URGENT! House Dems Plan to Pass Health Care Bill WITHOUT a Vote!

With all the media in a flurry of activity, counting up the votes to see if Pelosi can muster enough to pass the Senate bill, House Democrats are busy behind the scenes devising a plan to pass Health Care WITHOUT a vote.
That's right, they plan to do it by RULE.
According to National Journal's Congress Daily:
"House Rules Chairwoman Louise Slaughter is prepping to help usher the healthcare overhaul through the House and potentially avoid a direct vote on the Senate overhaul bill, the chairwoman said Tuesday.
"Slaughter is weighing preparing a rule that would consider the Senate bill passed once the House approves a corrections bill that would make changes to the Senate version.
"Slaughter has not taken the plan to Speaker Pelosi as Democrats await CBO scores on the corrections bill. 'Once the CBO gives us the score, we'll spring right on it,' she said."
The House will rule that the Senate bill is deemed to have passed the House without ever taking or recording a vote on it. This is the true usurping of power. Congress will pass a bill into law that has NOT been voted on NOR passed by both the House and Senate.

Pelosi is holding an emergency closed door meeting with House Democrats this morning. What do you bet that this proposition is what is being discussed?
Regardless of your position on the health care bill, even if you support it, do you support this unconstitutional move to pass legislation WITHOUT a vote? If this happens, do our elections mean anything? Do our votes count for anything? Do we still have a representative form of government or is government now and forever usurping those powers that are supposed to rest in the hands of the people?

I think this is an absolute disgrace! Obama is so determined to get his own way he will stop at nothing.
What also make me mad is that I heard some politicians say we should pass the bill now and then we can make some tweaks or changes later!! Are these people insane!!!! Obama will never allow anything to change...it is his way or no way!
I hope to God they Impeach Obama soon as if he is allowed to run rampant for three more years we are doomed or a new Third World Country!

Democrats need to realize that no one hold on to power for ever. Ever new power that this Congress creates now will be passed on to the new Congress. I know Democrats will look at this as a stroke of genius but what we they think when Republicans use this power. That is my question to the Senate wanting to use reconciliation also. Democrats will not hold on to every branch of government for ever. Democrats do you really want Republicans to be able to use this tactic, then you should not want your party to use it either.

What the "die hard" Obama supporters do not seem to realize is that if our country goes to the dogs these voters will too. Being a Obama supporter will not get them a free pass!

This is what I have been saying all along. Every time the administration overreaches, supporters will defend it with cries of "Bush did it" or argue why it shows a strong leader to take the bull by the horns. Wrong, wrong, wrong, no matter who did it. Anytime something is done with "the people unwilling", and goes unchallenged, it effectively transfers more power to the government. Even if someone completely trusts those in power today, how will they feel when someone they don't trust is in power?
"I know Democrats will look at this as a stroke of genius"
I expect they will, but it's a short-sighted view and they will be sorry someday.

If they can do this why not just save money and let Speaker Pelosi decide what bill will pass and what ones will not. Think how much money we could save if we eliminated 434 Representatives. This will mean that we have to Assume that she is reelected to Congress and since she is the only member she can vote herself Speaker.

In the early years of this country, travel took days instead of hours. Congress didn't meet for months on end. I think the best solution is for government, at least as far as Congress and houses of Parliament, to be a part-time job, meeting only for a short time each year to handle necessary business. These people should have real jobs, so that service to the country is just that, and not a ticket to a special class of citizen with all sorts of extra benefits. Pay them less and for goodness' sake, keep them from spending all their time finding ways to mess with our lives!

I don't doubt that this closed door meeting is to discuss how to get away with this no vote option; but the republicans are looking into the constitutionality of it.
Democrats Consider Drastic Moves to Pass Health Care Bill Written By: Ben Domenech Publication date: 03/11/2010 Publisher: The Heartland Institute
"I want to ensure there is an expedited review process to have the Supreme Court look at this. It’s about as unconstitutional as anything I’ve ever seen,” Orin Hatch (R-UT) told Health Care News. “To pass a $2.5 trillion bill without the House even voting on it, by using manipulative parliamentary gimmicks, is just not the right thing to do.
It is mindboggling what they are considering doing,” Hatch said. “They cannot win by being straight up and honest about it, so they’re going to try to win at all costs and hope this issue will go away. But it’s not going to go away. The American people are up in arms about it. And they should be.”
I hope Orin Hatch is right that the American people are up in arms about this and will not let Pelosi and Slaughter get away with this, because if we aren't, our elections and votes mean nothing and our representative form of government is abolished. What would stop the democrats from doing the same thing at any time?

Im Canadian but its the same here, they do what they want. They find loopholes in the laws and theres nothing you can do.
I know our votes dont mean a thing, not here, and not anywhere. I found out the hard way while working for the elections and I ended up being escorted out because I was being too loud about it. Nobody ever believed me. Elections are fixed.

I think that if that is what they do, every single one of them should be impeached for disregarding the will of the people. To pass something like that, that affects every one of our lives, without a vote or input from the people is a constitutional crime. If it happens, I hope there are demonstrations and protests across the country!
I wish there was some way to convince the entire nation to stop paying taxes. Take the money away from them and they can't spend it.
