It can be difficult to find old friends on Face Book  

hi! yes, it can be really hard t find old friends on facebook, especially women who got married and changed their names. I have tried to find some old friends from the primary school once but without any success. it is also important that they have added correctly the information about themselves, because if not, there is almost no chance to find them :(

I often find it difficult to work out who's who on Facebook. Even people with unusual names are often duplicated. Friends Reunited can be better becaue you get much more specific information related to places and times.

Apart from one penfriend, i haven't found anyone on facebook. most of my 'friends' are my work colleagues. I've found a few old school friends on Friends reunited but we haven't really kept in touch.

I managed to find a school mate whom I have not seen for over twenty five years on facebook. He was hardly recognizable bu I immediately recognized his name and surname. We were good friend for five years during the secondary school We had led different paths in life. I settled in life got married fathered a child while he toured the world. He is involved in fashion business (lucky him). We have not managed to make a reunion in real life right now. Hopefully we ll do it in the near future. I really hope that you manage to find your friend. Can you put an advert in alocal newspaper for her to see?

I have found a few of my old friends on Facebook, but mostly I have found that there are lots of people with the same name who are not the right people. I even saw that some were in the same city and had to look closely at the photos as you can never be sure what they look like these days.

There are also those with no pictures, which I find annoying. Some old friends have also found me which has been great and I have been able to meet back up with them in real life even though we live 9 hours drive apart.

I joined Friends Reunited in 2005 I think. The site had a different name back then and was more aimed at school friends, but now I believe it has grown a lot and is worldwide. It was started in Australia and was Australia only the last time I was on there. Most of the people from my school on there at the time were a lot younger than me and I did not know any of them. I made contact with one old friend from school on there. We live only an hour apart even though we are nearly 2000 kilometres from the school! We have since lost contact with each other though. I think that both of these sites are fantastic for re-connecting with old friends.

I'm new at Facebook, and I've never tried to search for friends there (maybe I should). But I'm amazed that some long lost friends have managed to find me there, and now I get to communicate with them thru FB. I haven't checked Friends Reunited, I'll check it out when I got some free time.

Unfortunately,some people you may remember from school or way back that you haven't been in contact with since that time may not be as keen or curious to pick things up from where they left off..Things like relationships have gone on in their own lives and they may well be content to let that dog sleep on at this stage..

Hey Maximax8 greetings to you. You using letters to name your friends just reminded me of one of my favorites TV show, Gossip Girl. It is a bit confusing, your story.

This has happened to me too. I want to contact my two best friends of my last year of elementary school. I can't remember the last name of one, but I've looked up for both, for the school and I can't find anything. Its so sad, like if they didn't exist. I've tried several times from now, but nothing. I mean, everybody I know has Facebook, but you are right. Many people with those names don't have pictures of shown information so its harder.

I hope to find them one day and I'm glad you found who you where looking for.

Oh, yes! I enjoy facebook! It's about as addicting as mylot is to me, lol! I've found a lot of friends on there that I went to school with and several I go to church with, too. I even had an experience here lately where I sent a friend request to one of the guys I went to school with. He chatted with me twice and deleted me, which really upset me. However, I wrote him a note on facebook and told him how it really upset me and I wanted to know why he deleted me. He added me back today. He said it wasn't anything I said or did, which was a relief to me. It's just that his wife died about four or five months ago and he had been chatting with a lot of females here lately but he didn't want anybody to get any wrong ideas since she had only been dead a short time. Most women changes their second name when they got married.
If you´ve luck,you can find your old school and search this way.

I have found some old classmates through Facebook,but no one was interesting to take up contact.
I accept that most of have lots to do,but why sign up at these sites,if you don´t want to meet old friends?
