i am only here to make some money coz i can do it while i'm watching tv. I dont accept people anymore because i'm not going to talk to anyone anyway. I dont see this website as a place to socialise just to express my opinions whilst getting paid, basically if i weren't getting paid for this i would not be doing it

Hello, Elic. I'm with you all the way on this. I'm sick of seeing 'discussions' which are just adverts, and others asking basic questions that are answered int the TOS and FAQs. I just can't be bothered with that sort of stuff any more.

I'm also getting lots of FRs from people with only a few posts, and I turn them down, because I'm here for the discussions and my friends. I joined MyLot because it was completely different to any other site on the internet, and I want to keep it that way.

There are plenty of places for dross and scams - we don't want it or need it here.

Hi ElicBxn you've responded to quite a few of my posts - especially my cat related ones - thank you. Yeh I had a moan the other day about how many posts where about making money GoAskAlice said they remove them as fast as they could but also do not and cannot 'vet' posts. I agreed obviously but it still drives me mad. It's not really up to admin it's up to us. I too have turned down friends requests if 'making money' is the reason they are on the site. My reason for being here is that it is challenging and interesting. It challenges my thinking and may even upset me sometimes and keeps my brain working sorting out my response to a post. I've made $9 so far (about £5 UK) mylot is hardly making me feel rich but yeh it is nice to be earning a bit for expressing my opinion.

When PTC and the like are sent to me from a "friend" I turn them off.
Most are the new ones, very rare an old myLotter will do that.

They learn after some time or just fade away.

If I had answered this question three years ago I would have said that I was here for the earnings and to learn how to earn online.

If you asked me two years ago I would have said that I was here because I had many friends who I was thanjful to for helping me get started.

If you asked me a year ago I would have answered that I have many friends here and the earnings are just a bonus.

But you are asking today Many of my friends are no longer here. Some are missing and will be back. I really don't know what else to add, maybe because I am noticing a change in the 'feel' of the Lot over the past few weeks. Too many new users who are just here to earn (and will be disappointed unless they start typing something) and many others who are busy elsewhere and only just popping in and out nowadays.

I will confess here that I am getting burnt out helping new users, half of which do not really want to learn and I have no answer to your question, today. Maybe you can ask me tomorrow?

Well, I also experienced same with some people under my referrals and it is really makes me upset. And sometimes I got a response also like I am crazy for staying on this page because I cannot earn much here. Well, I am not here for earnings only. I enjoy being here because it provides other opportunities much more important than earning few cents. Being in mylot makes us aware of what is happening around us. It also helps us to gain more knowledge and meet friends. But for some people, they think mylotting is just a waste of time. Anyway, I do not want to argue anymore with that kind of people. I love being here and I consider mylotting more of a relaxation rather than a site which I can depend my monthly income.

im here cause i want to earn extra income for family. aslo after being inlove with mylot i gave up many ptc site. including neobux. there is so much to learn here. and good ideas and suggestions that are applicable in real life

I'm here for the same reason as you. I love to interact with people and make friends. MyLot is the PERFECT place to do this, in my opinion. The money is purely icing on the cake.

I also turn down friend requests when I see that they only seem to be interested in making money and getting referrals. Sometimes, I'm fooled and do allow them on my friends list but, if they immediately PM me about a referral site, I'll answer them with a 'thanks but no thanks', then delete them from my friends list.

Someone actually asked me if I wanted to buy a house located in the Philippines! Yeah, sure, I want to buy a house halfway around the world that I've never seen and probably doesn't even exist in the first place. Sure.

Actually, I'm quite surprised that no one has yet approached me here with a scheme to declare me as the "next-of-kin" to inherit a gazillion million bajillion dollars. They seem to be everywhere else!

I think it's a shame that we can't send a short message with an 'add as friend' request - indeed, I think that it should almost be obligatory - saying WHY we ant to add someone as a friend.

Of course that wouldn't really stop the 'spam scouts' from trying to add as many people as possible but it might make them pause for thought (if they are capable of it in the first place, of course).

I'm not here to make money - but that doesn't mean that, if MyLot didn't pay us, I would necessarily still be here. 'Cents' are 'points' and whatever game you are into, it's nice to build up points!

I joined at first, I think, because I had been a contributor to Yahoo! Answers and enjoyed some of the discussions and social things there. It seemed logical to do the same thing here AND get paid a little for it. A little later on I became hooked and now I occasionally find myself thinking up valid reasons for spending so much time here!

One aspect of MyLot which, perhaps, only a few people have tumbled to is that it is a really excellent training ground and source book for writing articles that really do pay in some way. I love writing but have always found it very difficult to write when the topic is open ended and I am left looking for my own subjects. MyLot can help solve this problem by giving one topics to focus on and also (in the responses to discussions) by providing an invaluable insight into how other people see the topic and what specific problems they may have with it. This can be a gold mine for an article writer because it allows him (or her) to address common problems and the questions people frequently ask.

I have noticed, too, that, increasingly (as I read more articles and more about writing articles), my responses here are becoming mini-articles and, in fact, I have used one or two of them (suitably adapted) as blog entries and articles elsewhere.

I don't, personally, find the Interest categories a great deal of use to me. Occasionally I will browse the 'My Interests' section for discussions but generally I find the randomness of the 'New' tab more stimulating (um, well ... and sometimes depressing, if every damned discussion seems to violate a guideline or be on cricket or football. Maybe I should expand my knowledge field a bit or, at least, find something to sell in these interests!).
