned a silver too! It is great to see them reach the top soo close to New Years! and Kudos to the Host Country. Oh Canada!You Finally earned your first Gold while hosting the Games Yea! and to Sweden for earning gold in Women's Cross Country skiing! Isn't this great. Do you watch the Oympics Hoping you will see history being made right in front of your eyes?

Oh how I love watching figure skating... NOT!
But for some reason, I saw it on TV last night, and I couldn't get myself to change the channel when the two chinese pairs went on. Maybe it was the story about the two coming out of retirement, because they haven't won Olympic gold. And now they have!
Even though I don't like the sport, I can't help but marvel at great achievements such as this!
Now if only they had sticks...

Hee hee - are you saying you wished they duked it out with sticks and pucks? Have you ever seen Kurt Browning and Scott Hamilton's hockey routine (you can find it on YouTube under 1997 Scott Hamilton & Kurt Browning Upside Down&Move It - I just love that!!!!!!
Anyhow - as a figure skater myself, I think it's great Shen and Zhao came out of retirement to make a fantastic come back to get the gold!!

It was exciting to watch. I just finished it a bit ago, because I tivo it, and then watch the next afternoon. I can't stand all the commercials. Tonight I think is the mens short program.

As a Canadian you can bet I was cheering for that first gold medal of ours. YAY!!! And everyone is doing great so far. I sure hope the Canadians win in hockey, when the time comes.

I LOVE pairs skating and those two Chinese couples were fantastic, weren't they? I was really happy for them. The Gold Medal winners' story was so beautiful and the Silver pair was really nice since they'd finished fourth before and had never won an Olympic medal before. Yes, I do watch hoping to see history being made and so often I do!

Sorry for taking so long to get back here but what did you think of the men's competition? The Russian skater certainly isn't a very good sport, is he? It's a shame we probably won't win a medal in the ladies' competition for the first time since Peggy Fleming's gold in 1968 I think it was. There's an outside chance one of our girls will place but I seriously doubt it.
