Too Much Coffee  

It's been a while since I bought a new keyboard, but I mostly work on my lap top now. My little guy plays on my desk top now, and we put it in his room. There is no food or drink allowed up there so I don't have to wory about him spilling anything on it. I am sorry you could not get your old keyboard working all the way.

Isn't she lovely, isn't she wonderful. I like that keyboard GrandpaBob. It is nice to be able to get the things we so desire and in need of. I thank God everyday that I am able to do this. Even the little things mean a lot to me. Just being able to afford them. I had to buy a keyboard once. That was when the grand boys wasted all the milk and cereal in the other one. It wasn't a nice looking as that one you bought.

How are you coping with it? I know when I use other people keyboard I have to get use to it because it doesn't have the feel of my own.

The last time I had to clean a keyboard was when somebody spilled orange squash on it (it wasn't my keyboard, I'm glad to say). I simply unplugged it, took it to the sink and let the water run over it until I judged it had washed away all the sticky stuff. Then it had a couple of days or so on top of a radiator and it was as good as new.

Provided you don't immerse them in water (and, of course, disconnect them before washing) keyboards are likely to come to no harm if they are dried thoroughly before being used again.

I know keyboards are not that expensive but I never like to throw anything away that can be repaired!

I was surprised yesterday when you said you could still use that other keyboard. Lucky you are not so snowed in you cannot make it to Wal Mart. I am like you and I would certainly miss my computer if I could not use it. I have a rather old laptop, in addition to my desktop. I want one of those little inexpensive netbooks that Wal Mart sells. I could then get a data service program and take it with me when I travel and such. Hope you are having a terrific time with this new keyboard, have a great Mylot day.

Nice looking keyboard. However, before throwing out your old one, try using rice to wick the moisture out and let it dry completely. In using your compressed air, liquid may have been blown deeper into the circuitry causing the keys not to work. Set it out of the way, pour uncooked rice over it and let it sit for a few days. If it works, you'll have a spare. Just in case....

My last new keyboard came with my computer which is about 2 1/2 years old... Haven't had to purchase one separately so far (crossing fingers).

I always say that food and drinks and computers don't mix. If you are at home alone it is one thing, if the computer is shared it is another. I don't think that it is computer etiquette to eat or drink near a computer. First of all you can spill food or drinks on keyboards and it is costly to replace some parts. Thank God that keyboards are not that expensive. However other hardware parts are. Besides that one fills the keyboard with grease or hand dirt from food scraps while he or she is eating. It's not nice if someone else is going to use your keyboard.

Upon reading the subject, I was really thinking that this discussion has something to do on how dependent are you with coffee. But when I finished reading the whole thing, it really made me smile. The idea of the keyboard "had way too much coffee" warms my heart like coffee does. Happy postings too!

I got a new keyboard for christmas year before last & so far i have managed not to spill anything in it. Glad u got u a new one & are back in buisness.

Great keyboards but don't spill no coffee on it, I think £12.82 is quite a bargin, I just have my little laptop that I call my little Baby, lol!
