Enjoy the Journey --- Why bother about the path? or about the destination?

OFTEN, we forget about this principle in life. Is life not like a simple journey? If the path is beautiful, let us not start talking about where it leads to! And, if the destination is sure to be beautiful, why do we have to worry about the path we are travelling on? And, even better, if we are least bothered about either the path, or the destination, life's journey is always BEAUTIFUL. do you contribute to this thought. I am not promoting any lethargy or lazy behavior. nor am I a foolish fatalist, to stop working altogether, in the name of KARMA law! Thanks for sharing your views.

I forget too...though I try to take each day as it comes. But I am one of those who needs something to do all the time and stopping to smell the roses sometimes makes me feel that I'm not utilizing my time. I know....we need to learn to relax and rejuvenate ourselves too. Being a mother and wife, I find it difficult to just enjoy the journey of life and not focus on the path or the destination.

dear friend, Thanks for being a devoted wife and lovely mother... but, Is it not time for you to be YOURSELF first? I agree that YOU are the one who should take care of most of the house jobs, and see that all is well, but,... ask your spouse, or your boys/kids.. they would be glad to be of SERVICE, to make you more comfortable. Just take a break. AT least, on this mothers' day eve. Thanks for being very truthful. But, I will be more happy, if you enjoy the LIFE. It does not cost you anything to be natural

remember this my friends when yout children make you ready to climb the walls, one day they will be where you are, and you can smile when they are yelling at your grand kids to stop doing whatever they are doing. then you can say been there and done that.

As I have got older I have began to realise just how true this is. In your youth all you can think about is 'getting there, but it is what you go through in the process of getting there that makes you the person that you turn out to be. I had dreams and aspirations when I was young - many I have reached many I have not, but I have had a real fun time trying along the way. Naturally there have been some bad times on the journey, but mainly all good. I started life as a frightened school girl, when I think of all the experiences I have had on the journey to a mother and grandmother now in the autumn of my life I can count myself very lucky. I have been privileged to have see some of the world's most lovely places, I have given birth to five wonderful children ( and lost a couple along the way that didn't quite make it), I have 9 (almost 10) adorable grandchildren - I had to watch as two if these had to fight to cling on to their little lives, but they were little fighters and with God's grace they did. I met ';the love of my life' when I was 14, we are still together and have been married for almost 40 years. I don't have a lot of money, in fact times can be pretty hard, but I still think that I am very lucky and that I have had a great journey so far - I look forward to the remaining part of that journey.

how philosophic, but very truthful? .. Friend, why don't you put all this into an article and post it to different article hosts? It is one point, which is to be told to everyone. particularly teenagers, and career-mongers. They keep running and rushing. All in the mad rush. LOVE at 14 years? You seem to be a really .. (no words to suit my feelings of jealous!) Cheers to your energy, and your positive behavior. I wish you a very very pleasant and LOOOOOOONG LONG journey.

consultrainer yes we do often forget the path but it is not always sweet, because if it were we would never really appreciate its sweetness not having had anything to compare to but often times the path is uh bittersweet and this makes us realize when its altogether sweet just how wonderful that is. every once in a while you have to stop and smell the roses and for me, this morning being mother's day, I allowed the care giver to pour some syrup on my waffles, something that I know will raise my blood sugar,I'm a diabetic, because its so wonderfully good to eat and the rest of the time I forgo any type of syrup, but I was eating the sweetly flavored waffles and really enjoying every mouthful. The sweets of life along with the bittersweet of diabetes, mix up to show how wonderful it is when everythings going so smoothly.Happy MOthers day Consult.

you seem to have a sweet tooth. you have used the word sweet, twice in the sentence. Have you found out any special key-word value to the word? or .. are you just feeling so warm, and happy? PLEASED to find you supporting my opinion though. lols. Why do you keep adding the words TATA, after your every post and comment? Just asking. Thanks again for the words.

Philosophy all of a sudden.Have you seen any movie or what!! Anyhow I agree with every sentence that you mentioned. If we think of the result too much we can not work,So just keep on moving with a reasonable and happy target. Past is history, future is mystery.Treat everyday as a present, because it really is a present.

hahahaha. I surrender. I think, at my age, I should mix all. As they say, old-man's blues ... remember the saying in telugu? about the Dassara festival for old men? Your quote about past, present and FUTURE is.. really good. The PRESENT, .. i have attended a seminar about that topic, by an eminent author. sometime back. It moved me to tears, for having neglected my PRESENT. thanks again Bhaskar.

All too true. The western world in particular very guilty of concentrating more on the destination than how we get there. One of the few pleasures of my journey to work is, when cycling home, I have a fairly quiet promenade ahead, where I can observe the early morning sea, sand, and local habitat before massed human occupancy. An opportunity to daydream or stream new ideas.
