You are right. No, being bad has nothing to do with money or education, it is the background culture, upbringing by family, social environment/surrounding etc There are many people who are rich & highly educated and still bad and crooks or criminal minded and anti-social, and the reverse too; so one cannot generalise.

Do what I did when I was 19 years old, and stand up for them - politely but vigorously. Working people who do an honest job should be appreciated for the efforts that they put in. Many of my uncles and cousins only had a basic education and worked hard doing "nothing" jobs.

I could easily reverse your question also and ask "are you a good person just because you are rich and literate?". I don't know why Jeffrey Skilling & Bernie Madoff came to mind at that moment, but the answer is often going to be "no".

Wow, thats pretty bad. My husband was in the truck driving and he definatly is not a bad person. And these guys cant even be illiterate. You have to know quite a bit to be a truckdriver. It can be a very hard job at times. The fact that this woman is a teacher is even more disturbing. She is acting like the people in the olden says like in the scarlet letter when they wanted to hang and stone people. Our society is in such a deficiet of humanity and kindness it really is sad. I would not under any circumstances go with this plot to get them out. Maybe you could write a letter to your landlord explaining your end, and just stay out of it with the lynchmob.

Being poor and illiterate doesn't mean you are a bad person. It has nothing to do with your character. Think of the meanest, baddest, most evil person you can think of.. I'm sure he/she is someone rich and educated.

that is cruelty to fellow humans. absolutely inhumane. being a truck driver does not mean they are illiterate, because if they are illiterate then they can not read the road signs and follow road instructions. profession does not dictate a persons actuations. even professional people are rude as what the professor is doing. she may be an EDUCATED PERSON BUT UNLEARNED.

Who is this older lady to say these men aren't educated they very well could be but they have chosed a profession that they enjoy and pays them decent wages....To have a drivers license of anysort you need to know how to read and study for written parts of an exam.....I would talk to her if you can in a polite member and find out why she is scared of these men....I think sterotyping cuz they are truck drivers could have alot to do with it or maybe I'm wrong just trying to help....HappyMylotting.....

This professor sounds quite ignorant in my opinion. Being a ruck driver doesn't mean un-educated and it certainly isn't a nothing job. Were all the trucks in our country to quit rolling at once, people would soon find out how much of what we need depends on these guys.

Being a truckdriver also doesn't mean prone to criminal behavior. My husband has moved drilling rigs and heavy equipment around this country and a couple of others for 15 yeasr and has passed military background checks and has to pass a homeland security background check every time he renews his hazardous endorsement on his CDL.

Sounds to me like someone needs to educate the professor.

Really a person that is uneducated is in a danger to people. Really, this is one thing where it just makes me want to raise my hand to my forehead and slap it over and over again. Educated does not mean harmless. Well, uneducated does not mean harmless either, but that's far from the point. To say these people cause a danger to people just because they are uneducated is quite frankly beyond belief and not to mention ignorant.

A person who is educated should really know better than this. It is not what the person is. It is who the person is. These are just people who are trying to scrap by a living and might be doing the best they can to get by with what life dealt them. Perhaps there is a good reason why these people are uneducated. Of course, some people just seem to look down on people like this but that is society for you.

Moving these people out is going to solve absolutely nothing. In fact, moving someone new in that is educated, you might be trading a harmless person for someone completely diabolical. There are many educated people out there that are quite twisted and even more dangerous. They are competent enough to cause real harm because they know what they are doing and they are smart enough not to get caught in many cases. So it does not seem like too smart of a trade off if you look at it from that angle.

Maybe its just the old age? I have seen many and know quite a few old ppl, that are just too old to be reasoned with and are just getting childish in their mind.

Ofc you should stand and tell your opinion if you think its the right thing to do.
