Hi jugsjugs, you mean you are going to catch the crabs, if it is, you can call that crab catching, isnt?? I have caught crabs on lakes, fields(agricultural),and rivers, once, I even caught or instantly killed a sea crab with a stone at one of the beaches in Goa.

Did this with my Thai wife last December. We caught mud crabs. We went out in my son-in-law's parent's boat, and caught the quota in a short time, all over reg size. In the afternoon we had a feast. Yum!

Oh my goodness, I love crab meat. I didn't know that some people just went crab fishing. That sounds like so much fun. I have been fishing for everyday fish like catfish, bass, and bluegill. But I have never heard of anyone ever going fishing for crab. I would love to go. Is this something that you do in the ocean or the sea? I guess it would have to be sometype of waters like that, as I am pretty sure that these cannot be found in just a river or a lake. Tell me more about this crab fishing my friend, and have a great day here on myLot!

I think that would be a lot of fun to give a try, but we live no where near the sea so it isn't something that we've ever had the opportunity to do. I do know that if we were to live closer to the ocean, crabbing would be something that we would do without question. The thought of putting out the buckets and letting them soak while you wait for the fruits of your time and effort to come about would be a great experience. Not to mention the fact that when you actually have a catch, I bet that there is a great deal of pleasure.

Hi,jugsjugs
Well,I have an experience of fishing. It's around 8 years old and my father bring me to fish in a lake,I still can remember we sat on the shore of lake and grilled for almost whole day .Coz we should be quite and patient for the tool we used just fish rob.
BUT it's a still funny experience,I learned a lot ,especially the relationship between success and patience

What a great time to have. Good family bonding as well. I've never had crab fishing before. But I've had prawn fishing. And it was great too! I should add crab fishing now as it's one great activity for a family outing. Thanks!

How do you crab fish? My dad told me that my uncle told him that all you ave to do is to dig a hole, put a deep pail in the hole and cover the protruding brim with sand (kinda like hiding the brim to make the crab think that there's still sand) and then wait for crabs to fall in the pail.
Kinda reminds me of an aesop's fable(but the story was for frogs) . Haha.
Anyway, care to share how to catch crabs?

I've never done this, myself, but it sounds like so much fun! I've never heard of crab fishing here in the states but I love crab meat. There is a restaurant not far from where I live that used to have crab meat salads and I used to get them a lot whenever I would eat there. They don't have them any more, though
