Dont the answers to the discussion freak you out sometimes? |
| |
| I mean, I get this all the times, I start a discussion and I get an answer totally different from subject, or related to but not what it was asked. I get this all the time. Whats been the weirdest discussion response you have ever gotten? | | | | | |

| | i have very few discussions started and so far have gotten none of those out of the subject response. I've seen some of those though in other discussions i've been posting responses... just ignore those. | | | | | | |

| | Yes, I usually ignore the odd or out of context ones... But sometimes I just feel that people need a little head shaking reality check. | | | |

| | Whether a plant is a fruit or a vegetable is a question that troubles many people. Why, for example, should a carrot be classified as a 'fruit' in Europe? Because (in Portugal, apparently) 'jam' can be made out of carrots ... I can vouch for it: it is possible ... and so carrots carry a different tax to other root vegetables, such as potatoes and parsnips. Discussion topics are like seeds. You hope that what is going to grow is a plant with many leaves representing different opinions on a similar subject but if the seed is ill formed and isn't crystal clear about the topic you intend to discuss, there are people who will read what you have written and interpret it in an entirely different way to what you had intended. Most of the weirdest discussion responses have either been unintelligible (one hopes that the person did have something to say but could not express it in English, so perhaps, used Gargle Translocate) or have been mere random pastings of more or less relevant passages from some web page or other. | | | | | | |

| | Probably far more healthy than what we get here which has usually never seen a berry or an orange or whatever. When you realise how much sugar (or molasses) goes into the ol' fashioned baked beans, one begins to wonder if the dish shouldn't be served as a dessert, after all! | | | |

| | Hatley, I don't know why sugar in baked beans but I guess that it all comes from the original recipe of Boston Baked Beans (navy beans cooked with molasses, pork and other stuff and, in the original recipes, I think, no tomatoes). I prefer to make my own bean dishes which use little or no sugar and are much more tasty than anything that you get out of a tin. I use borlottis, pintos or red beans, too, which I think have much more flavour than navy beans. | | | |

| | Some people on MyLot appear to have diarrhea of the mouth. You think the site would catch on that some people just type crap just to type it and don't say anything of substance. Wouldn't it be nice if we could delete rubbish responses off of our own discussion threads? | | | | | | |

| | yeah, sometimes it happens to me to when some is calling me moron and that freaks me really out, but most of the time I just reject them! :) HAHA JUST KIDDING TO SEE YOUR REACTION :) well, yes, sometimes there are people who really don't know what is the discussion all about and just post something in the sake of the "good earnings" which I find for really intolerable, but always try to give them some tips in order not to repeat the same mistake twice! | | | | | | |

| | I definitely won't say that this freaks me out. However, sometimes I have to wonder about some of the things that people do say in response to a discussion. For example, in a discussion that I recently started, one person simply responded, I like chatting with you. I didn't even know the person and that was what disturbed me about it. But, it is also interesting to read what people have to say even if it doesn't follow the topic at hand. | | | | | | |
